  1. Yours might not be the same situation. You got FCC because the cruise was cancelled by Carnival. In this case, there is FCC because someone purchased vacation protection,
  2. One advantage to using a PVP is that they are Carnival experts and work with them all day, every day. A TA is usually booking all number of cruise lines, as well as hotels, airlines, resorts, etc. Our PVP has been with Carnival for almost 20 years. If she doesn't know the answer to a question or is dealing with a difficult issue, she can get through to the proper people at Carnival without sitting on hold like an individual person or a TA has to. She knows us well enough that if she sees a deal she thinks we would like, she calls us.
  3. The newer ships may be bigger, but they have significantly less common area space per passenger than the older, smaller ships. We were on the Horizon last fall, and although there were quite a number of unsold cabins, it felt very cramped to us. The smaller ships might not have as many amenities, but we love that there is more room to spread out.
  4. Maybe they went to the buffet every night. I have seen plenty of posters s ON CC who say they never go to the MDR.
  5. Or it could have been that those tables were assigned to parties that never ate dinner in the MDR. I have seen empty 2-tops and 4-tops for the entire cruise in the MDR even pre-Covid.
  6. On every ship I have been on since the restart, I have just been handed the cash.
  7. They aren't really "vouchers". When you buy a drink with your Sign & Sail, it charges you for the drink and immediately credits it out. You can certainly get a drink and give it to someone else.
  8. Late April would be pretty late for Spring Break for a traditional school schedule. Most of them will be out for the summer break within the following 4-6 weeks.
  9. I know we aren't allowed to say the name, but there is a popular cruise-specific TA online that has an amazing search engine. You can search by date range, cruise line, ports of call, embarkation port, among many other variables. It can show fares by cabin type and/or price per day. I always start there and contact my PVP to book.
  10. Maybe that's because almost the entire boat is diamond or platinum on Journeys cruises, so it won't make much of a difference. All priority is no priority.
  11. I suppose that in theory, you don't have to link your cruises, so they think you are a regular debarking passenger and then a newly arriving passenger...
  12. Yes - sorry, we always carry off our luggage so I didn't realize that was a perk.
  13. I was on the Pride last week and the tags were in my cabin. Also when I was on the Valor a month ago, if I am not mistaken.
  14. What ship is this? I believe that every cruise I have been on, the steward left the tags in our Cabin.
  15. If that works for you, that's awesome! DH and I have basically done most of the 3rd party excursions, so it may be the "fish eating the dead skin" pedicure for me next time. LOL
  16. A week or so ago, John Heald posted the crew menu on Facebook and it looked delicious. There were many requests in the comments for Carnival to have a "crew favorite" up at the LIDO, so fingers crossed that JH mentioned that to the beards.
  17. Loved it! Pride is my favorite ship. It never felt crowded and it is a very easy ship to navigate. If it had a Cucina del Capitano, it would be perfect! I thought all of the ports were great. I only wish the 1 sea day was more towards the middle of the cruise. We were pretty tired by the end!
  18. Just did 10 days on Pride plus 4 days prior in Rome with just a carry-on and a backpack. Here is how I did shoes: I wore athletic shoes onto the plane, and packed flip flops, topsiders, and dressy flat sandals. Didn't miss any other shoes.
  19. Short ribs in the MDR Banana cream pie for Sea Day Brunch Confetti Cheesecake on Lido. Pork chop at Cucina del Capitan. Everything at Steakhouse Brunch - if you are ever lucky enough to be on a cruise that offers it
  20. Do they provide equipment (paddles and balls)? I would think so, but I just want to be sure.
  21. Irrelevant. Pricing is 100 percent about what the market will bear. If for some reason people started avoiding Galveston in droves, the price would go down.
  22. If it were supply issues, I would think they would have called the charge "temporary".
  23. There will always be more kids on the ship in Summer and during school breaks. Also, IIRC, none of the kids clubs were open last June, so that was probably a factor in the number of kids that were running around the ship.
  24. Does that change my assertion that they were less experienced cruisers?
  25. What's to be offended about? I wasn't saying all Blue and Red cards are disruptive partiers. But there is already an established cutoff at Gold Card level that they could easily use. Also, if your next cruise is 4 days or longer, you will be Gold and be able to buy a bottle under my plan!
