  1. Great deal! What kind of airfares are you able to get at such a short notice?
  2. Unless you were already Diamond under the old rules, you are Platinum level. It takes 200 days to be Diamond.
  3. My guess is that Carnival would respond with "That's why we provide you with a safe in your room."
  4. If you are willing to take a more expensive cruise on another line just to get buffet bacon every day, go for it. It just lowers the demand and makes a Carnival cruise a better deal for me.
  5. Not anymore. I don't see why they would. No one is required to wear them anymore. If you want masks, I suggest you bring them aboard.
  6. On the last ship I was on (Pride), it actually lists the pasta in the appetizer section. They also list it as a main course.
  7. You should have credit for all of your past cruises. And yes, you would be Platinum. Carnival should be able to find your history using your name and DOB.
  8. Actually, the poster was being kind. I have seen posts describing all of the food on Carnival as "inedible". Those poor people... Going on a cruise and not having a single thing to eat the entire time...
  9. We are currently on the Pride and the CD made the announcement this morning. I would assume this is a fleet-wide policy change. It's so great to see everyone's smiling face!
  10. I wouldn't call you lucky. I would call you typical.
  11. At a Chef's Table I attended last winter, they "demonstrated how to make Chocolate Melting Cake. It was just one of the cooks beating the ingredients in a bowl with a whisk for about 20 seconds. 😕
  12. Any reports of cruise passengers being violent crime victims? I lived in Chicago for 30 years and have been on many cruises to Mexico, and I feel (and actually am) much, much safer walking around in the tourist areas of any cruise port in Mexico than in many neighborhoods of my old hometown.
  13. My guess is that Carnival's choice not to do "Broadway Light" shows is deliberate. Not because of expense; it' that their market demographic isn't necessarily interested in Broadway Shows. They would rather see the type of show that is popular in Las Vegas, such as the "Cirque du Soleil" shows.
  14. You will be fine. On the last cruise I was on for Halloween, I would say that folks in costume were in the minority. I am a light packer like you.
  15. Would it be possible to visit the DMV first thing tomorrow for a replacement?
  16. If your child is a good swimmer, why would they need a life preserver? If you keep a reasonable eye on them during the excursion, they should be fine. And I am saying this as a former lifeguard.
  17. They announced it on board. And yes, the steakhouse brunch was in the steakhouse. 😊
  18. They aren't fake. BLT stands for Bread, Lettuce, and Turkey bacon.
  19. How many 12-day cruises does Carnival have? They may be so infrequent that they don't have a standard menu.
  20. I think it's a safe bet that nearly all, if not all meat that is cooked on the ship came onboard frozen.
  21. The worst is when people leave their balcony light on all night. It means I have to close my curtains completely to get any sleep.
  22. I am so happy this changed! DH and I were arriving in Rome a few days early, and we were going to have to test there. We are fully vaccinated so we are good to go!
  23. Excellent news for those of us cruising on Pride in the next few weeks! I got this email this evening: September 26, 2022 Dear Carnival Guests, As countries have continued to relax their testing requirements, we want to provide you with an update for your upcoming cruise. Vaccinated guests – A pre-cruise test is not required unless you are unable to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated guests – Guests age 5 years and older, will have to present the negative results of a PCR or antigen test taken no earlier than 3 days before sailing. Please be sure to visit our Have Fun. Be Safe. page on Carnival.com for complete information on vaccination and testing requirements. Thank you for your cooperation. Our entire team is preparing to make your cruise fun and memorable. Sincerely, Colleen Oliverio VP, Guest Services - Contact Centers
  24. The computer knows. Even though your drinks are free, you will sign a slip that shows the cost of your drink, along with an equal amount crediting it out for a zero balance.
