  1. It all depends what time you want to eat and is also affected by whether it’s a sea day or port day. We’ve had to wait anything from 10 to 30 minutes. It’s not a problem as Discoveries bar is very nice.
  2. Same here, I drink gin & DH drinks whisky
  3. I had a pedicure with gel polish which cost me $99.
  4. Azamara excursions are expensive, however if you have lots of OBC to spend then they may be the best way to use it, given Azamara are so inclusive. Anyone can use the sauna & spa showers, but you pay for treatments. We love Prime C - never had a bad steak and the rack of lamb is brilliant. Chefs table is a 5 course meal paired with wine. It’s served at a big table in one of the speciality restaurants and there are various themes - French, American etc. Our favourite eating place is the Patio (included). It’s outside on the Pool Deck. During the day it serves burgers, chicken strips etc, but it has a different menu in the evening. There is always a soup, and there’s a salad bar and you can go into the buffet & get other starters and also desserts from there. Discoveries main dining room is, of course, included. We enjoy the food there. We’ve never eaten in the buffet in the evening as we prefer to be served, but many people do. The Indian night there is very popular.
  5. Yes, bars of soap are provided in cabins along with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel & body lotion
  6. Yes you can buy a drink - it’s at full menu cost, not the difference. You can also buy the package part way through the cruise at the daily rate for just the remains days of the cruise. On our last cruise we had a little spare OBC so we used it on the Ultimate package for the last 4 days as a nice little treat
  7. Food is so subjective, isn’t it? We really like Prime C - never had a bad steak & the rack of lamb is always brilliant. On the other hand we have been very much underwhelmed with Aqualina the last twice we ate there. Sounds like you didn’t try the Patio at night - it’s now our favourite place to eat.
  8. We have previously cancelled then rebooked a cruise in the same cabin when the price dropped dramatically. We lost our £500 deposit on the first booking, but ended up saving about £1800 overall.
  9. Boat tour to Martello island on the Haberton estate. You can walk amongst Gentoo and Magellanic penguins - wonderful.
  10. Quite agree - Deck 11 has always been our ‘go to’ place on sea days on Azamara when in sunny climes. As you say you can choose sun or shade - and on a really hot day putting the sun bed next to the cool air vent is wonderful.
  11. Does it mention an OBC coupon but not an amount? That’s what shows on ours.
  12. The Wi-Fi on board is fine nowadays. We always have unlimited Wifi because buying minutes means you have to be very careful about logging on and off each time or the minutes just disappear. I think that if you’re not drinkers, on an 11 day cruise it’s probably better to just buy the Wifi package which would be better value, but the only way to be sure is to add up all the individual costs that are of value to you. A wifi package for an 11 day cruise is about $219.45 for one device at a time.
  13. Same here but on our Azamara Invoice under Promotions Applied it says EXMO ESS (for Experience More Essential) and when I click Manage My Reservation on our upcoming cruise in My Account it shows 1 Experience More Essentials Package.
  14. But not special soft drinks like elderflower cordials etc.
  15. So glad to hear you’re OK Betsey, but sorry to hear about your son-in-laws farm.
  16. We often check one of our two carry ons.
  17. I think it depends on the requirements for cruising of the country where you embark.
  18. Are you completing the document section in the cruise reservation? If so it should ask you if you want to store your reservation when you sign out. It did on mine and I clicked yes, and it’s still there.
  19. I can help with laundry - mostly laundry is per item, but from time to time during a cruise they offer a bag for $40, and you can get a lot in a bag if you roll it up tight.
  20. You’re right - it was 2019 - got my years mixed up, they come and go so quickly nowadays 🤭!
  21. That’s if you’re lucky enough to be onboard for lunch. Our last cruise, despite being at the terminal at 1:30 we didn’t get onboard until after 4:30 when Windows was closed! It was Rio and we were told that’s not unusual there.
  22. The only problem with being invited to dinner with an officer is it usually seems to be early - 6-6:30ish. We usually dine later - 7:45/8:00, so it puts our day out of joint!
  23. Our Norway cruise on Azamara Journey in July 2017 was our favourite - we went to Flam, Geiranger, Molde,Tromso, Trondheim, Olden, Bergen, the Lofoten Islands, Honningsvag/North Cape & Bodo (not in that order!). All were beautiful. We had White Night pretty far north - it was magical seeing the sun still above the horizon at midnight. There were numerous magical moments - the ship turning thro’360 degrees in Trollfjord, the Captain stopping the ship & sending a tender off to a small village to buy strawberries, going under a tight bridge and hearing the captain’s friend hailing us from above us, The weather was very varied - we had snow in Flam and hot sun in Bergen - so layers the way to go as far as packing is concerned.
