  1. We have been to Coco Cay at least 8 times since it became “Perfect Day.” I tend to be a very cheap person😂, unless it is something I really want. So no cabanas, beach club, or water park for us, we just relax at the pool or on the beach or both, depending on the weather. I’m always happy to go there. Sherri🙂
  2. We discovered on Jewel in December a big change in the Solarium cafe. With the exception of the roast beef, the sandwiches were all pre made and about the size of a small slider with very skimpy fillings. Each day you had 4 to choose from plus the roast beef sandwich. One small salad which was mostly iceberg lettuce was available. They did have bags of potato chips on a few days!😂 Pizza was available in the WJ but they were not keeping up with the demand which created a long line and wait. You had a choice of pepperoni, cheese or the daily specialty. A staff member would bring one out and by the time he got back with a different one, the first one would be gone. People waiting in line were getting quite grumpy. Sherri🙂
  3. I had always wanted to try it and finally tried it on Harmony in 2021, my husband and I could not stop laughing at what was served. It was just a small lobster tail, think MDR size, very tough and dry. I have had lobster thermidor in land restaurants that was served with a creamy sauce, this had no sauce but something dried out on top. It was maybe. 3 bites of lobster. The waiters were automatically serving everyone a second lobster. Maybe they were just having a bad night in the kitchen, but I will never order it again. Sherri🙂
  4. We were on Serenade in November 2021. In our opinion, the ship appeared really rundown. The Solarium was in bad shape, lots of rust and in dire need of some paint. Cracked windows in the dining room. Frayed carpeting in our cabin and torn balcony drapes. My husband said he couldn’t imagine doing a long cruise on Serenade. I think she is going into dry dock before her upcoming big cruise as she really needs it. We thought Jewel was much better. Sherri🙂
  5. Hi Sharon! We are leaving Thursday with return on Monday. The temps for the weekend are expected to be below 0, can’t wait🙄! I’ve always wanted to serve on a jury but was never called in Indiana. I’ve been called 3 times since moving to Florida but cancelled everytime. Sherri🙂
  6. Happy belated birthday Melody! Love the family pictures as always! And I hope your surgery has gone well! Melissa, that is the BEST news ever! Congrats! 🎈🎈 Love all the trip planning that is going on! Sherri🙂
  7. I have to agree with you, we’ve done 15 cruises since the restart, 4 of them were on Celebrity, one a Viking River cruise, the rest on 7different Royal ships. Food has been, as you say, hit or miss on all of them. Our most recent cruise was a B2B on Jewel in December. I ordered the French onion soup the first night, instead of being served in the crock with the cheese all melted and gooey, it came in one of the usual white soup cups and I had to hunt for any cheese.😂 Tried it again on the 2nd week, it was back to normal. Different chef? Sherri🙂
  8. We did a B2B in December. The ship was in good shape, food was some of the best we have had since we resumed cruising in 2021. Crew was amazing but overworked, MDR waiters always seemed to be running. No waiters in some of the bar area, Vintages never had a waiter so everyone just ordered at the bar. I felt sorry for the one bartender, whenever he a a moment when he was not mixing or ringing up a drink, he would go outvand try to clear tables. Although we thought the entertainment was not the best, we still enjoyed our cruise and are going again in March! Sherri🙂
  9. Jacksonville should be warmer by the time you get home, Lois! You have missed a weekend of colder weather! Glad you have had a good time and was able to stay away from the rude guy. Some people are just jerks!😂 I know you are a football fan, did you hear the Jacksonville jaguars won yesterday? I think that means they get to go to the playoffs? Safe travels home! Sherri🙂
  10. Hi Lois, glad to hear you are having a good cruise. Have a great and safe journey! wow, Cynthia! That sinkhole looks very scary! I did not realize Georgia has issues with those, they can be huge here in Florida! Sharon, sounds like you had a fun holiday with granddaughter and ready to go again! We may be flying up to Minnesota for a few days later this month, our son in Australia told us over NYs he had booked a flight to Minneapolis to spend 2 weeks with his son. I am hoping to find a decent price for flights as soon as son decides if he wants us to come there or meet him in Indianapolis. Melissa, all I can say is HURRAY!!!! 🎈🎈🎈Hope you are starting to see improvement from side effects! I will be thinking of you on the 19th! Love the holiday family pictures, Melody! Your daughter looks so much like you, same eyes, same smile! Kat, you are braver than me, driving up and down those mountain roads, snow or no snow! Good thing your car is back in top shape! And Christie, welcome back! The hours you put in working through December make me so glad I retired as my unit always seemed to be short staffed November through December. And if we did have a day with extra staff, we always had to float to another unit, everyone hated that! OOTD: Gym clothes as I am going as soon as I finish this! Sherri🙂
  11. You can wear capris in the MDR, shorts are supposedly not allowed yet I see many wearing them. Sherri🙂
  12. Good morning to all! Made it back to the beach yesterday afternoon. We left VA Sunday around noon with the plan of driving halfway and spending the night at a hotel in Poohler, GA. It turned out to be a great decision as traffic was miserable. We have typically found traveling on a holiday to be great traffic wise but not this year! I am happy to be home! So, a belated Happy New Years and best wishes for 2023 to all of you! Even though we have never met I feel like I know all of you as friends. I always look forward to reading about your OOTD, your travels, families, and, basically, just. your daily lives. Thank you! Sherri🙂
  13. The Wildman and aI are curled up in a chair watching a Christmas video. This is the quietest we have been since we got here on Wednesday. It is 8 degrees here in southern VA this morning but at least there is none of the forecasted snow or ice. Great pictures Melody! And your soup extravaganza sounds perfect for cold temps! Cynthia, enjoy the Florida “warmth”.😂. I think temps are supposed to be back to normal by early next week. Lois, sounds like a good idea to hibernate through the cold temps. Melissa, I hope you have a great Christmas. We FaceTimed with our son in Melbourne last night, they had on shorts and were planning to go out for a run. It is always funny to think it is summer during Christmas in Australia. Looks like video is over so we are now on the move. I think he is setting up a bowling game, so I am up! Kerp warm! Except for you, Melissa, keep cool! Sherri🙂
  14. We made it to VA last night, saw several accidents on the way up which was a little surprising as the roads were dry. Very rainy and cold here today but it looks like we are going to miss out on the snow and ice. And I guess we are missing out on temps in the low 30s at Satellite Beach! Wishing for everyone a very safe and Merry Christmas or Happy whatever holiday you celebrate! Stay warm! Sherri🙂
  15. Good morning to everyone! We got home yesterday morning and I spent the day doing laundry, grocery shopping and making the batter for my famous Christmas cookies!😂. We had a good cruise, lovely weather in all of the islands and just a relaxing experience, especially when compared to our river cruise which was go go go! You all sound as if you have been very busy! Lois, glad you got your insurance all figured out! Cynthia, congrats on getting a new laptop, this is something I need to start thinking about and shopping for one is, for me, on the same level as shopping for a new car and going to the dentist! Kat, the description of you driving adventures reminds me why we decided to make the move down here, no more snow and ice! Sharon, I know you are excited to have GD and family visit for the holidays and will have fun! Melissa, I hope you are doing well and enjoy the holidays. How is your cruise planning going? So busy week next week! We are planning to drive up to VA on Thursday, spend Christmas Eve with our oldest son, then drive up to northern VA Christmas Day to spend a few days or more with our youngest son. I have to bake and decorate the cookies, make a few other things to take, wrap the presents, and pack the suitcases again, only this time with WINTER clothes. Not looking forward to the 12 hour drive but very excited to see the grands, especially the two in northern VA as we have not spent anytime with them since July. OOTD: We are getting some last minute gifts (Total Wine) to take so I will put a little makeup on along with denim capris and a Gap tshirt. Do I ever wear anything else?😂. And flip flops! For the trip to VA I will switch to jeans with long sleeved Gap ts, and the Skechers I bought for the river cruise. And I will pull out the heavy winter coat, parka style with hood, that I will throw in the car and probably never wear. Usually, I just wear my Burton hoodie when we are up north. Have a great week! Sherri🙂
  16. Unless Jewel does not have the new times working yet, we were still able to use our vouchers for lattes in Latitudes this morning before we left the ship. Sherri🙂
  17. We are currently on Jewel, getting off tomorrow, and there are over 2200 passengers on board. This was the second week of a B2B and it definitely seemed more crowded than our first week. Sherri🙂
  18. We did but there was no fix, we gave up. I am not spending my vacation chasing a latte.😂 Sherri🙂
  19. We were told by the LA that we could get a free latte at Latitudes or the bar in WJ each day, however; when we asked at each, we were told no, we would have to use our vouchers which we did not want to do. We gave up and just went with the regular coffee. Sherri🙂
  20. We are currently on Jewel in the second week of a B2B and did not have CL access either week. The few times we have tried the DL, there were very few people there. Coffee machine stopped working the last two days of first cruise. A tech from the company came on board during turn around day but was unable to fix it as he did not have the needed part with him. He is supposed to come back on Saturday when we disembark so, hopefully, will have the correct part and can fix it!😂😂 We asked if we could use the machine in the CL and were told no. You can get regular coffee in the DL as that part of the machine is working but none of the specialty coffees, the milk pump needs replacing. Sherri🙂
  21. Currently on Jewel and have only gotten a receipt maybe 4 times in 5 days. And that is with 5 drinks per day! Sherri🙂
  22. I was quite surprised last weekend when we checked in at the terminal for Jewel that the agent did not ask us any questions about our current health, the closest he came to health was asking if we had been vaccinated and boosted. Did not want to see cards. I didn’t know if they have stopped asking or did he just forget to ask?😂 Sherri🙂
  23. We boarded Jewel yesterday. Sanitizer and 2 masks were on the desk.😂 Sherri🙂
  24. We didn’t, we booked it before Thanksgiving. We are sailing on Jewel of the Seas out of PortvCanaveral. Sherri🙂
  25. It’s always possible that she knew she was pregnant but unsure of date of conception or did not know she was pregnant but you are right, there is no way the baby could be less than 24 weeks. Sherri🙂
