Live from Solstice 10/1/23 Transpacific
Barwick Cruiser replied to tigervixxxen's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Just a suggestion however since they make the turkey club to order ask the staff when you’re ordering for some mozzarella to be added to your sandwich. They’re very accommodating and it’ll save you taking a salad apart for ingredients. -

Barwick Cruiser replied to rwright261's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Looking forward to more of your posts. Silhouette is my favourite S class ship, booked in May ‘24 for the Baltics. Hope you and DH enjoy a wonderful holiday and congrats on your 15th! What a great way to celebrate 🥂 -
Another Classic drinks package question - mocktails
Barwick Cruiser replied to rwright261's topic in Celebrity Cruises
They are included, up to the $ limit of the package. That said, smoothies are not included unless you have Premium or the Zero packages. -
Yeah, probably.

Curious, what is Select Dining Plus? We’ve only seen Fixed or Select..this Plus they’re advertising is new, or just to me? 🤷♀️

I’ll be following as well! We’re on the Silhouette in May for our 40th! Congratulations on your 15th…seems so long ago now for us 😂. Your itinerary sounds really nice and I’m sure you’ll get a few lovely relaxing days between the touring. Thanks for posting! -
Has the food choices and quality improved?
Barwick Cruiser replied to Nashna's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Sooo, you didn’t actually eat in the MDR? which is where most of the complaints are coming from. I imagine Blu is at a higher level and hasn’t experienced the cuts and lowered quality that seems predominantly occurring in the MDR. Is there a charge for room service for AQ passengers? Thanks for posting your experience tho, and glad you enjoyed your holiday! -

I will enjoy following along as well. They’ve given you nice long port times which will be helpful for any excursions you’ve got planned. If you’ve been on Eclipse or Equinox the Solstice has a similar layout. Do you plan to do any glass blowing? So much fun! Have a wonderful time and I hope the skies are clear and the seas are calm! 🥂🛳️ Cathy -

Just off the solstice to Alaska, my thoughts
Barwick Cruiser replied to FiremedicMike151's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It’s too bad you didn’t receive good service on your cruises. While the food quality/selection mentioned by some recent cruisers leaves a lot to be desired we’ve personally only ever had wonderful service from the hard working crew. So many went out of their way to please us and that’s what we truly remember from our holidays. Hopefully this never changes for us as that would be the proverbial straw. -
Equinox ABCs - 16 to 24 September 2023

Looks like you’re having a wonderful time, thank you for posting so we can follow along! Your risotto looks more like gnocchi 🤔 Dessert looked delicious 😋 -

Hope you enjoy a wonderful cruise…love the ABCs, especially Bonaire, did a fantastic snorkel there with Woodwind. What excursion/plans do you have for the ports? -
Headed to Alaska in a few hours!
Barwick Cruiser replied to FiremedicMike151's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Check out the Spa Cafe in the solarium area. It’s free for everyone, and serves nice little plates of food at breakfast and lunch. Great for days when you don’t want a big meal. The turkey club sandwich is made fresh to order and tastes good. Cathy -

Barwick Cruiser replied to FiremedicMike151's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Have done Alaska twice in September and very good weather both times. Lots of end of season sales in the ports. Had an aft balcony on Eclipse last year and spent so many hours watching for sea life…and yes, we saw lots! Check out the Hot Glass show…I made a sea turtle, great souvenir! Cheers! 🥂 -
Infinity is definitely going into dry dock!
Barwick Cruiser replied to seaside princess's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Very nice for you, DH and one son to be in a suite with all that entails, does the SV with your daughter and other son get the same access to Luminae and retreat or will you be dining with them in the MDR? -

That looks disgusting and is an insult to call it Canadian! I would’ve waited to eat onboard as well. Your hike looks great tho! Quite rugged with a nice view at the top. Was it as challenging as most anticipated? -

I’m curious as to what the mentioned “Canadian snacks” will be….poutine and beavertails? Don’t care for poutine myself 🤫 but occasionally enjoy a classic beavertail 😋 Hope you see some fall colours…they’ve def started although sporadic at the moment. Cathy -

Lemon tarts for dessert? They knew you were sailing! 😋😉 Were they even close to Al Bacio’s in taste? Sure look similar 🤷♀️ Such a great menu and perfect serving sizes…I’d still be quite full afterwards. -

Your beef lunch dish looks like perfect comfort food on a chilly day 😋. How did it taste? -
Goodness, I hope not. We’ve an AC flight booked for early Jan from YYZ to YVR to connect to an Air NZ flight. I was hoping this pilots strike situation would be resolved by then. 😬

Travel insurance, who do you use for trip interruptions etc
Barwick Cruiser replied to rowval's topic in Canadian Cruisers
We have medical through my husbands work, he’s retired now but still covered so for out of province/country trips we recently bought interruption/cancellation thru Costco. They use Manulife. We found it difficult to get just C&I insurance without buying medical as well. -
Still confused re. Classic vs. Premium drink packages
Barwick Cruiser replied to Jose Zalfadilla's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Premium coffees are those without alcohol, such as lattes, cappuccino, Americans etc. Once you add alcohol they become specialty coffees and are only covered by the premium package, or by paying the difference plus 20% if you have the classic package. A few of the alcohol coffees are covered by classic package but most aren’t. Adding a shot of Baileys to your coffee adds a cost of $1.20 if you’re on the classic package. -
Still confused re. Classic vs. Premium drink packages
Barwick Cruiser replied to Jose Zalfadilla's topic in Celebrity Cruises
And, for non alcohol drinks you pay the full price…waters, smoothies etc. We had the Classic package on our last cruise and even with the additional charges for purchases over the classic limit we didn’t come close to what it would’ve cost to upgrade. Obviously that’s a variable depending on what and how much you drink however keep in mind that you can just go with the classic and paying the up charge for a few days and then see whether it would pay to upgrade. Some days we might’ve broke even and other days, especially port days we didn’t come close. Ymmv.
