  1. Your comments are completely true. You also have to be careful about their specialty network. Say you have a problem and want to go to Boston because you feel you will get the best care there. Your Advantage plan might say no, you have to go to Providence because those doctors are part of their network. Oh well, too bad for you.
  2. I can't remember when Medicare changed from a flat rate to an income based tiered rate. It is something people should be better informed about. All it takes is one dollar to boost you into the next tier and Medicare costs you quite a bit more for a year.
  3. Medicare is based on your earnings two years ago which would be the last info they have on file as your rate is set before your tax return for the previous year is filed.
  4. Do kids these days even know how to climb a tree?
  5. I agree about Ocho Rios. We had a great visit there. I also never had an issue with the "street vendors" who were offering to sell their "wares". They quickly moved on with a simple "no thanks."
  6. There is no accounting for some of the seat choices that RCI has made. On Q class ships some of the seating in Two70 is terrible. The balcony chairs on Allure greatly reduced my time out there. I think whoever it is that makes the decisions is more into looks than function.
  7. I think this thread has convinced me that I don't want to go back to Disney. And to think that people were grumbling when Oasis came on line because they didn't want to have to plan ahead of time to reserve shows.
  8. Freedom used 18? That is good to know. 18 is designed to handle many more passengers than Freedom carries.
  9. I wrote to RCI after my last cruise on Odyssey. The sound level was so high at one of the shows that I found myself with some hearing impairment for over 24 hrs before it resolved. Apparently the folks running this cruise line don't care about the issue.
  10. I really enjoy just taking a walk over to Junkanoo as well as the waterfront area around Margherita Ville and the Straw Market. The distillery is a nice visit if you've never been. I don't really look for beaches to go to when traveling as I live down the street from the Atlantic Ocean. Here is what sold me on Nassau. One time we got there early on a Sunday when nothing was open. Decided to go to church at the cathedral. People were coming up to us and welcoming us there. During communion the bishop of Nassau actually stopped when I got to him and welcomed me to the cathedral. This all left an impression on me of the local people and provided me with insight that I'll never forget. I don't have a bad thing to say about the place. I love interacting with the local people of places I'm visiting.
  11. Balcony. Photos are generic by category and not specific to a particular cabin.
  12. This is the first time I've read info such as this.
  13. I'm one of the folks around here that likes Nassau. Looking forward to your posts.
  14. My problem is I'm used to the food at Labadee which I won't touch. So I was very taken aback by all of the very edible choices at Coco Cay. I didn't know how to pace myself.
  15. No worries. I tend to post in the same manner. I don't read through the thread first.
  16. I had a funnel cake only because I had read about them here. It was really good. I would have had a second but I was too full.
  17. There are two types of chicken sandwiches. I forget what they are called. One is much better than the other. If you ask for just "the chicken sandwich" you get the not so good one.
  18. Freedom used to have a nice card room up in the Crown that also had a grand piano that I used to enjoy playing. The last time I was aboard the area had been converted to the Suite Lounge.
  19. No idea why I thought they were big hot tubs? Either way, I've never been in a ship's pools or hot tubs.
