  1. After yesterday's difficulties I had a plan b in case I could not get a sunrise. Not great but a lot better than yesterday. This is from the school office building in my neighborhood and the sun while not just rising came brightly through the tree cover: Roy

  3. Prayers for Allen but thank God it was handled so well. Roy
  4. Thank you for the Sunday report, Rich. I wonder how many ships Trieste can handle. There are 2 other ships there now so I wonder if it's the same issue as the Oosterdam in Miami in November. I like the three days although I'm not a lot into spices. I find the quote a bit strange and will pass on the chickpeas. I had never even heard of today's port but see the 2023 Grand Africa is headed there. I have a feeling @grapau27 is at sea but see 2 logical choices for his ships so it's still a bit of a mystery. 5. Sounds like still Yacht Club gets good reviews. The ultimate "Caste System" Roy
  6. There are 4 days in September for which I do not have a sunrise, including today and tomorrow. I decided I would go all out to get one and headed off to my local parking garage. It turned out to be cloudy but I pressed on. Near the end of my walk the sun started to appear through the first break in the clouds. The real thing was somewhat better than what the camera shows, but I'm posting it because my bull headedness won out over common sense. Roy

  8. Thank you for the Saturday report, Rich. @grapau27, tailgating originated with US football games probably in about the 50's where a lot of people drove station wagons with tailgates (much like modern pickup trucks) and people would congregate in the stadium parking lot with lots of snacks and drop the tailgates of the wagons and have a party sharing fellowship, rooting for their teams, and sharing food. I suspect there were also a lot of adult beverages involved which would not be good news for the drive home after the game. Skyscrapers can be majestic and cinemas can probably use a day in post covid times. Been to Mindelo just once on my segment of the 2014 Amsterdam World Cruise. I'm with @Crazy For Cats that I would prefer the meal minus the pesto. 9. A sad day in Baltimore today. Captain Anthony Workman died today as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on his way to work. It can be considered a line of duty death. Roy
  10. Zuiderdam is in the channel but if we see her it won't be for long before she's obstructed. Roy
  11. Not sure if a Bon Voyage is possible. It would have gone out TOMORROW, and does not leave much time for setting it up. Bon Voyage anyway. Roy
  12. I agree, I have a feeling the refugees' next stop will not be nearly as nice but still better than being in Ukraine right now. Roy
  13. Welcome to the Daily/Fleet Report. I personally have no doubt Volendam is still engaged with Ukranian Refugees. While the flow of refugees has certainly slowed down, I doubt that many are going back and settling the ones that are here will take some time. I would also think that if a ship was used for training it would likely often head out to sea. Roy
  14. Happy Anniversary @marshhawk. Somehow I missed that one. @Quartzsite Cruiser that sounds promising on the medical front. I realized that while I have not been to A Coruna on my very first European Cruise (Crystal Symphony 1996) I visited Santiago de Compostela from Vigo. Roy
  15. Today's sunrise is another from my 2012 QM2 crossing on the way to a return Crystal Symphony transatlantic. On September 2 we had passed the midpoint of the crossing: Roy

  18. Thank you for the TGIF report, Rich. A great collection of days, celebrating VJ and especially celebrating out food banks. I love the quote but have not been to A Coruña.
