  1. Hmmm. Seems we have moved from the loss of the military discount when booking suites using the Zenith cruise only rate to the solo supplement😂
  2. Agree, the fun of a new ship is exploring, being surprised and going Oh WOW‼️ Enjoy your cruise.
  3. Ruth, I was so happy to be able to upgrade after final payment with the Cruise Only Z rate ($1600 less than regular). This was just a few days before we left that I didn’t look at the invoice. I just looked and the Military discount was no longer there. I booked with a TA and the reservation number did not change.
  4. We just got off the Edge. We chose not to order any wine in the Retreat Lounge as they seemed to be sticking to those on the Lounge menu. We drank Haslinger’s or cocktails. In Luminae we just let the Sommelier pick ones that paired with what we were ordering. The majority were good, only rejected 2 or 3 of those offered in 17 nights. The only time we had a upcharge was the night we ordered Red Condundrum and we were charged $9 total. Interestingly we ordered Red Condundrum 2x in specialty restaurants and did not get charged the extra $. I don’t bother with the wine list any longer and don’t worry about what the retail price of a bottle is either. If I like it I drink, if it extra then I’ll pay. As it relates to upcharges, we were an upscale restaurant last night. Lobster 5oz, with mashed potatoes & veggie $49. Extra lobster $44.
  5. I also noticed that the military discount was not applied when I did mock bookings with the Zenith cruise only pricing.
  6. You are correct that you lose the Concierge lunch on embarkation day but you can have lunch in Luminae on embarkation day instead.
  7. Bring your own binoculars if you plan to see much.
  8. There have been PUP opportunities and webinars but nothing that is currently open. Follow the link that @TourDeCruise posted going forward.
  9. I sent one request for all our bookings for the year. This year I sent it at the beginning of January for a late January cruise, an April B2B and an October B2B. Three days later the OBC was applied to each booking, easy peasy.
  10. I was there, we were never within a ships length of shore from our view.
  11. Jim is on the Solstice not the Edge. We were on the ship on our balcony. There was never any thing to cause us to be concerned. We were close to land but still in what appeared to be deep water. The ship was turning very very slowly, not spinning or doing donuts as some seem to think.
  12. There are some laundry packages now that you can purchse via the Cruise Planner under Gifts and Gear. We just got off a 18 N sailing and I didn’t see any “fill the bag” laundry offers although I wasn’t specifically looking for any.
  13. Don’t believe everything you read, and certainly not what you read on social media.
  14. Yes they do sometimes award bid early. We had a sailing at early May and some MU bids were awarded just after mid February.
  15. The shows are normally 40-45 minutes. What isn’t consistent is what time the shows start. We have been on 6 cruises in the past 5 months and the start time on some sailing was 7 &9 other sailings the shows were 7:30 and. 9:30. I can’t explain why, maybe someone else can.
  16. ^^^^^ this is the current wine allowance.^^^
  17. Another perk, when I looked at PA. was priority tendering, which has no value on sailing where ship docks or for Elite and above as it is a Captains Club perk.
  18. Or anywhere else on the ship with a beverage package.
  19. Just a tip, have your preferred dates and times written down along with alternative dates and times. As often prime times or dates are not available. So having a backup option makes the process easier
  20. Have they all purchased a specialty dining package? if so then it is a matter have making the reservations with names & cabin numbers of everyone. If not then it might be a bit more complicated as each party would be charged for the reservation, but I’m sure the concierge can help.
  21. We were on the Ascent in January. Our favorite of all the Celebrity ships.
  22. There are stretching classes, Pilates and other classes. No Silver Sneakers if that is what they are used to, but some basic classes.
