Interesting, you called out my comments as meaning very little as before the new owner. However a more positive post re a pre pandemic experience is meaningful 🤔
-
Thanks for offering your option.
-
No. Just before the pandemic. BTW the ship sailed full, so the dead venues were not for lack of passengers.

Some will be wearing tuxedos but the majority won’t be in formal dress. We have done some cruises in Asia and didn’t feel that passengers there dressed up to a greater extent than most other areas. Luggage restrictions being a contributing factor. As for white night type party: could be or a full moon party, white party, shine party or if there is a holiday then a party around that. I wouldn’t worry about bringing something wear for a 45-60 minute deck party, most won’t be for the theme.

You will be contacted a few weeks before sailing by a Shoreside Concierge who will handle you dining reservations. Your Butler, once on the ship or the Retreat Concierges can also add or change any reservations. No need to book ahead.

We did one Azamara cruise a few years ago for the itinerary. We never returned. We had to wait 15 - 50 minutes to be seated every night in the dining room. In 10 nights we only got seated in the same area with same team twice. Food quality was good but it was never served hot. The included wine was 👎. Bars were empty, 4-7p.m in the Living Room every evening there was a table of 5-6 off to one side and no more than 6 other people in there. Sunset Bar was even less busy. The Captain and Officers were visible and engaging, service excluding MDR was excellent. Just not a good fit for us.

The outdoor restaurant on the Eclass ships, including the beyond it the Roof Top Grill. Similar concept but different menu and pricing than the Lawn Club Grill on the Reflection and Silhouette.
-
There are options to purchase a set number of bottles (12?) premium water in the Cruise Planner. I think the OP is referring to that option
-
For our coming sailing the price of the Lawn Grill is $50. The price does not include the 20% gratuity that will be added. So at regular price 1 adult & 1 child with gratuity is $72.

Some costs could well be covered, but deciding to stay 3 night vs returning the next day is questionable. The trip was a birthday celebration, seems like they decided to make the best of a bad situation and stay a few days. I may have done the same thing. But the hotel, food, Uber and car rental costs for extra nights doubtful. They initially paid for accommodations and food in the cruise fare- they got that back, so no loss for insurance to cover beyond the 1 day.

Lawn Grill is very close to Sunset bar, which is normally as Elite HH bar option. The Elite HH hour drinks are not available in any dining room or restaurant. You could grab a drink before going for dinner and carry it in with you.

Are there USB ports on the nightstands on Apex?
jelayne replied to chamima's topic in Celebrity Cruises
The one in the phone often goes unnoticed. I have charged my phone with the bedside one many times. -
Was the drink package a separate purchase or did you book a fare that included the drink package? . If it was separate purchase then you should be able to cancel and repurchase at the lower price but note @jwlane points that a 20% gratuity will be added to cost at check-out. If you booked with a bundled fare then you would have to have the entire cruise repriced which may be more costly.

What a mess! when you paid the deposit and final payments for the cruise did you payments go direct to Celebrity or do your credit card statements show payments going to the travel agent? Did you receive any emails, electronic travel documents, booking confirmation directly from Celebrity or documents created by Celebrity and forwarded by the travel agent? Did your reservation ever show up when you created and logged into your Celebrity account?

We find a wait team and Sommlier we like and stick with them. Have been on the Beyond 2x recently and found the same wait team and sommlier for both cruises. 1st sailing they were in Normandie the 2nd in Tuscan. Food all comes from the same place, all items are available in all 4 MDRs so the difference is primarily decor and service.

You reminded me that every E Class ship has single use men & women’s bathrooms in the Retreat Lounge.

You may want to reach out to the Special Needs department, they may have the info you need.

Thoughts on Silhouette if in a standard cabin?
jelayne replied to TGfromTX's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Many write about booking suites or Aqua class but the reality is 87% of the cabins on the Silhouette are standard cabins. Passengers in those cabins are the vast majority of passengers who have a large beautiful ship to enjoy, very good food, entertainment and activity options, excellent service and a crew that wants every passenger to enjoy their cruise. -
Texting shipmates on Celebrity Beyond
jelayne replied to Purple Gallinule's topic in Celebrity Cruises
We were on the beyond a month ago, never saw or heard a word about using WhatsApp to reach the butler. I even had DH download the app but the only contact info we had for the butler was a phone extension, which he promptly answered. -
You might way to check FB, IG, Tik Tok or other sites to see if they post their schedule.

We have been on the Beyond 3x and didn’t see a flower kiosk anywhere, but we weren’t looking for one. We did pass Guest Service daily on the way from the a martini Bar to dinner and back. I haven’t seen a flower place on a Celebrity ship in a few years.

Cruise planner doesn't show upgrade to premium beverage option
jelayne replied to catspaw1's topic in Celebrity Cruises
IT issues with Celebrity are not uncommon. Shoreside and on board experiences are totally different. Fortunately the on board experience is great. -
Cruise planner doesn't show upgrade to premium beverage option

Since it was there and disappeared apparently a IT glitch. Guess it time to call. -
Cruise planner doesn't show upgrade to premium beverage option
jelayne replied to catspaw1's topic in Celebrity Cruises
In order for the upgrade option to show the initial beverage packages must be shown under Oder History in your Cruise Planner. Sometimes when booking a AI rate your Booking a confirmation show the package but it hasn’t yet been added to the CP. Sometimes takes days, sometimes a long time. The easiest way to get this added is to call you TA if booked through one and have get it added. If you booked direct then call Celebrity and tell them you are considering upgrading and the option isn’t showing yet, they can fix.
