  1. Corporate said it was reducing costs and to reduce food waste...If they claimed it was ONLY to reduce waste, which is "greenwashing", what are they doing with the left over buffet food after breakfast and lunch (rhetorical)?
  2. It was rarely over 70f so I would recommend at least a hoodie and it gets colder at night. The A/C worked perfectly
  3. 100% agree, we can't be disappointed that someone didn't read every single post when we're already on page 261
  4. Off the Solstice on the Feb 4th-11th sailing, we stayed in AQ and wanted to write a review, supposedly it was at 53% passenger capacity. San Pedro Embarkation…Showed up at 2:05pm, porters were still there and there were no passengers to be seen either outside or at check in. There were about half dozen people at the Xray/security line but was pretty much able to walk right on. On board…Immediately completed the muster station check in, then went to the room and met our cabin steward. We requested no canapes and to empty the mini fridge during turndown. Our AQ fitness amenities weren’t there and she explained she’s out of most things but got us a kettle bell and dumbbell. Love the panel shower in AQ staterooms and you receive upgraded toiletries. Status gave us free laundry but just a FYI they offered the $49.95 laundry special on the morning Day 3. Spa..With AQ, you get spa access. Generally we’d go to the fitness center then visit the spa, while we’re still sweaty from the gym we hit the steam room, then shower then enjoy the loungers. I’ll usually visit the steam room a couple more times. Food venue selection, did not visit the MDR or any specialties. Most days we ate at Blu for breakfast and dinner, we did the buffet breakfast the mornings we visited Cabo due to the early arrival and the last morning as we try to squeeze in as much sleep as possible. We visited three ports and always ate lunch and/or dinner when in port. If you happen to be in San Diego at 4pm Ruth Chris opens and has a great happy hour. OV Buffet…Breakfast was great although it could be difficult to find an open table despite it being just over half capacity. We did all on ship lunches in the OV café, it can be pretty chaotic and difficult to find a table, yet we learned if you show up 5mins before they open (1155am) you can get a table and some stations are open. We did one dinner in the buffet and as already reported, they have three stations open, one being pizza and pasta, one being salad and desserts and one with the very few hot food items. Blu…Never any issues for breakfast and for dinner service was great but the dinner menu selection and quality was pretty hit or miss and more often than not was a miss. The filet mignons which were offered on two nights were surprisingly excellent, I’d say as good as any steak I’ve had on X including specialty restaurants like Fine Class on the E-Class. Overall, it was enjoyable to get away from home and out onto the sea.
  5. 2020-present I've spend over a 100 nights in hotels. I did see some reduction of services in 2020 generally with no-daily housekeeping and the on site restaurant(s) had reduced hours and/or menus but all seemed to return to normal in 2021. A third of my stays were in the FLL area In 2020 the worst hotels were the ones who didn't have daily housekeeping and wouldn't let you pick up additional towels/toiletries/coffee pods from the front desk, you had to call housekeeping, wait a half hour for them to deliver them and of course delivery person is fishing for a tip with a sob story. The better hotels would offer you additional items like towels at check in
  6. Bottom line is it should be fixed once on board. It's possible the hours themselves are accurate but the SHIP TIME is off by a couple of hours
  7. We have declining food quality, declining food options and increased fares which decreases the overall value. Now I'll be comparing X's pricing (aka overall value) to Virgin, RCL and MSC for the first time ever
  8. A new craft social bar, new decor everywhere (lots of gray) and the ability to use your phone as a room keycard
  9. Sorry for this as it must be disappointing, Call and ask for compensation and maybe they'll throw ya an OBC or something From google: "A distant foreign port is a port further than the nearby foreign ports. These ports must be outside of the Bahamas, Bermuda, Central America, North America and West Indies. The port of Bonaire, Curacao and the Netherland Antilles are, however, considered as distant foreign ports. Currently, an exception is applied to Puerto Rico."
  10. Just sharing the process; called the capts club, after being put on hold three separate times, the rep claimed she sent an email and I can expect them by the end of next month. Didn't have any kind of reference/confirmation number so will just have to wait
  11. To determine if you received points or not, go here, log in...https://www.celebritycruises.com/my-captains-club/benefits scroll down, click history...If you see BONUS POINTS you did receive them, if not, sounds like we have to call the capt club
  12. I’m actually missing mine for a cruise that started and ended this month
  13. They quietly updated the article...TPG has always been a bit clickbait-ish...Contributors see an article on yahoo, do minimal research and post with a click-bait title. Even worse they often re-publish old articles such as cruising tipping amounts by cruise line which are outdated
  14. It seems the kids filet is only a small minority of the ships. Over the past six months I was told it's no longer available on the Solstice, Millie, Infinity and Equinox
  15. Admins on CC have admitted a decline in food quality. It's been a triple wammy, less food quality, less selection (in the MDR, ribeye, wellington and prime rib are gone) and higher fares. A retreat manager has stated X has changed to a less costly beef supplier except for the specialty
  16. Corporate has stated it's also cost cutting so at least it's not 100% greenwashing although the more creative solution would have been to develop new recipes people would enjoy therefore no waste. The buffets during dinner time were reduced but X has stated they'll open additional stations
  17. Yup. Can't you get a spa pass in any room for like $200? Personally, I don't understand the Concierge class at all but to each their own
  18. That’s prob a gambling marker/line of credit so you don’t have to bring cash a board. You don’t need to do that, you are registered
  19. Seems like they’re getting more aggressive with the dynamic pricing model. Start initial pricing high and progressively lower the pricing if occupancy isn’t where it needs to be. Currently X is actively pricing the Mexican Rivera sailings at “fire sail” levels
  20. Compare the pricing between FBC and an airfare site like kayak/google flights. With FBC after final payment they do charge a $200 change fee while booking with the airline does not have this fee
  21. It's an unique perk that's rare as CCL, RCL, NCL and princess do not offer free drinks while playing to players without casino status. The double edge sword is when the competition offers a comped room, they'll come with perks like free drinks anywhere on the ship, paid tips and wifi. Some give you additional perks like priority boarding. X on the other hand, when they offer comped rooms they do not include any perks
  22. It doesn't matter how much you win or lose, it's how much you bet. 20K+ is pretty good specifically on a lower house edge game like BJ, I would have thought that would have been enough for free rooms but their requirements are kept secret and frequently change
  23. It’s whenever the casino is open when you’re playing. It is true the free drinks are listed in the dailies/app yet this mirrors the casino hours Guessing they do that to prevent folks from walking in when closed and demanding a drink
