  1. Got the same email today....sail on Saturday. Also have not received THAT email......for either this cruise, the next 2 in 2023 or the next one in 2024... I'm in the U.S. Booked the 2023 ones direct and the 2024 one through a CVP.
  2. Never seen it...but.... Based on the most recent experiences, it might be risky to buy an 'on sale' drink package....you never know what it will actually include by the time you sail....
  3. You still have the Plus plan (the old version). You only need to upgrade IF you want all the "NEW" features, some of which used to be free. You can also pay for only those things when/if you use them, which for most people is cheaper than upgrading.
  4. This really makes no sense.....did you go look in the buffet to confirm? That's what I would do. All this would accomplish is horrendous crowds at the International Cafe.....
  5. Yeah...not the way it happened for me and DH.....but these days it seems like a proposal has to be an 'event' .... I think it makes it a lot more difficult for the guy---or whichever one is doing the proposing... Finally found something that says the cost is $795. It doesn't seem worth it to me.....but DS wants to make her happy....so.....? I suppose the cost is associated with the people involved in the setup. One would hope the 'Stateroom gifts and goodies" wouldn't be there until after the proposal. It's her first cruise, so I figured he can't go wrong no matter what he does....but what do I know? 🤷‍♀️
  6. Just found out DS is planning on popping the question to his girlfriend on a cruise next year. He's trying to decide a 'good' way to do it. Has anyone had any experience with this package? Was it worth it?
  7. THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!! I thought I recalled that it screwed off, but had a hard time doing it so thought maybe I was wrong. Once you confirmed that for me, I got it to work! It seemed like almost a press and turn motion, but got it done. Perfect. Thanks!
  8. I have one of the sustainable wrist straps to hold my medallion. I just got my medallion in the mail for my next cruise. I am not quite sure how to take the medallion from the last cruise out and put the new one in. It's been a while since my last cruise. I don't want to break it. It seems like it is magnetized in, but is there a way to pop it out, or does it unscrew somehow? Thanks for your help!

  10. One would think that would be the case. YMMV. On our last cruise (one cabin), I set it up, my name was first, it was my credit card and yet, DH could see my account and his. However, I could only see my own.....sheesh... 🤷‍♀️
  11. When you go to the meeting place for the excursion, just all go together. That way if there are multiple buses, you can tell them there are x number of people in your party and they will be sure to get you on the bus together. Just be sure to book the same times if there are multiple times available when doing the booking of the excursion.
  12. b Book now. If the price drops, you can call and request a re-fare. You have to watch for it and request it. It won't happen automatically. The only thing that could happen is that if you book with some perks like onboard credit, you might lose them if that isn't included in the offer with the price drop. So, just keep that in mind when you are deciding to request a re-fare. All this would be as long as you aren't past the final payment date. Once you do final payment, you are for the most part locked in.....That being said, there are rare situations where some have managed to get perks after final payment, but I wouldn't count on it. Having said all that, I see that you are from Portugal.....the rules I outlined are from the U.S. I have no idea what rules are booking from your country.....
  13. We previously have always used WiFi calling. Last summer we had some issues with that...don't know why exactly. We also have WhatsApp and for some reason that worked better than WiFi calling last summer. The only downside to that is whoever you are calling also needs to have WhatsApp installed where WiFi calling you can call anyone and they aren't even aware you are using it.
  14. Yup. Separate credit cards. I think the issue was that I signed up, bought 5 cards and then a day or 2 later bought a couple more. You never know what the algorithms are that they are using, but it sure took me by surprise.....

  16. Just a heads up for people doing this. DH has had an AARP account for many years so we had just been buying through his account. After someone on here suggested setting the spouse up as a separate account under AARP Rewards, I did that. It happened that I did it at the end of June and purchased a couple gift cards ($500) under my name in addition to the 5 we had bought in June under DHs account. When it became July, I started buying again (because I was coming up on a final payment). The purchases on my account apparently triggered a security alert. They processed one of them and then sent me an email to call them. They were very nice and just verified my information. It did cause a delay of a few days before those last gift cards came through. So, just be advised that you might want to step a bit slowly after you set up a new account..... 😉
  17. Are you asking where you find it on the AARP website? If so, From post #222: "Go to AARP Rewards, click on Discover, click Redeem, click on All Rewards, and then scroll down until you see the Princess gift cards. You may have to establish an AARP Rewards account and then login to AARP Rewards to do this, I am not sure because I have had an AARP Rewards account for a long time." If that's not your question....maybe ask again a little more clearly?
  18. I 'get' that changes are going to happen. Most of the changes are not that big a deal to me. However, it really irks me that because I booked early (as Princess always encourages) and booked the Plus-50 package, I now have to upgrade and pay more (which isn't logical for a 14 day cruise) to receive the benefits that existed at the time I booked....and this all happens within a month of my cruise. Had Princess done the logical rational consumer-friendly thing and grandfathered in the old Plus packages, I wouldn't be so annoyed.
  19. ..and did it actually arrive? how long did it take? Inquiring minds want to know..... 😃 We've been about 50/50 the few times we've used it whether or not it will actually show up....
  20. Interesting. I went from Green to Blue. I noticed my Personal Information button was no longer filled in (it was yesterday). I clicked into it and my Emergency Contact information that has been there for many cruises seems to have disappeared. I updated it and now am back to Green....

  23. I'm not surprised. Not a lot of quality control going on at Princess unfortunately... The 2025 South America ones were originally $80 pp/pd for Plus when they were released.... They have since corrected them. Always a good idea to do your own Math to make sure you are paying what you expect. If you were thinking of cruising premier, I'd say call Princess and see if they can correct it. You might also want to do a mock booking and see if it actually does over-charge or not.... You never know....
  24. I ordered my Medallions for future cruises before this change was made so I haven't been charged anything yet. I have family cruising in February with the Plus-50 package. Will they be charged for shipping with the old Plus package? It's hard to keep track these days..... 🤷‍♀️
  25. In my mind, the main point here is that now you know why THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to the crew members is to mention them in the survey. Apparently, that is what impacts their reviews and likely bonuses, which seem like they are coming from these auto-tips. We had one crew person who bent over backwards at the PES cocktail hour telling us how important it was for him to get mentioned in the survey. We have often taken pictures of crew including their name tag so we remember their name when we do the survey after we get home.
