  1. They might bring back Planks & Steamers.
  2. Where do you live (your location is not showing with your profile icon)? Are you concerned because Standard Fare guests have been recently blocked from ordering Medallions mailed? I am not sure if anyone has inquired of Princess if this was something deliberate or just another one of those bugs. Speculation has been partly wondering if it had to do with them trying to fix the App from charging guests for shipping who have Plus or Premier. Anyway, whatever you did before was meaningless. You could have showed up for check-in anytime. Especially as an Elite level guest. You would know this if following this Forum over the past couple of years. Princess has now officially got rid of the Arrival Groups and guest can show up anytime for check-in up to the latest time shown in the Travel Summary. Priority boarding is only meaningful (and ever was this way) if the guest has shown up prior to start of general boarding. In this case, you are seated in a special room or area and given a group card (not sure if they still do that part). The Elites and Suites are called first when boarding opens. Once the waiting passengers have cleared the terminal waiting areas - which doesn't take long - then all guests arriving later for check-in just proceed right onto the ship. So, show up early in Vancouver - or anywhere else - if you want to be among the first onto the ship. Now, I have never sailed from Vancouver, but I understand it can be a big pain - and that isn't going to change. I believe I have read that everyone sailing on a day - and there could be another ship or two - passes through the same customs and security area. This is unique for any port I have read about or been to myself. You aren't going to get any special cruise line handling until you reach your cruise line check-in area of the terminal. No doubt whatever PCL has said about changing the check-in process is going to end up being fine tuned. Several folks on here have reported arriving at terminals and Blue lane line is shorter due to so many having Medallions. Also, the VP Sales said guest can be serviced in any lane, so just pick the short line. Or look and see if they still have some agents dedicated to priority guests. I think you are worrying about nothing much here and there are ways to get around it. But Vancouver can be a mess and nothing Princess can do about it based on the setup and process. ETA: If you or anyone else used to show up at 11:30am per Arrival Group A, I should think you would find lots of people there ahead of you, already checked in and general boarding already started. Sorry, but those groups were a joke almost from Day 1. Also, you still get priority boarding, regardless of the lane on your new Boarding Pass. But you have to be there early enough for it to mean anything - and that has not changed at all.
  3. The new Princess Bed coming soon if not on a package: ETA: There is a $20 "chaffing fee" if guest brings their own extra straw.
  4. Wow. This is the first time I have seen someone describe the new Princess Bed as like concrete. With the old mattresses I read that word sometimes.
  5. I was correcting the dollar amount you had indicated. Many folks have received $10 credit after purchasing Plus on board using OBC. It has not been clear from every post, but was from a couple. They should not be giving each of the two guests $10 since there is one shipping fee involved (normally). If each of the two guests buying Plus/Premier on board gets $10 credit, that is a bonus.
  6. We would go to Slices for that in any case. Wouldn't be interested in sitting down, placing an order, waiting, etc. Just grab it from Slices for a quick snack.
  7. Tip for you - and anyone else. Before pasting in a photo or video capture, hit the Enter key 2-3 times to create some blank lines. Then, move cursor to top again and paste. Or, type text and hit extra Enter key strokes to create blanks lines. The blank lines will follow the pasted item and you can move cursor (mouse point) to the blank lines that are at the end and carry on typing more text.
  8. I'd save my money for a dinner. We have not done UBB. Don't really care to spend a lot on a fancy breakfast. Just our personal thing. Reports are that it is good and you can probably skip eating again until dinner.
  9. How long is your voyage? 😉 Oh, forget it now. I see you are bringing four suitcases and not just two.
  10. No. You must be kidding, right? A single $10 credit is possible. Medallions are shipped together - one charge to the person ordering.
  11. Actually it goes back about 2 years. Perhaps they have a different definition of a promise. Now they say it is really coming for sure. We shall see. It's not like they need a whole new process.
  12. And sorry to inform you that still another incorrect figure which was on the draft menus. Reports from a pre-Royal Class ship and a Royal Class ship indicate that Pizza a la carte is $8.50.
  13. It's unreal that they ever put out this fantasy view of the check-in other than at the initial launch during Covid. Medallions are coming to Canada, UK, Australia, NZ. ETA: We may never know their full intentions. The whole process was invented due to the pandemic and may have been a response to CDC recommendations for returning to sea.
  14. They have re-packaged things for the website since the roll-out webinar. In that webinar, it was much clearer about the various types of casual dining. When I poke around the dining pages, they seem to pretty much hide and ignore all the for-fee dining places and don't list them. They've got Salty Dog, O'Malley's, etc under SD section and they specifically were calling those Casual Dining now and not SD. I think it is another left-hand/right-hand thing - or they are re-branding the groups without correcting themselves. I was going by the webinar information, plus a document summarizing the dining options. All I can say.
  15. I presume you are looking in the Princess App. Your Travel Summary is the place of record you might call it, but Princess has not update that text as yet. You have old Plus ($50), so you don't get the new things unless upgrade for $10/pp/day. But you do get drink limit of $15 (and don't accept anything less as you can see in terms for the Plus Fare Package).
  16. They have not updated Travel Summary information as yet. They have said nothing about this. We might expect them to do so - eventually.
  17. There is a complete PDF on Princess.com under dining page(s). You can also check the deck plans on Princess.com. Casual Dining is divided into "for free" and "for fee". Casual Dining in general is anything where they serve food that isn't the MDR or SD (Specialty Dining).
  18. The new packages are purchased any time Dec 14, 2022 onwards.
  19. 3FF!! S&S never worked for me. I booked under it once and did it by excluding the promo (no beverages or something like that for OBC). I later changed to another promo for better deal. Yes, I know, and everyone knows by now, we don't do drink packages. But I had to mention the old 3FF promo. Then there was the Anniversary promo as well.
  20. Right, but we are one and the same for Princess in market sectors.
  21. I don't know that I would be blaming Oracle - they have great database software and applications. IDK all the situation of course, but it is more likely a people resource issue and not the database software. I gather you are stating that Cap Gemini is now the provider of IT resources for Ocean project? If so, I would say that this is at least the second large IT resource company that I am aware of PCL using. It is certainly a common thing that many companies do - hire on one of the largest 5 or so IT outfits on the basis that they are professionals and do this all the time, etc. Who knows if they had any experience in the area. What these companies do is bring some all-stars during pre-sales and then the project is largely staffed with lower-end experience staff or overseas resources and managed by one or two more experienced types. They have ways to bump up billable hours as that is a goal. I worked with more than one of the big players on projects in my career (not as an employee) and I was least impressed with the encounter with Cap Gemini, but of course that is based on one encounter and a relatively small number of their resources. One of my best projects occurred with a large US organization where one of the "Big Five" had been fired and they re-staffed the project with all independents. This was largest project I ever worked on and there were about 100 of us and about 100 of the organization's own employees also involved. There are a lot of boutique consulting firms that can dance circles around the big players. But, like trying to find a great TA, it can be a process. There is an old saying in IT: "No one gets fired for going with IBM".
  22. Yup. I guess this is what they are doing to some of us now. I deleted my post as I realized I already knew the answer.
