  1. If you are working with a HAL rep (PCC) or TA, contact them directly and they will make the arrangements. If you booked direct online, try contacting Ship Services, although they may not be able to do anything until closer to the sailing date. Last resort is to go directly to the main dining room or reservations desk, when you board, and make the arrangements through them. HAL_Ship_Services@hollandamerica.com 800.541.1576
  2. Log into your booking and in the daily itinerary you can purchase specialty dining. If you are asking about MDR reservations then that will appear on the first page of your booking confirmation and will be stamped on your ship card. There is also a staffed kiosk onboard where you can make reservations. The location will be in your When & Where.
  3. Have seen “live” thread people reporting they are only paying the difference. Quite possibly a gradual rollout. You can definitely upgrade onboard but I’ve seen where it’s a $4 variation. This thread can get you started.
  4. Go to Walmart and pick up a bottle of Downy Wrinkle Releaser. Then head to the travel section of the Pharmacy department and pick up a travel size. (Refill the travel size from the big bottle when it’s low.) You can add water to the travel bottle to top it up while you’re traveling and it will still work. Pack it in a ziploc bag. Your life will never be the same.

  6. Related question: We will be in Seattle and are considering either an itinerary from there or from Vancouver. May I ask what the cost for the shuttle is and whether it has to be taken on the day of the cruise or could you get one a day or two sooner? Thank you to anyone who knows.

  9. Just take a screenshot of the confirmation with your tablet so you have access to it without requiring WiFi. I have never printed an ArriveCAN confirmation; I just show the electronic receipt to whoever needs to see it.
  10. Depends how long your cruise is. If only a week, I wouldn’t do it. Probably would for 2+ weeks. I like the Vistas but I also like the Verandahs. You get a few extra feet of space and it’s nice to have a sitting room close to the door for room service orders. I like the bed further away from the hall on the Vistas. Either option is a good choice.

  13. Ugh. Spent 2.5 hours at Heathrow just checking in. Needed the full 4 hours we allotted to get through to the gate. This was in April. Luckily you’re starting in MAN. Would love to know how things go. I’ll be back at MAN in September. All the best, and have a great trip!
  14. The Customs Declaration is the card they used to distribute on the flight prior to landing. It is a requirement of entry. You can now submit it through ArriveCAN or at the kiosk upon arrival.
  15. My parents went with Blue Cross. If I recall correctly, annual plans are not an option for people with health issues in combination with age. Anyway, they were happy with the coverage and the cost.

  19. Your port of entry is the first stop in Canada (assuming Victoria). If Vancouver is the disembarkation port immediately following Victoria, you only need the one ArriveCAN submission. (Victoria)

  22. My daughter and SIL just flew into YYZ today. Waited TWO HOURS for their luggage. They’re finally in the car and on their way home now. Flew AC.

  24. I think I may have missed some previous posts. We are dealing directly with Avalon so have not experienced any problems thus far. Certainly nothing such as you are dealing with. Is it a bricks & mortar agency which you can physically visit to deal with the issues? This is one of the many reasons I prefer not to go through a third party.
