  1. There is a recent rule-change where the corkage fee is now applied to all bottles of champagne and wine brought on board. Previously, we could bring one per person without a corkage fee. If you didn’t drink it in your room, however, you would be charged the corkage.
  2. Agree with @Florida_gal_50. When we rent cabanas we are told there may be times, in the evening, that we won’t be allowed in due to private functions. Have never seen one so I am dying to find out what it’s about. You need to go and report back!
  3. Wow. The aft Neptunes are definitely much smaller than the ones by the lounge on the NA. I am like @Djptcp… I much prefer the ones by the lounge and I much prefer the ones on a non Pinnacle-class ship.
  4. The only outlet in our entire room (OV) was above the desk. I brought a multi-port charger so we didn’t have to take turns. You can see a European outlet next to the North American one in this pic:
  5. We (my parents, my sister, and myself) tried Princess — specifically, the Sky Princess — in March/April of this year. It was a lovely ship and we really enjoyed Alfredo’s and the piazza concept. They also had some excellent Nova Scotia lobster on one of the gala nights. In addition, their entertainment was varied and very well done. Unfortunately, their trivia was so well attended that we could never join in because it was in a small venue with people jammed in and standing room only into the halls. Their beds were amazing. We missed: - Traditional dining (the Princess reservation system was a disaster and the medallion technology only worked to open your cabin door.) - A full wraparound prom which didn’t end midship. In addition, most of Princess’ prom was one person wide with a view blocked by lifeboats. - A smart TV that worked, with great programming. - A well organized embarkation process. - A covered Lido deck for inclement weather. - A forward view. Princess had one but you had to purchase access to it. - The Sky Princess had a tiny (and I mean tiny) aft section with the smallest pool I have ever seen. The room service menu on Princess was abysmal. Breakfast was one “hot” item, which was a really horrible egg McMuffin type sandwich. The International Cafe food was terrible. We gave it 3 tries, because everyone raves about it, but it was truly awful. I think the MDR and buffet food are on par. Staff on HAL most definitely trump staff on Princess. There were some standouts, but I’d say that a large portion of the Princess staff most definitely hated their jobs and the company they worked for. “Service-oriented” wasn’t in their vocabulary. The Sky Princess ship focused on the interior, while the HAL ships focus on the sea. Our preference is to sail with HAL. Forgot to add that there was zero internet available throughout the entire voyage. We all got our money back in OBC.
  6. You might be looking at the old Rotterdam, which did have the full prom with steamer chairs. The new Rotterdam has a narrower wraparound prom, without the chairs. The trade-off is that you get the music walk, additional eating establishments, and awesome walk-in glass showers.
  7. I would book Vancouver then. It’s really an experience he doesn’t want to miss. Especially for his 60th! And now you have reminded me to find my video. lol
  8. If you can’t get a flight when you arrive, not a big loss. Victoria is a beautiful city to spend time in. Enjoy.
  9. The first time I ever saw this pending charge, I called my bank in a panic because it was only weeks since I’d experienced a credit card theft. They told me it was just a hold and it would drop off after a couple of days if no purchases were made. I no longer panic when/if I see it. 😂
  10. If you log into your HAL account you can see if it’s listed now.
  11. Hopefully you took a pic of the form you filled out. They are supposed to drop off a confirmation prior to your disembarkation. Sometimes you will see it after the fact but I no longer trust them since they didn’t process one of ours (my husband’s). Took a copy of it on my next cruise because it was just a few weeks later and had a chat with the onboard cruise consultant. She said she didn’t think she could do anything about it because he wasn’t currently on this cruise with me, but she gave Seattle a call and they honored it. Lesson learned.
  12. We stayed at the Admiral too! It ranks as one of my top favourite hotels in the world, but you’ve got to like quirky and history. Its onsite restaurant and bar are excellent. As @roxybear135 says, the location is perfect and is in a nice, walkable, area.
  13. It’s not hard; it just takes research. Contact your hotel and ask about transportation. They will make the arrangements or let you know the procedure. Also check out the ITALY PORTS BOARD and read “Live From” threads on this board. You need to be sure which port you are sailing from because Venice proper is not a port stop anymore. Find your roll call. They will have more info.
  14. Oh wow. Prince Rupert! Nice itinerary. Prince Rupert is your first port of entry into Canada so that’s the port you enter into ArriveCAN.
  15. I just use an LED light sensor I picked up from the dollar store. Works perfectly in the bathroom shaving outlet.
  16. Once you have a booking you can log in and search for pre- and post-cruise travel within the booking.
  17. Sounds like a problem with Whittier and/or the ships traveling to and from there. Masks become a requirement when the caseload reaches a certain tipping point.
  18. There shouldn’t be a quarantine question when you enter the port information. Have you downloaded the latest version?
  19. It sounds like you are on a ship, arriving in Vancouver then heading to the airport? If that’s the case then you need to enter Vancouver cruise port as your port of entry.
  20. Yay! Glad you have arrived and are settling in. I found Copenhagen Airport lovely. I especially loved the harp player! Enjoy your stay! The cuisine is amazing. I am jealous.
  21. Sometimes the ships can’t get into the outer harbour at Victoria due to marine conditions. If you buy ahead, make sure that it’s refundable. It’s a 10 minute walk to Fisherman’s Wharf where you could hop a water taxi to the inner harbour where Harbour Air is. It’s a 30 minute walk from Ogden Point cruise ship terminal to the Empress Hotel/Inner Harbour. A taxi will get you there in 5 minutes.
