  1. It sounds like you are on a ship, arriving in Vancouver then heading to the airport? If that’s the case then you need to enter Vancouver cruise port as your port of entry.
  2. Yay! Glad you have arrived and are settling in. I found Copenhagen Airport lovely. I especially loved the harp player! Enjoy your stay! The cuisine is amazing. I am jealous.
  3. Sometimes the ships can’t get into the outer harbour at Victoria due to marine conditions. If you buy ahead, make sure that it’s refundable. It’s a 10 minute walk to Fisherman’s Wharf where you could hop a water taxi to the inner harbour where Harbour Air is. It’s a 30 minute walk from Ogden Point cruise ship terminal to the Empress Hotel/Inner Harbour. A taxi will get you there in 5 minutes.
  4. We got the Beaver. Now you’ve got me convinced to look for photos & videos tomorrow.
  5. I think rum because, if you have that, you won’t much worry about toilet paper. 🙃
  6. That was our experience on the Nieuw Statendam. Very disappointed. I am hoping it’s just a supply chain issue.
  7. Before final payment they will honour the price drop but you will have to factor in any included packages or non-refundable discounts from your initial purchase. After final payment, if you have booked direct or with a PCC, they will work to compensate you in some form or another. That has not been my experience with a TA, however. Also, booking with a PCC/direct is the best way to receive upsell offers closer to the sailing. Again, that has not been my experience with a TA, so I prefer using a PCC.
  8. Looking forward to reading all about your trip. You’re leaving today! Safe travels. 🛫
  9. I could have sworn I saw one. Maybe it got moved to another board.
  10. When we lived in Florida we would use PARK ‘N GO , just up the street from Port Everglades. Great shuttle service and never any problems.
  11. Did you try the Mariner Society number & email? They’re super responsive.
  12. I think that’s a sensible solution and probably a relief to everyone who has been at the receiving end of many a disgruntled passenger and staff. You cannot push people to their breaking point. Kudos to Schiphol.
  13. Oh now you’ve done it. I can picture him rubbing his hands in glee. 😂
  14. Yes. We’ve had it done a number of times.
  15. Oh! I almost forgot that we also took a water taxi over to SPINNAKERS brew pub while in Victoria. It’s a short walk from one of the stops. To fit all this in we got an early morning flight out and returned to Vancouver late afternoon/early evening.
  16. Not to mention you can avoid all those lines with NEXUS! Whenever I land at Dulles I hear them yelling for all Canadians to join the US passengers line.
  17. Don’t do it. It’s awkward for both the steward and yourself. Pick up an envelope from Guest Services and leave your tip in your room when you go for dinner on the last night. They will get it when they come in to do the turndown service and they will always thank you. Enjoy your cruise, and welcome to HAL!
  18. It’s a Neptune Suite at the front of the ship, over the spa area. Tiny balconies and a long walk to the lounge. Definitely not worth the money.
  19. I haven’t done the Vancouver skyline but we sort of did it when we took the Vancouver to BUTCHART GARDENS tour with HARBOUR AIR. It was amazing. I’m sad I’ve lost my video of our landing in Victoria or I’d post it here. We disembarked at THE EMPRESS so, of course, we had to go in for a traditional beverage. On the return trip, we landed at THE FLYING BEAVER and had some really great fish and chips. All in all, I highly recommend it!
  20. I am so very sorry for your loss. 🙁 💐
  21. As @Crew News mentions, the MDR menu is available for ordering to the room once the dining room is open for service.
  22. That would be the ancillary retailer who was on contract to HAL. Probably the one who lost the current contract.
  23. For some reason, it is a little-known fact that Canadians arriving into US airports are allowed to use the US passenger queues for Customs & Immigration. EWR is a super busy airport so you’re best to take the earlier flights, as most international flights will be arriving early afternoon/early evening. You’re also hitting smack dab in the middle of rush hour, which can be its own kind of nightmare. Also, the smaller airlines like Porter will get bumped/delayed in favour of the major airlines when there are weather or technical issues so your afternoon flight has a greater possibility of being cancelled.
