  1. . I also have food allergy so cross contamination is a real problem for me. I am always wary of buffets. RCI making them self serve again just puts the final nail in that coffin. 😃
  2. We like embarking in Puerto Rico. Love San Juan. Embarking in Tampa is nice as well. I can say that the one I would like to NEVER cruise from again is Galveston. Embarking from there is a nightmare.
  3. These people are no different than the people who get on a ship with Noro Virus. They don't care what happens to others, as long as they get to do what they want. So, wear a mask if it makes you feel safer, Wash your hands often, and don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth. We for sure will NOT be eating in Windjammer.
  4. Will it matter that we are from the United States?
  5. I am hoping someone who lives in Vancouver, BC or someone who has sailed out of Vancouver can answer this question for me. We are cruising out of Vancouver in October. We are flying in 3 days early, so we will need to take our Pre-cruise covid test in Vancouver. We are staying downtown near the cruise port. Are there any Walgreens, CVS, Rexall, etc. where we can have the tests administered? Or would it be easier to just purchase the proctored tests from RC and make the appt. for the proctoring?
  6. On a cruise out of Houston, my DH had a half full bottle of water. He wanted to use it because it had a flip top lid. Security said he had to throw it out. DH asked if it was empty could he keep it. Security said yes, so he chugged the water in front of her. She looked shocked, but he kept his bottle. 😂
  7. What I really don't understand is how a MAJOR company like RCI can have such a horrible IT department. This is not a post covid thing, RCI (and Celebrity as well) have had terrible IT issues and their websites have not been user friendly for years.
  8. Good question... Do they charge 18% gratuity on a bionic bar drink??
  9. Thanks for that answer. That is exactly what I was thinking. Expect to pay the extra, and be happy if it doesn't show up. 😃 I doubt that we will be going over the price threshold very often as well.
  10. We usually book cruises 1.5 yrs in advance. Our last cruise, pre-pandemic, dropped the price 4 different times, and each time, I called our TA and she took care of it. Ended up saving over $300 after all was said and done. As long as your cabin category is still available, keep checking. 😃
  11. here is another star class question re beverages. If we want a beverage over the $13 price, do we just pay the difference like normal? Or is there no price limit (within reason) for star class?
  12. We will have a Royal Genie when we cruise in October on QOTS. If you have sailed with the genie experience since Quantum started sailing in Alaska, can you share your experience?
  13. Our last cruise was a B2B. While it was fine and the ports were all different, life on the ship was very much like being in the movie "Groundhog Day." Same menus, same shows, same jokes and introductions from the cruise director. We decided on that trip, that we would only do longer cruises from now on. You may enjoy it though. 😃
  14. Can you share a little more about your daughter's experience with finding gluten free. I have Celiac as well, and I am a little concerned. Did she place her order for dinner the day before? Did you eat in any specialty restaurants? Did you eat in Windjammer? I am thinking it is a good idea to stay away from windjammer. I don't want to take a chance of cross contamination. Thanks
