  1. YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!! Can't wait for this review! I'm cruising on Valiant Lady in October, back to Miami from Barcelona- so excited to hear all the deets from Megan herself- now @MeganGC1983 your opinion I trust!
  2. A funship Freddy- hat, cup, stuffy, doesn't matter which!
  3. Well, for those of us who had the TA canceled, rescheduling isn't such an easy thing... it was going to be our bucket list cruise- a week in UK beforehand, then a lovely 18 day sailing across the pond... unfortunately nothing that appeals to us that is within our budget has made its existence known 😰
  4. I still have 330 days til my next cruise... thank GOD I have you Megan, @sid_9169 and @Saint Greg to see me through!
  5. @Saint Greg I hope there is some recourse for you with VRBO, even if it's only leaving a bad review for the host. That sucks!
  6. I've tried the buffalo shrimp at the Seafood Shack- all it is is fried shrimp with spicy coctail sauce... nothing 'buffalo' about it. I have tried Seafood Shack my last 4 cruises- I keep hoping it gets better but it always leaves me disappointed. The lobster role is full of mayo- I prefer the buttered roll instead. Oh well, first world problems, as they say.
  7. So excited to read this review- only time I've ever been to NYC was on a trip from N Carolina back home to Toronto- we got off the interstate, drove downtown, drove along Broadway, 5th Ave and a few other highlights then hit the Lincoln Tunnel back out of the city- elapsed time no more than 45 minutes, at 4 in the morning! The city looked like a scene from one of those post-apocalyptic movies where the people are all gone and the zombies are about to start to roam! I've always wanted to go back and what better way to see it than through Saint Greg's eyes!
  8. Signed up, ready to live vicariously! Actually I've been to several of those spots during my misspent youth! Looking forward to seeing them again! Have fun, Benny!
  9. I'm quite willing to be open to the idea of the CD making a difference in my cruise... as I mentioned I was intrigued about Matt Mitchem because I'd heard so many positives about him but Cookie just seemed to go out of his way to put off everyone he interfaced with... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for our Jubilee TA if he is indeed our CD, but I'm not going to book or avoid a cruise based on a staff member.
  10. I honestly can't think of anything that would be a 'deal breaker'... some things happening last minute would be a disappointment, other things might make me look for a different ship, itinerary or sail date... Now I have my PREFERENCES- balcony, 7 day or more, newer ship, cruise date with fewer kids, cheaper cost, new ports... but hey, I'd take a 3 day Bahamas itinerary in an interior on the oldest ship, if it meant I could cruise! Now He Who Will Sulk (as opposed to She Who Must Be Obeyed) often overrides many of my options! But since it means I'm getting a cruise, I don't usually complain!
  11. I've had both connecting and non-connecting rooms but I found little noise from the connecting door. Now the sound of the noisy neighbors slamming their front and balcony doors incessantly is a different story!!
  12. Wow- how experiences can differ! I've never gotten really jazzed about any CD, definitely never booked a cruise because of one... but I was kinda looking forward to our Vista cruise a few years ago because Matt Mitchem was the CD... so I was surprised to find that he'd been replaced for our cruise by Cookie. But I figured, meh, whatever... Well, all I can say is it was pretty obvious to us and all of our other cruise passengers that Mr Cookie DID NOT want to be on that sailing... he was irritable with kids (who were not doing anything wrong at the time, just patiently waiting for the ice cream machine to free up)... he excluded a bunch of folks intentionally from some of his activities on the sports deck (in spite of it being for all ages in the Fun Times he decided that anyone under 18 couldn't play basketball any time he was on the court)... he promised us a group photo from a meetup that he promised to attend, he showed up late, but at least he showed up... but he called the organizer a liar when she asked about the photo... at first he blamed the photographer, then the organizer... To each his own, I guess... but I got tremors when I heard that he might be on Jubilee- I'm on the transatlantic sailing and unless his attitude has improved, I'm not looking forward to any interaction with our CD...
