  1. At 30,000 tons that Pacific Princess is 1/3 larger than the original Love Boat Pacific Princess (20,000 tons) which we sailed for 5 days from Ensenada to Honolulu in 1992. We’ve sailed on all of the Royal-class ships except Enchanted & hopefully you’ll enjoy your cruises as much as us.
  2. Our paid gratuities we received based on our travel agency being a Virtuoso member were also not combinable with the 20th anniversary promotion but we’re still better off with the 20th offer. 🙂
  3. Here’s a photo I took in Genoa in November 2019 showing our ship the Sky Princess docked next to Pacific Princess (now the Azamara Onward)…also a massive difference! We never sailed on one of the Renaissance Cruise ships when they were sailing for Princess but are booked on 2 of them as Oceania ships. At nearly 1/5 the size & less than 1/5 the passenger capacity of Sky it’ll be a different cruise experience & we’ll enjoy all of them. 😁
  4. We’re returning next week 😎🏝️🌈🌅🌞 I noticed that Mama’s Meat Lasagna has replaced Fettuccine Alfredo as the always available nightly pasta. I enjoy lasagna…hopefully it’s Molto Bene! 😋 Wonder if this is a fleetwide change or just for your cruise.
  5. I reread the 20th Anniversary Terms & Conditions & as you can read it does not state that it is for new bookings only. My TA simply called Oceania & the OBC was quickly added to my existing cruise only reservation which is included in the 20th Anniversary promotion. https://www.oceaniacruises.com/legal/promotion-terms/
  6. A statement by one wine steward does not make it the company policy which you can read here. “Guests are welcome to enjoy their wine in the comfort and privacy of their stateroom or suite, or, if they prefer, may enjoy their wine in one of the ship’s dining rooms. Any wine consumed in the dining room or a public area will be subject to a corkage fee of $25.00 per bottle”. https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005405394-What-is-your-alcohol-policy-for-bringing-bottles-on-board-
  7. Another fun Tracie-Lynn adventure…thanks for taking us along. Happy Birthday…you’re younger than my baby sister. ☺️ Happy to learn that you’re recovering from Covid.
  8. Or maybe it’s another example of a technical issue…inconsistency.
  9. Interesting…my cruise with a “hold” does not show in my list of booked cruises. Oh well, we’re making our deposit today so will see that held cruise soon. 🙂
  10. I have a cruise on hold (no deposit yet) and on page 3 under “Amenities and Gifts” our 20th anniversary SBC is displayed…$400 for each of us for a total of $800.
  11. Regatta with only a drive to the Port of LA for a coastal cruise & in 2024 on Sirena (NYC to Miami). Friends who cruise regularly on O prefer Riviera/Marina however none of those cruisers work for us at this time.
  12. Thanks…we’re booked on our first O cruise later this year & learning as much as possible in advance. For health reasons I cannot have caffeine and drink A&W root beer at home. Hopefully they don’t only have the Coca Cola produced Barq’s root beer which contains caffeine.
  13. How soon before a cruise can these requests be made? Are the requests made through our travel agent?
  14. My cruise booked in September 2022 for this September is included with this promotion & I contacted my TA who contacted O to add a $400 OBC to our 7 day cruise. All cruises are not included in this promotion & since your cruise is included contact your booking source to have it simply added. Check to see if the cruise fare is the same price which was our experience. In recent discussions some people have posted their cruise fare increased so the 20th anniversary promotion did not provide a lower net price. I’ve just booked a 2024 cruise & we’re receiving an $800 OBC for our 15 day cruise. Checking the T&Cs for this promotion it includes residents of the US and Canada. https://www.oceaniacruises.com/legal/promotion-terms/
  15. The tenders always took us to the Sea Landing dock. Sea Landing 301 West Cabrillo Blvd. | Santa Barbara, CA 93101 https://www.sealanding.net It’s a short walk from SB sites: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g33045-Activities-Santa_Barbara_California.html#ATTRACTION_SORT_WRAPPER They have cheap shuttles but currently they’re suspended until further notice. https://sbmtd.gov/routes/downtown-waterfront-shuttles/ If you like wine there are several tasting rooms under a mile from Sea Landing. https://urbanwinetrailsb.com
  16. Thanks 🙂 I enjoy German beers such as Hofbrau & Paulaner and will enjoy them in our cabin. 🍻
  17. Am I correct that bringing beer onboard to drink in cabin is allowed?
  18. Thank you very much…a picture is worth a thousand words. ☺️
  19. We’re considering interior cabins (F) on R-class ships and most of them are either quad or triple with Pullman…are those extra beds recessed into the ceiling? Or are they like on Princess where they protrude about a foot from the sidewalls even when stored. We got that type of Princess cabin as a free upgrade to an oceanview & don’t want such a configuration again.
  20. We also considered standing down but we’re glad that we have sailed on 4 weeklong cruises since the restart. Even with the hiccups there have been many more good experiences for us than disappointing ones. However there’s no way to predict when supply & staffing will return to pre pandemic levels. We’re expecting our Regatta cruise in September to be better than on Princess or X but also have a Discovery Princess cruise booked in April 2024 for the total solar eclipse in Mazatlan. And based on good friends’ O experiences they’ve had since the restart we’re considering booking a 2nd O cruise. 😊 Although that’s merely our thoughts & good luck on deciding what works best for you.
  21. After primarily sailing Princess since 1988 we sailed our first Celebrity cruise on Solstice last month. In my opinion they’re more alike than different & neither line is like decades ago. With the lower prices necessary to fill so many more cabins it’s resulted in a diminished cruise experience & benefits. Like you, I’m hopeful that Oceania will be better & more like the amazing food & service we had with Sitmar in 1988. Based on posts I’ve read all cruise lines including luxury lines are struggling with supplies & having experienced crewmembers to provide a consistent exceptional cruise experience.
  22. I’ve only seen Club Class in a midship dining room & not in the aft MDR which on Sky is Cielo. When capacity is low have read about a MDR being closed. As I recall there’s been a recent discussion about a ship in late January that has a partial charter group which could be assigned a MDR. Merely speculation & have experienced DMW reservations reassigned for no reason other than an unreliable DMW system which has adversely affected us several times.
  23. It’s okay for my tastebuds. ☕️ On Royal-class ships such as Discovery free coffee is made from ground coffee & not from concentrate like on other Princess ships.
  24. Yes, on Discovery’s inaugural cruise & the diningroom staff assured me that the 2nd cruise would be as reserved…NOT! 🙄
  25. We received the white faced Medallion on Discovery’s first two cruises last Spring which are for the inaugural year of sailing. The SeaWitch was in the color of a passenger’s Captain’s Circle level so ours were black. I guess you could go to the GSD to ask about an exchange but we kept ours as a remembrance of Discovery’s first year of sailing. 😊
