  1. I also have YoutubeTV and was surprised I couldn’t watch on Alaska cruise. I started in Vancouver and the whole time kept saying it can’t work out of country, even in Alaska. I have gotten a VPN and if I get surf and steam on Wonder TA in Oct., will see if it works with a US IP location.
  2. Personally, living in the Seattle area, I would fly. You just never know what kind of traffic you may encounter, especially when it looks like you are doing this on weekdays. Renting a car would probably cost you more than flying, considering the one way drop off fees. I took Quick Shuttle up in May, the day before I cruised, so I was fine, but a few on the bus were sailing that day. They made it at 2pm, but I would have been a nervous wreck. And Quick Shuttle does make a few stops. The border was the longest, since there were 2 busses ahead of us, and you have to get off, drag your luggage through customs, and then load back on the bus.
  3. I did a 7 day Disney cruise back in 2016, when the grandkids were almost 3 and 4. It was magical, and they loved it, and it was a great cruise. My oldest daughter and granddaughter are Disney fanatics, and have continued to do a few more since then. You only live once and to me it is totally worth it. Everybody chooses how they spend their money, and I think some of those are nuts, but taking your grandchild on a Disney cruise is something you won’t ever regret.
  4. Unless you get one like I had on Ovation, which froze things
  5. I know what you mean. I got it about a year ago after being vaxxed, and lost my taste for 6 weeks. To bad it wasn’t my appetite.
  6. I just checked a few of my booked cruises for DBP and most are $66 plus 18% gratuity. The Navigator is $76, but it’s over New Years. The Refreshment package is running $23 on all.
  7. It looks like they were all making them at the same time. Maybe mods can combine or delete a couple. This is why I don’t normally make threads on breaking news. I know somebody else will…😂
  8. I have always carried mine on also. I also have a resmed, and the case is easy to strap onto my carryon or just sling on my shoulder. If on rare occasion, I’m only on a 7 day cruise, I just use ship water. I wouldn’t come close to even making a dent in a gallon of distilled water, and it seems a waste.
  9. There is a walk from the ship to train, although 1/2 mile seems to be pushing it. There are little golf trams that can take you the length of the dock. It’s still a bit of a walk.
  10. Interesting…I had an inside lock. Although I would turn it to lock, if I was in shower I would put sleeping sign up. Room service can enter with the lock on, to deliver treats, but if I was in the cabin, I would answer. If didn’t want to be disturbed, always Sleep sign on door.
  11. And just an FYI, since a lot of people don’t notice, they are small 375ml bottles. Also agree with above poster, take sodas to bar to exchange.
  12. I never use room service, so I was thinking more about the Continental breakfast that there is no charge. And if I order room service with a charge, giving them a couple of bucks is not going to send me to the poor house, and could greatly help them. Can I just say how excited I am for a tipping thread..Thank you 😂😂
  13. Room service is not included in prepaid gratuities, and the extra is they are bringing food to your cabin, so you don’t have to get up and go get your own food.
  14. Since this thread is about the Ovation to Alaska, you should get one, unless something has changed since I was in the May 5 sailing. I got one every night. As you can see above, there are some Compasses posted in Live threads. However, it looks like entertainment has already changed a couple of times since I was on first sailing, so don’t count on the Compasses to be 100% the same for your sailing.
  15. Yes, since the cruise ends in Vancouver Canada, this B2B is legal. It’s only illegal when it begins and ends in a different US city, with no distant port stop.
  16. I use the Space Needle Cam, but it’s not close up. There are 2 ports. Pier 66 and Pier 91. You can try Google for others. https://www.spaceneedle.com/webcam/
  17. Since I am the West Coast, and have no interest in sailing the Caribbean, I finally sailed the Ovation last Oct., after a couple of years cancellations out of Sydney. I just finished my 3rd cruise on her a couple of weeks ago and she is my fave right now. Nothing compares to Two70 and I just love the whole vibe of the ship. I have the Wonder and Navigator coming up this year, and back to the Ovation next March for a B3B. The Wonder may jump to first. We will see.
  18. If you sail before 12/31/22, you should get the points promo.
  19. If you have not discovered Pure Lemon and Lime packs, they are the best. Sprinkle on anything needing lemon or lime, and they are the best. You won’t know the difference from the real stuff. And easy to pack. I buy the 100 packs on Amazon.
  20. Oh Lord……senior, blonde moment 🤦🏼‍♀️
  21. If your cruise was booked prior to Sept 30 2021, and you were solo in any category below a Suite, you got 4 points per night. If in a suite, you would have gotten 6. You didn’t say how long your cruise was. If it was booked after Sept 30 2021, you got lucky, and 🤐
  22. Yes, the train is at the pier, but you still have to walk down a long dock to get to it. For elderly or disabled, it could be a bit more difficult. That’s why I mentioned the trams. They were being well used for the short dock ride when I was there a couple of weeks ago.
  23. They have areas cordoned off for arrival times. There are usually 2 up front, and then a longer one for later arrival times. This is how it was in Oct. As Ferry_Watcher noted, it may be one big line this year. There is some seating upstairs if boarding hasn’t started yet. That’s why arrival times are a bit later now, so once you are checked in, you can board.
  24. I travel solo, and usually eat meals anywhere but the MDR. I prefer to choose what I know I can eat, and not waste food. I can chose a little bit of this and a little bit of that. If I’m on a ship that has a Solarium Bistro, Cafe 270, or a Park Cafe, many times I will choose those for breakfast and lunch. And as somebody mentioned, I intermittent fast, so don’t eat breakfast usually until 9-10. Plus, I can get my food quick, and be finished in a short amount of time, to go do other things. I won’t sit for 2 hours for a meal. Some enjoy that, I don’t. It is always good that there is something for everybody.
