  1. Oh yes, gotta bring your own medicine cabinet. Airborne is my best friend while traveling. I bring hand sanitizer as well as Wet Ones. The only good thing to come out of Covid for me is that I can pop on a mask if someone by me starts coughing without looking completely crazy.
  2. I 100% do what you said in the second paragraph, but you can do everything right and still fall prey to illness. I never understood it before Covid either, but itā€™s now extra shocking to me that after all the world went through during Covid, people have just slipped right back into not washing their hands and coughing open mouthed and going around public while sick, etc.
  3. Itā€™s wonderful Princsss came to the rescue and ironic that a CRUISE ship was needed to help out the UNcruise ship. Iā€™m so happy no one was injured in the fire. Itā€™s sad you guys had to miss Glacier Bay, though.
  4. No, you canā€™t use airline-direct offers with EZ-Air.
  5. Did you have your booking linked to your kidsā€™ and friendsā€™ bookings? Thatā€™s important to request your TA do upon booking to ensure youā€™re kept next to each other.
  6. We had to on our British Isles cruise, too. They said weā€™d get it back once we left Ireland, if I remember correctly. At first, my husband was alarmed as the U.S. trains us never to let our passport out of our possession, but in this case, it is legit.
  7. Does anyone know of a place in Istanbul where you can watch Turkish Delight being made?
  8. I really hope they get all of this sickness under control soon! We are boarding in July, and normally itā€™s a good time of year for travel in terms of sickness. I do remember, though, on one of our Med cruises pre-pandemic, a big group of Australians had upper respiratory infections going on, and weā€™d dodge coughs on the tour buses and in the buffet. I wonder if since itā€™s winter in Australia, thatā€™s how the flu is onboard in the Med right now.
  9. I hope you get your money! It is hard when you donā€™t know when the casino will close.
  10. The Alaska Railroad morning train is an excellent option. The scenery is beautiful, and you get to go through a valley that cars do not traverse. Itā€™s also relaxing and much more comfortable than the bus. Upon arriving in Seward, you can either walk to the cruise terminal or take f the free school bus town shuttle.
  11. One major factor is your point of origin. If you live in a big city hub, youā€™re more likely to get good flights. If you live somewhere else, you may end up with 1-3 connections. The reason you have to overnight on the way home is likely due to there not being a flight that would work for you to connect to that night. Unfortunately, thatā€™s common. I do think NCL should pay for your hotel enroute home, though. Good luck, and enjoy your cruise!
  12. I really enjoyed reading about your Hawaiian adventure. You put so much time and effort into this; thank you! DH and I laughed when we saw one of the Eggs Benedict pics because it reminded us of when I had it the first day on the Royal over Christmas, and the sauce they gave me was vanilla sauce instead of Hollandaise!! Talk about a mouth full of surprise! šŸ¤¢
  13. Ok, thank you for the explanations about the deck plans. They LOVED Catch!! I think itā€™s safe to say it was the highlight of their cruise.
  14. I already looked at the deck plan and explained to my mother in law where it all was, but she told me the deck plan was wrong for the Majestic.
  15. Ok, thank you. My mother in law couldnā€™t find those things onboard and thought the ship didnā€™t have them.
  16. I know the Majestic has some quirks due to its original purpose. Does it have any or all of the following? Princess logo shop Alfredoā€™s Gelateria
  17. Pre-pandemic, the train commonly arrived approximately 6:00 or 6:30. I would recommend pushing your reservation to 7:30 to be safe.
  18. That explains why our Enchanted Princess cruise has two time adjustments in ports for July due to ā€œengine maintenanceā€.
  19. Royal class ships have more food offerings, but the Crown and its sister ships have more character and classic ship feel. Both have their place; it really comes down to individual preference. You are correct that you will have Skywalkers night club, which weā€™ve always really liked and miss when we are on Royal class ships. the gelato bar exists on the Crown but is smaller. You are correct that Alfredos is not on the Crown. There is a great aft pool on the Crown that the Royal class ships do not have. Sabatiniā€˜s is way up high and facing aft on the Crown, which is cool. the promenade deck is more traditional on the Crown. The Buffet is definitely smaller on the Crown, but we have always been able to find plenty of food that we like on that class of ship. have fun, exploring another class of ship!
  20. I wish Jan had been moved back to running Princess. šŸ˜
  21. It means that itā€™s just like cruising was pre-pandemic. Itā€™s our perceptions that are different because we werenā€™t in crowds for so long. Yes, crowds are annoying, but as long as you learn how to work your way around them, youā€™ll be fine. Figure out when the buffet is most packed, and go at a different time. Make your dinner reservations in advance. Get to the theater early. Seek out loungers further from the pool.
  22. Yay; so happy to hear the great follow-up news! You guys rock!
  23. We did this cruise last Christmas, and it was fabulous, BTW. Of course we know that weather can vary drastically from year to year, but our experience wasā€¦ It was cold the first 2 days out, cool the 3rd day, and warm the last day. Day 3 had those of us dieing to swim, in the water and braving the wave pool. Day 4 had many out. The return was similar. We were in moderate to hefty seas. Happy planning!
