Seward to Anchorage post-cruise transfer options
cruisequeen4ever replied to travelbuds's topic in Celebrity Cruises
If celebrity offers a train transfer to Anchorage, take it in a heartbeat. If they don’t, your option would be a bus through Celebrity, or you can explore for the day in Seward and take the Alaska railroad to Anchorage in the evening. The reason I say to take the train is two-fold; it is way more comfortable than being cramped in a bus, and the scenery is magnificent. The train gets to go through an area that has no roads, so the only way to view it is by train. The train does take about twice as much time, though, so, if you’d rather get to Anchorage faster, just take the bus. -
A Flights by Celebrity error that worked to my favor.
cruisequeen4ever replied to Stockjock's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Goodness, that took way too much time for you to deal with. It’s sad that you had the chance to taste what it would be like to have an ideal flight time and in business class, only to have it ripped out of your mouth. It is true that booking flights through the cruise line can add a headache like you experienced, or it can save a headache if you missed the ship and needed to be flown to the next port or if the ship was delayed getting back into Port at the end of the cruise, or it can just be uneventful because nothing went wrong. After my last experience, booking air through the cruise line, I decided that if the cost was similar, I would just book through the airlines because it is easier to be able to just deal with one company instead of being sent back-and-forth between two. I had experienced a schedule change that was very stressful when the cruise line was not being helpful, and the airline was sending me back to the cruise line to deal with it. -
Tmobile (Sprint) - Service in Alaska

T-Mobile itself is not offered in Alaska, but they may use the Alaska company, GCI, for their cell service. -
CCL High Debt /what is Your Opinion
cruisequeen4ever replied to mcrcruiser's topic in Holland America Line
I agree the prices are rising at the same time as cutbacks are occurring, and I agree that it will affect the number of repeat cruisers. My husband is starting to see the value of cruising less and less, which makes me sad as I cruise for the magic of it, not just a value. -
PARIS ON YOUR OWN EXCURSION
cruisequeen4ever replied to victory2020's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Even if you were with others, I would not recommend this excursion as you basically dip your toe in Paris and are forced out of the tub water way too soon. It’s around 3 Hours Dr. each way with a possibility of traffic, to just have a few hours in Paris. The safety factor is amplified by the fact that you will be alone, so I definitely would not recommend going. I remember reading about a couple who had literally just stepped off the tour bus to walk across the bridge, and while on the bridge, was pickpocketed. If you really wanna do, Paris, fly through Paris, before, or after the cruise, and do tours to explore, so you’re in a group. We were able to fly through Paris and have our whole time they’re paid for by the cost savings of doing a stop over there. -
Our medallions have finally shipped!!!! 🥳 I thinnnnnk they’ll arrive in time. I still haven’t received the “shipped” notification email, but they show as shipped in the app now.

We used their shared shuttle in 2017, and it couldn’t have been better! They were waiting for us upon disembarking, it was just us and a family, we were all going to the same place, the van was comfy, we didn’t have to pay until we arrived at our destination, and they accepted cc’s.

Welp, it still hasn’t shipped despite having charged our cc a week ago.

Navigator Incident in Mazatlan
cruisequeen4ever replied to AllAboardatSea's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I’m surprised at the number of jokes on this thread. That accident could have left someone dead; does anyone know if there was anyone in it when it fell? This incident is not a laughing matter at all. -
That’s interesting! I wonder how that works if someone is on a world cruise?

My cc shows the medallion shipping charge posted on 6/16 but still shows not shipped. 🤞 tomorrow will be shipping day!

I will update. We live in the US and have received our medallions at home for overseas sailings pre-pandemic.

I’m happy for you!

Influenza Type A on Enchanted Princess
cruisequeen4ever replied to LPG27's topic in Princess Cruises
Noooo, I kept hoping it would go away. I’m so sorry for those who had their trip ruined by it! Sounds like it’s way past time for a deep clean and enhanced protocols to nip it. -
We kept our carry-ons with us on the tour bus.

Attire on Christmas/New Year Cruises
cruisequeen4ever replied to charliedalrymple's topic in Princess Cruises
During the day, it’s normal attire. On formal nights, yes, people tend to be more into dressing up because of Christmas and New Year’s. On Christmas day, you’ll see lots of festive clothing, but it’s mainly casual like Christmas themed sweaters and dresses and shirts and pajamas and the string light necklaces and headbands and Santa hats. It’s very fun. -
2-day Pacific Coastal, SEA-VCR.Is the casino open?
cruisequeen4ever replied to westcoastBC's topic in Princess Cruises
For me, on one it was, and one it wasn’t. They say it’s due to Vancouver regulations, but that doesn’t make sense when it’s open on some and not on others. -
I prefer Princess’s food to Celebrity’s. My most recent Princess cruise was last December, and my most recent Celebrity cruise was last March. That Celebrity cruise did have better food than the one we did years ago at least, but it’s just mediocre compared to Princess. My friend who also sails Princess felt the same way. Celebrity did have good steak, awesome eggs Benedict, and delicious gelato, though. Now Princess’s food has changed in some ways…the fettuccini Alfredo was a shell of its former self, there were hardly any good desserts in the Pastry Shop, and some of the flavors weren’t up to snuff, although we did have very new crew I found out after. Ok the flip side, we had the best lobster I’ve ever had on a ship and plenty of yummy food for over 2 weeks. The overall best food we’ve ever had on Princess was on our Med cruises. The ingredients are just plain superior. We are going on our next one in July, and I sure hope that holds true.

My in-laws absolutely loved Catch, and my mother-in-law is extremely hard to please. -
Medallion arriving too late
cruisequeen4ever replied to C & C Love to Cruise's topic in Princess Cruises
That sucks, and that’s exactly what I am worried is gonna happen for us. Princess really has no excuse sending it so late, especially now that they’re passing the cost on to pax now.
