  1. If this is true, I’m very glad I made sure to cancel our reservation one night when we just decided to go to the buffet instead. I can understand this being a consequence for a specialty restaurant reservation because those are paid, but it really doesn’t make sense to me to charge this for a dining room reservation when, at least on the cruise I did a few weeks ago, they were really really wanting people to eat in the dining room and to enjoy their experience so they’d keep coming back.
  2. It’s around 3 ft in the shallow end and around 4 ft in the deep end. I was able to swim laps, do PT, and water aerobics. Sometimes I had to dodge other swimmers and teenagers hanging out. Other times, people were very respectful to basically take a lane, so others could exercise, too. The pool was nowhere near 90 degrees the week I used it last month!! I’d guess 78/80ish. My friend was cold each time getting in.
  3. Patrick was the cruise director 2 weeks ago at least. He did a good job. We saw the Spa Cafe set up once but never again. I’m not sure if we just didn’t look at the right times, or if they decided it wasn’t worth keeping open.
  4. I love burgers, and I was able to eat the Mast Grill burger and not hate it but also not love it. I never felt the need to have it again, whereas on Princess, I eat a grill burger practically every other day. I also didn’t like the style of fries; they were almost double fried or extra crispy. I didn’t dare get one from the nasty looking display in the buffet.
  5. I’m so sorry this happened to you! I’m also sorry some people’s first reactions were to say they’ve never heard of it happening on Celebrity, which is a 100% unhelpful statement. I’d definitely fight to get all purchases reimbursed and a healthy FCC. Celebrity’s offerings to you were terrible customer service as obviously you need head to toe clothes immediately, and with the laundry, you can’t send out your outfit and wait a day to get it back, or you’d be naked for 24 hours! Good luck!!
  6. I agree with the food being decent to good.
  7. Breakfast- orange, apple, and POG juices Lunch and Dinner- Fruit Punch, Lemonade, and Iced Tea All times- filtered water, coffee, and tea
  8. Funny you say that because I felt that way on my first Celebrity cruise. I didn’t on my second one, though, except that the food ranges from mediocre to good for regular passengers, whereas suite pax rave about their food.
  9. I had planned on buying them in advance to save some money but didn’t want to buy them too soon, so waited, and then they disappeared from pre-sale. The good news was that even though I paid more onboard, I was able to use my one free card benefit as a classic member.
  10. I just got back from a spring break Celebrity cruise, and I was pleasantly surprised at the demographics. On our previous Celebrity cruise, there was an overall snooty attitude by many of the passengers that was blissfully absent on this cruise. There were 150 kids onboard, but they were so well entertained by the kids clubs or their families that they really did not impede our vacation at all, with the exception of a group of boys running back-and-forth and shouting over and over during Deal or No Deal one day. I only encountered one drunk person the entire cruise, and his wife set him straight. 4 people were downright rude. Other than all of that, 9 out of 10 passengers were kind, polite, and well behaved.
  11. If you want free alcohol or mocktails, gamble in the casino and order while playing. Celebrity gives you free drinks while you are actively gambling with your players card in the machine. The bar server will take down your room number and ask you if you have a drinks, package, and you just say no. This was advertised every day of our cruise drinks that are always free are coffee, tea, filtered water, orange juice, lemonade, and fruit juice, though some of those are only available at certain times.
  12. I know it’s been over a year, but I save my fav blog peeps to read when I want an extra good read, and now was the time. You never cease to entertain; your way with words is just absolutely pro hilarious. Keep cruising and keep blogging! Thank you thank you!
  13. Crown Grill is the best! We recently had it 3 times on the Royal, and it was just as good as pre-pandemic. Sabatinis we usually do once per cruise because I have to have my burrata and calamari, but Crown Grill is always superior.
  14. The line outside is for luggage drop off. Then you go inside, up escalator, and get into the security line. Once through security, you get into the check-in line.
  15. In Horizon Court, the salad bar is extensive. One day, they may offer a Ramen bar, and another day they may offer a Mongolian barbecue bar. The grilled shrimp is scrumptious. Stir fry is excellent. Lots of Indian food.
  16. We had the same experience. They really need to fix it, so you can select multiple people at a time for the Enclave pass purchase.
  17. Not happy about this. I can sorta understand paying a little more to choose your stateroom, but that’s enough of a difference. Making it non-refundable, too, is going too far IMO.
  18. Same as others have said, they aren’t doing one anymore.
  19. We love eating at Horizon court for dinner on Princess. We get to choose exactly how much we want, what we want, and eat at our own pace. Though there aren’t quite as many options as pre-pandemic, it’s nothing like what has been reported on Celebrity with cutbacks at dinner. There is still tons from which to choose. I do hope that they go back to their full selection like pre-pandemic, but for now, your friends will not suffer if they eat there at night.
  20. I love both, and I don’t see why they can’t offer both. Princess and Carnival do.
  21. I’m gonna be on the Solstice. Is the Solstice using the old system or the new one?
