  1. It is absolutely not an 8 hour flight from Vancouver. It’s 6 1/2 at most and usually quicker with a tail wind.
  2. I thought most of the complaints were around dinner, not lunch?
  3. That is just a really really sad looking plate
  4. We have two Hawaii land trips coming up this year. We also spent a month there last September. We’re lucky we’ve been renting from a guy for years and he’s kept the rates reasonable. Friends of ours on Kauai have a time share, their maintenance just went up to $10k a year so I wouldn’t go that route. VRBO and Airbnb still seem ok. We stay up at turtle bay on the golf course. Eating out has gotten very expensive but you have Costco liquor to off set that. 🍹🍹
  5. I’m no HAL cheerleader, but I like this ad. It’s on Canadian TV quite a bit.
  6. It’s a way for people to book multiple ships/itineraries and then pick one later. If you’re only booking 1, the deposit doesn’t really matter.
  7. I remember last year when the $1 deposit sale hit people were booking a lot of cruises just to hold a cabin. I hope for HAL some stick. We booked two. I wouldn’t have done that without the $1 sale, so yes, I think it does effect the numbers.
  8. Holy cow 🐄 that’s a giant price increase. $300 Cdn for a bottle is insane. Good job I enjoy land trips.
  9. She’s also on Sydney Australia’s calendar in March 2025 so that fits with the other itineraries. We’ll see.
  10. Yes, I was not questioning why. I was stating why I prefer a different ship for a world cruise. They’re expensive enough. You’ll pay a higher premium for a balcony on a ship such as Zaandam.
  11. I find their pricing seems to be closer to the suite pricing rather than balcony pricing on the larger ships. Case in point, 7 day Alaska, close itinerary, both into glacier bay. Koningsdam is $500 pp cheaper for a balcony than Zaandam. Over a world cruise, it’s a pretty big price difference.
  12. But you have to pay for a suite to get a balcony. Hard pass on that ship. I dont mind small but need a balcony.
  13. Ugh. Definitely not what we were looking for. Hopefully there’s some great grand voyages.
  14. Wasn’t your job to fix it, it was the staffs. Epic fail on Celebrity.
  15. No. All land trips. 2 x Hawaii, 2 x BC Wine Country, 1 x Washington State Wine Country and 1 x Cannon Beach, Oregon Coast.
  16. I’ve had at least six different offers of a free cruise in the past 4 months. They are literally giving them away with the left hand while the right hand is selling them at a premium to the people that will pay it.
  17. Just the itinerary being a bit out of the norm. Not having the Med on a world cruise is quite unusual.
  18. We ended up cancelling our free veranda to the Mexican Riviera. Flights, hotel and tips. We were $1,700 Cdn in before stepping onboard. Great deal if it was somewhere I actually wanted to go.
  19. I booked Australia about 8 pm pacific time the night before the release date.
  20. Probably a high end consignment store but they’d take a cut. very happy to have bought my LVs and Guccis a very long time ago. Still kicking myself for walking out of the Prada outlet empty handed 🤦🏻‍♀️ The price increases are insane.
  21. SV and suites will be the first to be booked. I’d grab an SV while you can and then decide.
