  1. If you are in a suite, just enter through the doors that say not to enter. Go straight to your room. Your room should be ready for you, so you don't have to just drop and run. Your keys should be there waiting for you. Suites are the only ones who have rooms ready at embarkation.
  2. You are not allowed to bring a "small amount of alcohol on board." What you are allowed to bring is a small amount of non-alcoholic beverages and one 750 ml bottle of wine per adult. The policy is very specific about that. You can try to put a small bottle in your checked luggage, but it is highly likely that they will identify it and you will have to go to the "naughty" room to gather your checked luggage. IMHO, it's not worth the risk. The 1 litre bottle of Dewars at $90 for a total cost of $106.20 yields a total of 22 shots at $4.82 per shot, which is at least half the price of purchasing them individually at the bars.
  3. DH has helped out with luggage while on his scooter before. His smaller item (in his case, a cpap and a small backpack) go under his legs and he drives the scooter with one hand while pulling/guiding the suitcase with the other. Not ideal, but it can be done, if necessary.
  4. Since you posted the terms of your fare type, I'm assuming that you read them? They normally mean what they say. Cancellations prior to final payment due date will receive a non-refundable and non-transferable future cruise credit (FCC) in the amount of the deposit less a $50 pp service fee. FCC issued in USD and must be used to book a new cruise within 12 months of cancel date.
  5. That is very true; however, one of the things that we like about this set up is that we can chat briefly with those at adjacent tables and then retreat to it being just the two of us.
  6. When you have Cheers included as part of your fare, the gratuities are also included. As a result, there will be no additional gratuity automatically added in total or per drink, unless you choose to include one.
  7. They can call the evening before and request their items and time.
  8. No, but you can order delivery of a few items to poolside 🙂
  9. I don't think that St. Petersburg requirements will be an issue for a while LOL
  10. Do you mean as far as identification, etc? Just a birth certificate.
  11. That's because there isn't. What you are told is to make sure you have your S&S card and a photo ID if 16 or older.
  12. It will be refunded to the original form of payment for the no-show.
  13. The $59.95 price is with the 10% off. It is $64.95 when purchased on board. See my previous post (#10 from yesterday).
  14. You do the on-line check in as if they were planning to be there.
  15. LOL. We were on the CA/NE itinterary several years ago and he didn't take his DL off in one of the Canadian ports. We had to stand around while they pulled the ship's manifest to make sure he was on it and there were no issues with his identity before they would let him through. Not too much drama, but I don't like having to wait because someone doesn't do what they know they need to do 😂 He was pretty embarassed.
  16. There are some ports where it is a problem (just ask my hubby 🙂). OP, just take your DL and S&S card with you and you'll be fine.
  17. We were in a suite a few weeks ago on the Splendor. No sticker, just our usual gold card.
  18. Yes, if they ask about her, just say something to the effect of she's coming separately. When she doesn't show up, her pre-paids will be refunded to the original form of payment.
  19. For YTD, go into your Cruise Manager under "booking and order details" and add all of those people as traveling companions (they will have to "accept" on their end). They will then all appear in your app as available to check in with you, and you can check everyone in to dine together, or select on those who will be dining together that particular evening. I'm afraid that I cannot answer for the specialty restaurants.
  20. Good to hear. We embarked on the Splendor a few weeks ago and it was fairly smooth, as well. Except DH was using a scooter and we had a suite. One person told us to wait in the priority boarding area, someone else intercepted us and told us to go to the ADA area, and then moved us again. By this point, I was totally over it and probably made a face when told to move again (note that I didn't say anything, but sometimes my face speaks volumes). The port worker got right in my face and agressively said "do we have a problem here?" People really shouldn't do that to me, because I will be brutally honest and I told her exactly what the problem was (matter of factly, not agressively). It put a damper on what was otherwise a great embarkation experience.
  21. When you book, you choose the room that you want. It is then priced at a category 2 levels lower than the room you are booking. You are not selecting a room and then getting moved to a room 2 categories higher. That is why it is not available for upper/lower, it is the lowest category and there is nothing lower to price it to.
  22. That is because people are telling them at the port or at Guest Services that the other person is not coming. They then call and have that person cancelled, which causes the penalty. If you simply don't say anything, then all is fine.
  23. You do need to fill out all of the registration information or they cannot proctor the test. It's not extensive.
  24. To be honest, when we tested with On Point, they didn't even ask about the expiration date.
