I have had the hairdryer on more than 30 cruises and it has worked beautifully every time except in 7602. That cabin was listed as available when I booked it. I asked the electrician what the permanent fix would be. He said there is no permanent fix and stated the problem applied to the cabin next door as well. Doesn’t it seem odd to you that a center hump balcony would still be available? Possibly they keep it out of inventory until most balconies have already been booked.

7602 has electrical issues. I was in that cabin for the four nights prior to the WC and was unable to use my own hair dryer, had to make do with Royal’s pathetic excuse for one. I had to wait for an electrician to show up and reset the breaker to discover that rather important tidbit of info.

So, Jamman, you were right again! We took your Deal or No Deal advice tonight on the Pride. Purchased three cards for $50, and two of the three were $30 casino free play winners! Ahead $10 and just to make it more fun, I am going to spin a slot machine with a $1.50 bet twenty times to see what will accumulate. Hoping Gary will do the same with his $30.

I still print mine because I have several things to hold onto during embarkation and my phone would be the most likely to be dropped or left behind. I would rather keep the phone in my purse and handle a piece of paper.

I have no problem applying unused gift cards at the kiosk, but it would not accept the partially used one with a balance of $20 +/-. I had to take that one to Guest Services.

The casino host was apologetic, understanding, and unable to unblock my account.

I was blocked once because I walked into an almost-empty casino, transferred money, and played for about two minutes before everything in the casino shut down. I had apparently just missed an announcement about the casino closing because we had reached the port. It was 11 a.m. and I was blocked until midnight the following day, approximately 37 hours.

Same here! A larger cabin with a window(s) plus $$ to move to a smaller interior? Do they think I am stupid?

Ours have been used for 35+ cruises and are in perfect condition. The tag holders you are looking at are the narrow version that fits Royal and Celebrity. Some cruise lines use wider tags (Carnival and Princess). If you purchase the wider version of the holders, they can be used for all cruise lines. I purchased the narrow ones first, then needed the wider ones. The wide tag holders stay on our luggage permanently, with the narrow ones never used.

That was our experience on the Wonder last week. I booked all five shows as soon as they were released, leaving Day 4 and Day 7 with nothing reserved. InTENse (which we had reserved for the first night) was cancelled several times due to weather. On Day 5, I was surprised to see a reservation for inTENse appear on my calendar. Apparently it was done automatically when our original reservation was cancelled. We already had the comedy show booked for that night, so we had to choose between the two. We went to inTENse, which turned out to be modified, with no diving or swimming. Having nothing scheduled for Day 7 turned out to be a good choice. We were very tired from Coco Cay that day and from the week in general. We were happy to go back to the cabin to pack and go to bed early.

I have been on the Paradise four times and really enjoyed the first three. Last time, the entire ship just seemed loud. We were unable to find a quiet place to just sit and watch the water. We said that was the last time, but now there is a free cruise involved and the temptation to drive just one hour to Tampa is strong. We figure we will enjoy it if we go into it with realistic expectations. Where are the quietest locations on the ship? I am willing to head up to Serenity early, but IIRC most seats are in the sun and it is not always serene in Serenity. Any ideas?

After 32 cruises without covid, we finally caught it on the Carnival Vista in December. I started with sinus drainage the night we got home, and 24 hours later we were both very sick. It was the worst and longest illness either of us ever had, lasting 16 days with heavy symptoms, then another 3 days of improvement. The MDR was just dismal in so many ways, but the worst of it was the server. He removed our forks from our uneaten appetizers (uneaten because they were awful) and placed them on the bare table so we could use them again for our entrees. When I asked for salad dressing for my absolutely dry salad, he lifted a few pieces of lettuce with my fork and told me it was probably on the bottom (it wasn’t). I know Covid is very contagious and the ship was extremely crowded, but I believe it came from the MDR.

We also saw inTENse last night and were somewhat disappointed. It was the “modified” version because of the weather, which turned out to be no swimming or diving. That is why the show was so short. But… this afternoon we were on the Boardwalk and heard the music from inTENse. I left my SO at the Dog House and went to check it out. They were practicing for the show, and the practice included diving, aerialists, trampolines, and synchronized swimming. I don’t know if it was the group that is leaving the ship Sinday after eight months, or the new group. Possibly both? In any case, it was so enjoyable to watch and made up for last night. It is possible they will be practicing again tomorrow while we are at Coco Cay.

I have completed the health questionnaire and was poised to grab a screenshot of confetti and streamers announcing express passes, but no luck. I used the link provided at noon saying it was time, only to see the “too soon” message several times. The app was very sluggish in loading and actually told me (later) that it could not show my set sail pass and go to the counter at the terminal. I spent eight minutes fighting the app before I could get to the unimproved set sail pass.

If they are keeping those deposits to make up some of their earlier loss, they would have no motivation to prevent that scenario from happening.

The last time I called them, two weeks ago, the rep tried to talk me into upgrading to premium at a cost of $2,240.00 for fourteen days. I told him three times it makes no sense because we are non-drinkers, but he just kept reading the script. I will do almost anything to avoid calling again! I just used the app and paid full price. Edited to add: I really appreciate all of the good info that is shared on Cruise Critic, thank you all.

Is it possible that someone else accepted the offer before you got back to it? Not sure if the same cabin number is offered to more than one booking at a time.

I was going to wait and purchase internet for the length of the voyage (14 nights) once I was on board in March because I don’t see how to get the platinum 50% discount. Now I would like to just lock it in and forget about it. Could someone please explain how that discount is applied?

It is a shame you don’t enjoy desserts. I think the bourbon banana pie is the best thing on the menu.

So, are D+ set sail passes purple and express passes also purple but specifically state “Express Boarding”? If so, it seems like there were a lot of unused colors they could have chosen for express to make it less confusing. Or maybe there is a benefit in the works for D+? I will be doing my health questionnaire on Saturday for Port Canaveral on the 21st and will post anything interesting that may happen.

We take a few dollars for Diamond drink tips, otherwise no money at all. We always have a great time.
