  1. Did you make the payment directly with Princess? I know that I have had trouble making payments through my travel agent. I wanted to split the final payment into 2 payments (across 2 credit card closing dates). Both times, it showed "pending" for 4 business days. When I called the credit card, they said that the funds were issued to Princess (as in my credit limit had been docked), but Princess had to do something (I forgot). Princess showed payments (finally in full). So I don't know what the hang up was. $1.50 seems like a really strange amount.
  2. For what is it worth: 1. If the injury is covered by "cancel for any reason", you will get back the cruise fare minus the insurance cost. 2. If the injury is not covered, you will get the cruise fare back as Future Cruise Credit. 3. One person on the booking needs to remain/other name can be replaced. There may be a last minute passenger fee. I speak from experience. December 1, fell and broke my wrist in Hawaii December 7, surgery to fix and plate December 10, flew back to California December 23, flew to Seattle January 4, flew back to California 6 weeks post fracture, began physical therapy You are able to travel. She will need assistance. Nothing can be done while healing. I was given the option of a removable cast for 6 weeks, or have the surgery and be castless (sort of). I am guessing, that some orthopedic doctors might want a full hard cast. Hope she is comfortable and will consider going on the cruise. The wait staff will even cut up her meals.
  3. I was just watching a youtube video today. Tuber said to sit on the left (I think) side of the train going up. Conductor will be pointing out lots of stuff to look out for on the way up. Didn't talk much on the way back down. Have a wonderful trip. I will be following.

  5. You mentioned that you have 4 in your party. Do not purchase Princess Transfers from the airport. It will cost you an arm and a leg. Use the money to get a hotel room and a taxi/UBER.

  7. It's such a shame (I understand both sides) that Monterey was dropped. That would have been an acceptable reason for me to get on a Royal Class ship. Not meant to be. But then there is the Grand....out of LA....maybe, maybe, maybe.
  8. Take screen shots of all emails. One sister got OBC. The other didn’t. I had to show the paper trail.
  9. I thought I saw something in the personalizer that allowed you to extend your FCD. Not on my computer so can’t pull it up (and it’s late). Edit: just checked with my iPad, ability to extend not on account. Or call to have it extended. if you know of someone cruising, they will need your Captain Circle number and email address.

  11. Logan is not far from the terminal. From the bow of the ship/Gym, you can see the runways. Have a back up plan if flying in the same day. Remember there will be time zone changes. And Texas has some wicked weather that will ground/delay planes. I used UBER from the ship to Quincy Market. Cost me $16...including the tip.

  13. Better yet, go to your cruise (save as a favorite/or incognito). Click on quote flight and search to your hearts content. No risk in clicking the wrong button.
  14. Not to worry. You will be able to book your dinner reservations once on board for almost any time you want. They reserve tables for suites. Several times, I've had a card waiting for me with an assigned time (which I was able to change). Another time, I had just entered my cabin with the phone rang....asking me what time I wanted to go to dinner. And this was pre-medallion days.
  15. I wrote a nice email to DJ's supervisor. I received a reply back from her thanking me for taking the time to compliment an agent. There are "real" people in corporate.

  17. Thanks for letting me know that I live in a reality world. If you are self disciplined, you could also set up your own installment plan. You either pay the piper along the way or at the end. Just recently, I made a partial payment on a large balance. I planned it incorrectly. I should have made one payment, skip a month, and then make the final payment. I ran the risk of going over my limit by doing 2 consecutive charges. All of my credit card charges are paid in full each month. Now they have "flex" plans. No thank you. To @runner2013...thank you for the updates. I'm glad it worked out for your friend. We hear so little about Princess Promotions.
  18. I just happened upon this page on Princess.com Personalizer. I’ve done it before but thought it was moved to the app. Login Check in Dietary Requests …Distilled water …Low salt i don’t see a place to write specific allergies.
  19. I don't know if I was dreaming this, but somewhere....I read...that Princess does have an installment plan. Sometimes I have a hard time separating what I read on the computer and "reality". Of course, I didn't take a screen shot nor would I ever do this.
  20. @jeromep has a wealth of information. The one thing left out is that "sometimes" iMessaging will work on the ship without purchasing Medallion Net wifi service. It will only work with another iPhone. I say sometimes because it has happened to me and my friends. They could not get the iMessages I was able to send out. Don't know if it was user error or other.
  21. Your experience may differ (and I'm okay with that). There is a difference between bell service to take your bags from the room to the lobby AND bell service to take your bags to the ship. I can only report what happened to me.
  22. I've done that! I was looking for a refund for a cancelled excursion...Duh....wrong credit card. Refund was issued the day after I cancelled the excursion and looked for about a month; wondering why with multiple phone calls to Princess. At least you figured this out on your own. Good going.   23. I don't see why not. There are passengers who don't go ashore. There are (maybe) sea days. There might be short port days. The ED can schedule a 4 PM show on those days that don't have a conflict.
  24. When you check your credit card, does it say pending? I made 2 charges on Princess and each was pending for 4 business days before I actually saw it as a charge when I checked online. I've only made a bid once (and didn't get notice until 24 hours before the cruise that it was denied). Where you notified of a stateroom number assignment when they "accepted" your bid? Or did the email just say they acknowledge you submitted a bid?
