  1. Makes no difference never tipped cabin steward extra on day one and we have always had our stateroom/suite serviced before return from breakfast. You are kidding yourself thinking you get better service it makes no difference whatsoever.
  2. One thing I must say is we chatted to a lot of the staff in varying departments around the ship and many are moving to QA for her launch.
  3. I didn't refuse them they refused to give me any said they didn't want go down that way. Don't ask me why but that is what they did say.
  4. We really enjoyed the cruise even though we had a few issues but Cheryl the Concierge and Reception Manager solved problems superbly. Embarkation was a shambles even though we were slightly earlier than our QG boarding time. Obviously Cunard had started embarkation early and as we entered terminal were calling for Princess Grill and Platinum. Also there were many who totally ignored boarding times but Cunard still allowed them to board. We were successful in bidding for upgrade from PG to QG and ended up in Q5 deck 4 corner aft suite. The first night was awful with noise and vibration and next morning asked at reception for ear plugs which they refused. From then on we had issues with consistent blocked toilet. There were issues throughout the ship with awful smells on occasions. Eventually Cheryl (Concierge) told us to use public toilets which I said was unacceptable. After possibly thinking how bad that was we had a phone call from Reception Manager to be told we were being moved to Q2 on deck 7. Suite was first class on every way. With regards the food we never had a bad meal in any way as all food whether breakfast, lunch or dinner was first class and managed to work through all a la carte choices. The service was also excellent from our 2 waiters out head waiter and attentive service from maitre d. We also dined in the Verandah for our very first Diamond lunch and that was excellent.
  5. We arrived in Southampton today on QV. We left Madeira on Saturday and had rough seas up the coast of Portugal but nothing serious. The BoB was very calm and a lot smoother with no great swell or movement.
  6. Find another TA. You don't get discount with P&O for BLC it is extra OBC and is nothing to do with TA discount. They are wrong I would book elsewhere. My TA cannot give extra OBC but gives me extra discount to cover BLC discount on top of discount they already give.
  7. Depending what you booked. Epicurean you pay full amount for meal for everyone one in advance. Sindhu you pay £10pp deposit and 20% discount and Peninsular Club is sorted online and cost put on onboard account. Don't know about refund if you cancel Epicurean because never cancelled.
  8. Early show was 8pm and later show 10pm.
  9. You can only book Keel & Cow onboard and not pre cruise.
  10. I think it certainly felt like that on Arvia in September and staff didn't seem very happy and just going through the motions.
  11. Will upset many it why tip again when you have already had tips included in cruise fare.
  12. Cunard always advise you to put "in transit". I have applied for ESTAs on a few occasions and always put that without any problem.
  13. It is only IMO but the standard of dress of some people, both female and male, currently on QV for Smart Attire evening leaves a lot to be desired. Certainly a downward step IMO by Cunard in there decline of dress code.
  14. Sadly not a problem we have in UK anymore as Cunard stopped us from purchasing FCDs since the restart after the pandemic. So we do t have the opportunity of getting extra OBC.
  15. Also we have take into account the differing booking conditions that apply to bookings in US compared to UK.
  16. Many if not all give a discount off the fare out of the commission they are given by Cunard. We have always found our specialist cruise TA always beats the price quoted by Cunard if booked direct.
  17. Only recently in local supermarket a woman was face timing somebody and asking them what sandwich they wanted and then showing the selection one by one. However did they manage before.

  19. My advice is don't go for a Q5/6 on deck 4. We had booked a P2 on deck 6 and bid for an upgrade which was unfortunately accepted. The food on QG has been exceptional but corner aft suite is very noisy and not being a great sleeper is causing problems.

  21. I can assure you I have had a conversation with the coffee machine and it certainly wasn't convivial and definitely not in Italian.
  22. Boarding must have started way before 12-30 on Friday last week as we entered terminal they were already boarding and security queue was massive at 12-30.
  23. Yes the butler has been excellent so far even though we don't ask for much and with a far wider choice of drinks than last time on QE.
