  1. We have sailed on all current Cunard ships and also Caronia and QE2 and have had QG, PG, Balcony and inside cabin and in the majority had excellent cruises on them all. What everyone chooses is there own business and decision and not always is it down to cost and whether you can afford it. We have sailed in QG and would never book again not because of lack of money but value for money and dont think it was worth the extra now being charged over PG.
  2. Not freshly made batter that is crispy when cooked like in deep fat fryer. I have tasted it and it was horrible and soggy.
  3. Being a lover of freshly battered Haddock to go with my chips an air fryer would be no good for us so will stick with my deep fat fryer. But wife goes do some lovely stews/casseroles in a slow cooker.
  4. After repeated requests to P&O on their Faceache page with no success it was them that gave me Loyalty Dept e-mail and told me to e-mail them and they would sort it out.
  5. Dont even bother wasting you time and energy you might as well talk to a brick wall. I did not receive Christmas calendar last year and contacted them they eventually sent one at end of January. Queried with them as to why I had not received it as opted in to receive mail from P&O, they said they didnt know why but would sort it. Still no mail or e-mails from P&O so contacted them via P&Os Faceache page and every time they have said they will sort it. Still got no joy so contacted them again and they sent an e-mail address to write to Loyalty department so they could sort it. Still no success so have given up, bit annoying as have been cruising with P&O for 22yrs was Baltic but now Caribbean for few years and only have 4 cruises currently booked with P&O for 2023/24 obviously I am not loyal enough.
  6. Whilst legally you are correct with as far as any litigation for negligence if they prove that pools are regularly checked. I think as a matter of goodwill P&O should not charge them any medical charges for the incident.
  7. Times are a changing due to demand of majority of cruisers or potential new cruisers. Unfortunately P&O or any other cruise line cannot base future cruising on an older clientele who are sadly diminishing, harsh but true. More ports will come online with the more ships that are built with LNG it is just unfortunately Iona with it being one of the few that run on LNG it limits where they can go. Also a major factor the younger cruisers with families see the ship as the destination and not as concerned as older generation of ports of call. Whether we like it or not companies have to look forward and not back and like you say the likes of Aurora/Arcadia will be more costly to run so mean higher prices which puts many off and the more environmentally friendly ports will become the chances are they will not want older ships docking there.
  8. Sadly with P&O's past history of selling ships and cancelling cruises as long as they can find a buyer, which is the the big "IF" then I cant see at least one of those if not both lasting that long. By that time they will have 5 large ships with upwards of 15000+ berths a week to sell I think they will struggle and sell Aurora and Arcadia if there is a buyer.
  9. No Bolette's cruises that have been cancelled are in December because of lack of bookings and there are 4. She is due back in service for her Christmas cruise. The Balmoral has propeller issues and her next cruise has been cancelled so she can go into dry dock for repairs.
  10. Would never book with Saga because all the things offered are included in the price and I wouldnt want "shared" transport to Southampton and I never do excursions so that is a total waste of money.
  11. That is down to your TA some might give you extra discount instead of OBC that P&O offer to encourage you to book with them rather than book with P&O.
  12. Your TA will tell you that you only get BLC OBC if you book direct with P&O.
  13. If you look on BLC website under P&O Cruises and it says under T&Cs that you have to book a Select holiday, book direct with P&O and apply at time of booking cruise.
  14. With my limited knowledge of FO & Saga I don't think many cruiser's will be leaving FO to Saga as they are a completely different price level. Something I will not let it worry me because I would have no interest in cruising with either.
  15. Perhaps they are just the first to react and we dont know if many will follow suit. End of the day all cruise lines can only offer discounts and promotions to a level and without enough bookings going below that price level would be economical suicide.
  16. I think many cruise lines will struggle with new bookings at the moment especially for the notoriously quieter month of December. With the cost of living crisis, inflation only going to get higher and people worried about gas/electricity bills think the notoriously difficult month of December pre christmas will affect many cruise lines.
  17. It is in early December when all cruise lines struggle to fill their ships and to do so offer some very good deals normally. Unfortunately unless a few have booked early and paid a higher prices it will be harder to offer too low a price because of the price of fuel and food.
  18. So is BLC Select Fare only and booked direct
  19. That is correct they have cancelled 4 cruises on Bolette due to insufficient bookings to make the cruises worthwhile to operate with high fuel prices. They will carry out technical work which was scheduled for 2023 during that period and the ship will return to service for the Christmas cruise.
  20. Cunard are very closely combined with P&O both coming under Carnival UK and have the same staff in their HQ in Southampton. Princess have offices and staff in the same building but run independently from Cunard/P&O.
  21. I have tried in the past with a BLC and have been told you only get the OBC if you ask at time of booking and not later and you have to book direct with P&O and not through a TA. OBC with a Defence card might be different T&C's.
  22. That is only for cruises booked direct with P&O and not those through a TA.
  23. We have done many roundtrip TAs and have always booked an inside cabin and never had any problems whatsoever. Once outside of your cabin you have exactly the same facilities as everyone else. We are in the situation because balcony cabins on QM2 are so expensive if we didnt go in an inside cabin we wouldnt go at all. We are booked again to go next May love QM2.
