  1. Don't think it is a case of not recruiting call centre staff just that they cannot get the staff on the pay they are offering.
  2. Cannot see it myself as too close to the Bank Holiday on Monday 29th May. It would mean 2 BHs in the same week on a Monday and a Friday.
  3. They did mention the other day on TV that the Coronation would possibly be early Summer in 2023 and they dont think it will be a lot later like the last Coronation. I dont think they had any factual reason for saying, but they did seem certain it would not be 12 months after funeral like in 1953.
  4. Trying to fill in Personal Details on My Booking for an upcoming cruise on QV in October and it will not accept telephone number. Anyone else had same issue and how did they solve it have tried all methods no spaces, with spaces, without brackets. Any ideas gratefully accepted.
  5. If you have to pay with P&O they will certainly be dearer than the Barcelona cruise shuttle "blue" bus which is cheaper and drops off very close to Las Ramblas by Christopher Columbus statue and is 4-50 Euros each return.
  6. You have the patience of a saint because if she had spoken to me like that I wouldnt have given them her and taken them back in and give them to somebody more grateful.

  8. Unfortunately we live in a world where majority of companies charge as much as they economically can get away with why should Cunard be any difference. You don't sell something for $50 if you can get customers charging $120 especially as the bean counters at Carniv wouldn't be happy.
  9. But it has turned that way to allow Cunard to be competitive with headline prices and keep them lower. Our first cruise on QE2 in 1997 with the lowest grade inside cabin on the ship was over £100pppd. I shudder to think what it would be today with price of fuel and inflation since then. Nobody is forced to eat at speciality restaurants or do tours of the ship however expensive but if it gives Cunard revenue and lowers the price of cruises then I am all for it.

Not everyone will have the privilege of access to ship's concierge only reception and then anything can happen so best of luck with that and no doubt if arranged by Cunard in advance will come at considerable extra cost. Cannot see a problem there has always been taxis outside the ship at the dock when we have arrived in Funchal and we have been many times.
  11. We have done roundtrip TA on QM2 Sou-NY-Sou where we had 1 day in 15 days at port rest at sea. Also on such a beautiful liner is what it is all about.
  12. One of the best cruises we have ever done was the very first Seacation we did last August on QE. 7 nts no ports and sailing around Scottish Islands on west coast of Scotland and on 2 nts we stopped in the bays of 2 islands. Would love to do it again but dont suppose Cunard will do it again.
  13. That is something that no cruise line can guarantee due to the circumstances beyond their control.
  14. No you cannot as Cunard have a limit of $12 on any drink and because Cunard bar prices are a lot higher than P&O there are many drinks not covered by drinks package and at ,$69-95pppd is a lot more expensive.

P&Os drinks package is very similar if not exactly the same as Princess and Cunard you are limited to number of alcoholic drinks per 24hrs, price limit even though higher on Princess and Cunard per drink the actual prices of drinks on there are dearer than P&O and no bottles of wines allowed. So obviously all 3 packages are the same and cannot see any reason for any changes to drinks packages on P&O anytime soon. Having said that the price of Princess Plus is very competitive being £40 pppd which includes wi-fi and crew appreciation whereas Cunard not so competitive.

  17. We came across this couple of years ago on roundtrip TA on QM2. On day of release we tried to book a particular cabin for a designated roundtrip from Southampton to NY and return. Was told it was not available only ones available were in poor positions of the ship. If we had booked independently Southampton to NY and then NY to Southampton the cabin we wanted was available but at a lot higher price. We told our TA we were not interested in booking the poorer and left it that. 2 hrs later TA rang back and said Cunard had agreed to release the cabin we wanted so we booked. This proves that Cunard do hold cabins back in the hope you will book one that suits them and not one you want even when available.
  18. It is all smoke and mirrors. Even with current offers the price of the stateroom category we booked on K411 when first released with free parking is still cheaper then than it is now even with extra OBC so P&O are giving you nothing extra.
  19. But if I am parking with their company I have a right to know where my car park is being parked and they wouldn't tell me.
  20. It states on CPS website that all cars are parked in secure compounds within the docks and adjacent to cruise terminals.
  21. There Head Office is in Millbank Street but I am not sure if that is where they store the cars. Their website says cars never travel more than 3 miles so depends on which terminal you are at as it will vary. What worries me is I contacted them once asking where the cars are stored as I have an expensive car. They wouldn't give me a definite answer only that it is secure and has CCTV but wouldn't say where exactly. If they had nothing to hide why not put it on their website or say when asked.
  22. I have used both P4C and CPS over the years but now prefer CPS even though more expensive. P4C seem to have increased their prices more than CPS and when I checked for a cruise in October there wasn't a great deal of difference in price. But my main reason is CPS do not take your car out of the dock boundaries and park your car in a secure area. P4C nobody knows for definite other than a secure area on a nearby industrial estate a couple of miles on public highway. I want my car driven as little around Southampton as possible.
  23. I must have been very lucky in over 50 cruises with different companies that I have never had any hard sell. Whether walking around the ship, at dinner table or getting off at ports have been asked if I would like a photograph taken and a polite "no thank you" as always been sufficient and they have moved on.
  24. I have no problems with the photographers and think it is wrong to say we hope they dont return. There is many things on P&O ships that I dont like or use but wouldnt want to see them taken away because we are all different and many like the things onboard that I dont and as with photographers many like having their photo taken.
