  1. The whole Peninsular Club loyalty club is a bit of a joke at the moment. Been trying to get them sort out my preferences on my account so receive mail. Didnt receive calendar last Christmas contacted P&O and said they would send me one and sort out my mail preferences. Received Calendar but never received any Moments magazines contacted P&O by PM on their Facebook page repeatedly and they said they would sort it and put a Moments magazine in the post. Still not received anything contacted them again and they have passed the buck and gave me loyalty e-mail and told to contact them which I did and they havent even acknowledged receipt never mind responding to e-mail. That is what P&O calls loyalty but I have said for a long time P&O expect you to be loyal to them but they dont return the loyalty. I really believe that senior management believe that however bad they treat people they will still sail with P&O and sadly I think they are correct as people always find an excuse to stick with them even though they know deep down they are not the best. I have heard them all British food onboard, Sterling currency, cheap booze compared to American lines every excuse available and that is why P&O treat their customers with contempt because they know they will still sail with them and they will never improve.
  2. When we got off Emerald at Ocean Terminal on 14th June there were cubicles set up with staff wearing PPE at one side of the baggage hall so I assumed this is where those wanting tests prior to boarding were sent to have them done.
  3. Never even enquired because having Princess Plus we already had included internet. Another Elite benefit that is now useless unless you dont have Princess Plus and even then it is poorer because you now have to pay for something that was free before.
  4. At $60pp I would seriously consider finding somewhere cheaper at home prior to going down to Southampton or somewhere in Southampton.
  5. We watched the video whilst sitting having a drink by the pool and then went to Muster area and had our Medallion bleeped. We had green ticks on both Medallion App to say we had done both. Next day we had a letter saying we hadnt completed the embarkation muster process when we had so just put it in the bin. Never heard nothing else so came to one conclusion that Princess currently dont have a clue what they are doing and this was confirmed by the end of the cruise.
  6. If programme for Arvia started in Spring 2021 then it is only just over 12 months ago and not bookings started 2yrs ago as you stated. If it was 2yrs ago when bookings started that would mean Spring 2020 when it clearly wasn't that early.
  7. Think you are a bit wide of the mark saying bookings for Arvia started at least 2 yrs ago.
  8. The Princess Patter stated that Crown Grill was open every night for the whole of our cruise but it wasnt and they never mentioned Sabatini's at all even though it was open on some nights.
  9. P&O are not the only cruise line having supply and crewing problems. We recently cruised on Emerald Princess and was plainly obvious from the minute we got on the ship that they were short staffed and were having supply problems with many drinks not available from day one. They also had issues with regards to speciality restaurants Crown Grill and Sabatini's opening usually both open every day but they were never open together it was either one or the other and Planks and Steamers both remained closed for the whole duration. Those that are stating it is only a P&O problem and their intent to cheapen the brand or race to the bottom of the barrel are being rather silly making these statements as a lot of companies, not only cruise companies, are struggling to employ staff and supply issues.
  10. But how would you know that you were cancelled to make way for QE. There could be any number of reasons why it happened and having done many cruises with P&O and Cunard they never reveal the truth and always play thier cards very close to their chest.
  11. I suppose as both cruise lines are under Carnival UK and the Carnival plc I suppose it depends who booked the berth first.
  12. You could say those on Cunard knock P&O are doing it more out of loyalty but for some reason many call it snobbery.
  13. We will in future once all current bookings have been spent only book with Cunard.
  14. Sorry after my last cruise on Emerald I have gone down the slide and jumped ship. No more Princess for me.
  15. You could not only end up in one of the dreaded deck 8 cabins but you could end up in a very poor position on the ship due to movement or noise and then you could ruin your cruise completely for the sake of £500. If it was me and if you are driving to Southampton I would book Select and choose my cabin and have free parking.
  16. Equally I have heard many P&Oers poo- pooing Marella cruise formerly Thomson so cruise snobbery is alive and kicking on all cruise lines.
  17. Many Carnival cruise lines are running at about 80% occupancy so a big improvement on when they first restarted cruising last Summer. They are probably not earning enough as yet to pay off the debt mountain they have hanging around their necks and that is why the share price is low. But with the new ships being built and hopefully the return to full capacity in the near future and with no isolation whilst onboard then hopefully more will have the confidence to cruise again and Carnival seeing a brighter future ahead being it long term.
  18. It will never be over we will have to live with Covid forever all we can hope for is treating it like many other diseases. You get new variants of many diseases especially flu so Covid will be no different.
  19. Sorry but it is not just the crew you can blame. There is every chance that some customers could be in the early stages of Covid and still pass a LFT and then get onboard and Covid will rear its ugly head and spread like wildfire like it did on our Emerald Princess cruise earlier this month.
  20. All MUTS shown on Emerald Princess earlier this month were also available on the cabin TV. Some weird times for some of the films especially the latest were on MUTS either over lunchtime or in morning on Port days. At least if you wanted you could watch them at a later date on cabin TV.
  21. Can honestly say after doing over 30 cruises with P&O and always using my credit card have never had any problems whatsoever with pre authorisations or them staying on my account after the final balance has been paid on last night of cruise.
  22. Yes we got a lovely bouquet of flowers a bottle of decent champagne and plate of chocolate dipped strawberries. We didn't get just breakfast in Sabatini's so as usual MissP22 is wrong again
  23. Does it really matter most items onboard in shops are overpriced anyway and no great bargains. The only real saving can be made on booze and cigs.
  24. Recently cruised on Emerald around British Isles and movies that were shown were West Side Story, The Father, Belfast and No Time to Die all fairly recent releases in the UK. I think purely on cost and nothing to do with pandemic but dont expect to see brand new movies that have only just been released on a cruise ship.
