  1. 6'5" here and beds are plenty long.
  2. How many people here have to tell you the food on Azamara has been fine after the RCI breakaway? If you were disappointed, just go back to Celebrity.
  3. Reservations are first-come, first-served, regardless of stateroom category. The fact that there are more suites on Onward and that suite passengers do not pay additional for the specialties may result in increased demand for specialties and that can make it harder to get reservations for everyone, not just non-suite passengers.
  4. They put tags on your bags with your stateroom number. Pretty simple.
  5. If there is not enough wait staff to open Amphora for breakfast and lunch on cold weather cruises, Veranda will not have sufficient seating and people will stand waiting for a table. Yacht Club was not expanded and is too small for full ships.
  6. A Star Collector cruise is two shorter cruises packaged together and sold as one cruise.
  7. June 4 is changeover day in Edinburgh and cruise lines often have no excursions on changeover day. We, like you, have booked the 5/25 cruise (not 5/23) as one 20-day Star Collector cruise, but many will be leaving the ship on June 4 after a 10-day cruise and a new set of passengers will be boarding on the 4th for the next 10-day cruise.
  8. 24 days on Onward during the holidays and saw no deterioration in the onboard experience. Others here have said the same. So I don't know what is meant by "Larry's brilliant Azamara concepts." If these concepts involve the onboard experience, there is nothing "dumbed down" or "bland mass market" or "deteriorated" about them.
  9. Not clear to me why anyone here thinks Azamara is about to fail. Our 24 days on Onward during the holidays were as good as ever. We have one side of a story about someone's flight being canceled and people think the sky is falling? Nonsense.
  10. Our experience has been that boarding begins at 2. Arriving earlier may get you into a group that boards ahead of other groups...but still after 2.
  11. Best way to appreciate Egypt is to take a two-week tour, one week in Cairo and one on a Nile boat. Else it's just a superficial gloss-over.
  12. Pretty sure it was Carlsberg recently on Onward.
  13. It was in fine shape in December and early January.
  14. Having spent 36 nights on Quest and Onward in the past twelve months, I think the current product is just fine. But I don't need constant music in my ears while awake in order to be happy.
  15. Prefer the "old cabin" furniture, too. Tried the "new." Going back to the "old."
  16. You can't be serious. OBC can be used for ship's excursions. If you can book these online before your cruise, you should be able to use the OBC you're being given rather than having to shell out $1000+ upfront, and then requiring the excursion staff to go through the trouble to cancel, rebook and process transactions to your credit card...for everyone who booked excursions online. Azamara allows you to book excursions online using your OBC. Windstar should, too.
  17. Did a north Atlantic crossing from Southampton to Manhattan in a deck 12 veranda on the stern. No issues. Another from Dover to Boston via Reykjavik. No issues. Frankly, it all depends on weather at the time
  18. Never seen a cruise line where it could be used for the daily gratuity amount. It's not real money. Good only to buy overpriced excursions, overpriced spa treatments, overpriced shop stuff, etc.
  19. Windstar should update its system to allow you to book online using OBC from Windstar. Especially considering the steep prices we're now seeing. They're getting a lot of float from us.
  20. If you want towels replaced they should be left on the floor.
  21. French, Italian and Stateside were excellent in December on Onward.
