  1. Show starts a bit slow, but it gathers steam quickly. Don't miss it..
  2. One of the best Evenings, I'd say.
  3. Might also be a veranda on the stern where the dividers are sloped and it's easy to see into the veranda next door.
  4. Yes, there is ship's superstructure that covers a small upper corner of the veranda at the rear. Search on Azamara Quest and look for an image that shows the ship from the side. It's not a big deal.
  5. Author didn't do his research or he'd at least have spelled Pimentel correctly.
  6. Blag, I'm pleased you had that experience on Regent. We've spent 49 nights on Regent, and our experiences were very different. You'll note I wrote the menus were "more ambitious." Like Crystal with it's more ambitious menus, the execution was often, as you wrote, poor.
  7. This exactly captures our two experiences on Regent, Oceania's "luxury" big sister. Ambitious menus, better liquor, but a not especially attractive "vibe." Words like impersonal, cold, anonymous come to mind as descriptors. Depends, I suppose, on what your priorities are.
  8. Makes no sense to me that dress should change from night to night in a restaurant. A restaurant is either "formal," or it isn't. Otherwise, it's a costume party.
  9. Windstar. Closest line to Azamara that we've found in terms of crew and ambiance. Some misses: no real evening entertainment; no dinner buffet; main dining room starts dinner at 7. Good Canada/New England itineraries including Iceland and Greenland.
  10. As I wrote: Ask where the reservations desk is. Don't play hide and seek.
  11. Book specialties as soon as you board. Ask where the reservation desk is.
  12. Boarding in December. Expecting the usual Azamara experience like we had this past December. Five Azamara cruises booked.
  13. Just paid $311 for dinner for two and a good Malbec at a fine steakhouse in a Boston suburb. Chef's Table is a deal. As are the specialties.
  14. Really not much in the way of "sights" in Maputo. You do get a sense of the abject poverty in Mozambique. Pool and lunch is probably a good plan.
  15. We did a Maputo excursion that ended with buffet lunch at the Polana Serena hotel. Best buffet we've experienced.
  16. Pride also calls at Portland and Bar Harbor in the US.
  17. I haven't found that to be the case.
  18. I've taken hundreds of showers in those "tiny showers" and have never felt a need for finding an alternative (and I'm not a little person). Just shake my head at people making big deals out of nothing.
  19. No reason to tip for room service. Choose your table at White Night, and, if you've become friends with other passengers, your tablemates.
  20. Gratuities are included in the cruise fare. We show our appreciation by putting money into the Crew Welfare Fund. That benefits all the crew, not just the ones you interact with.
