  1. Interesting, must be a new thing. Been parking there for 12 years and never had an issue with getting a spot. 90% of the time I get a spot within a 100ft of the elevator
  2. If you want the best possible Alaskan cruise pick the smallest ship you can. Seeing Alaska is not about what ship has the best shows, live music, race tracks or food. Its about trying to see and experience nature at her best
  3. Not for a while, we were a little disappointed in NCL in January. The only thing that saved us was we were staying in the Haven. Hopefully service has improved
  4. Looks like a great cruise!
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Arm3mAh8dGo
  6. Thank you for the compliment. Sorry, that is one ship we have never been on. I always wanted to book a Haven cabin on the Epic but the time and location never worked out. Check out Harr Travels channel, Danny Harr has over a 1000 videos
  7. You were told wrong. You get all the Haven perks no matter if you book the cabin or get it as an upgrade. You also keep any perks you booked originally, butler and concierge service is standard
  8. Having a Haven cabin is great for getting off the ship is record time....
  9. It's been many years since we sailed on the Gem. Looking at booking a Non Haven suite for a January cruise. Have the suites been updated in the last 7 years?
  10. Have the Aft and Forward Non Haven Suites on the Gem been updated in the last 10 years?
  11. Thanks, I should have known it was per person. I saw thought $1999 and thought Wow that's a heck of a deal for the cabin Lol
  12. Its back up but the pricing is strange. Club Balcony is listed for $1999...... until you click on the page and then its $3998...... or is the first page Per Person?
  13. My screen shot was from this morning.... looks like it back up now. I even went as far as trying three different browsers Lol
  14. I've been looking at this cruise for a few weeks now. Last time I looked was Saturday and everything was available, now nothing is. Waited on hold for 30 minutes and up
  15. Thanks, that's what I figured since the Jewel class ships don't have a Haven lounge
  16. Wondering if you get any elevator perks on the Gem (Non Haven Suite) like you do on Away types ships. By perks I mean using the crew elevators to get off the ship while in port. I know the Gem does not have a Haven lounge area
  17. Thinking of sailing the Gem in a Non Haven Suite. I was wondering in the Jewel class ships offer the same perks getting off the ship in port (via crew elevator). I know the Jewel class ships don't have a Haven lounge
  18. They really need to take some lessons from Apple.
  19. You did great! Sounds like you had nice trip under the circumstances..... I really feel for you, my father has dementia and my mother is his caretaker, she wants to have him home as long as she can take care of him, she is 86. My father was once extremely active, now he sleeps or lays around 18 hours a day. All I have to say is thank god for medical marijuana. It really does help him from getting angry and has stopped the crazy mood swings you see in some people with dementia
  20. Yea, it was seem like that would be the most efficient thing to do Lol.
  21. You are correct we had a Spa Suite. In theory everyone who buys the thermal pass within a week of sailing should have Spa printed on the card, at least that is what they told me in the Spa. We had a Haven Spa cabin, our friends down the hall had a balcony spa cabin and nothing was on their cards
  22. On our Getaway cruise in January our cabin card said "Spa" on it.
  23. You will be most likely be told when checking in and then when you get on the ship is the buffet is open. For whatever reason I've never heard then say a dining room is open. I guess they try to steer everyone to the buffet
