  1. Bid what you feel is comfortable. If you win great, if not you still have a nice cabin. How much is a fair to good bid? If you win........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN_k8_puSY4&t
  2. During out three day run back we were moving 18-20kts and arrived in NYC at 3am??
  3. If you can book now great, if not just wait until you board. When you enter the Haven lounge the concierge will be talking about booking shows you can book. Edit.... I almost forget this while we were waiting in the Haven waiting room on the pier one of the concierge's was handing out paper and pens to book shows...... I still have my Haven Pen Lol
  4. Too bad your missing Amber Cove, looking forward to your video. I love helicopters tours. Best one ever was to the GC
  5. My wife had a half dozen different starbucks drinks in the Haven restaurant on the GA in January, no charges
  6. Which I always thought was strange because the Asian market has the most of the most amount of spa's
  7. Have a great cruise! Its too bad NCL does not go to Belize City anymore. I was there twice when they would tender and had a great time

  9. On our 12 day cruise in January on the Getaway the Haven restaurant had the best food and service by far. We also ate at Le Bistro, Cagney's, Moderno and two of the standard restaurants... Service in the Haven restaurant was excellent. Butler - Concierge can be hit or miss. Check out the videos below
  10. Ice? Thats a good one considering the cruise is two months away.
  11. I guess I should feel lucky on our cruise in January on the Getaway we only had 5 teens, and they were all very respectful and nice kids
  12. I agree with you, it's not the majority of kids. My son is a teacher, loves he job. Most of his kids are great, well behaved and have the normal issues kids have in the 10th-12 grade. The problem kids have problem parents. They are somehow never around to take a phone call or return an email. If my son didn't have to spend time chasing down parents it would make his job easier.
  13. Thats because they have lousy parents..... 😉
  14. The paid tour was better / longer than the free one you got. On the Getaway in January I 'heard" when they bring them back it will be $149 per person for the paid tour. I think the first one I did was $50
  15. Probably sharpening their pencils to get a little better fuel economy. Bermuda in January... hopefully the weather will be decent
  16. Wow, if nothing else thats some nice port time! I can't remember the last time I saw a 12 hour day in port. In some cases you might have time for two NCL excursion
  17. Reading this.... I never thought of Norfolk having "Pristine Sand" I also never considered Bermuda as being part of the Caribbean Lol
  18. The check in for Haven was simple and quick in January. At the front area is the security lines everyone goes thru. They had a separate line for Haven, one of the pier workers pointed us to which line to get in. After you go thru that the actual Haven check in was almost at the other end of the terminal on the left. This is were you checkin and get your cabin cards. The Haven waiting room was right across from this. This was the location at the time of our sailing, been going out of NYC for 12 years and I have seen Haven checkin at three different areas. From the time we walked into the terminal to the time we were in the Haven waiting area was 15 minutes.
  19. Thats crazy? How did they know you had them. I kept mine in a backpack and walk off and on the ship a half dozen times, thru the Xray machine and only once did security even ask what I had in the bag. I said two Gopro cameras and a underwater scooter. His response was that looks cool..... Lol
  20. You would think it would have been as simply as that
  21. UBERSOCA CRUISE IS THE LARGEST SOCA FESTIVAL AT SEA! 5 Night Cruise | Food & Premium Drinks Inclusive | 55+ Events | 80+ Soca Entertainers | Non-Stop Soca Parties | Pre-Party | Live Concerts | Themed Parties | J’ouvert | MAS | Comedy Shows | Pool Parties | Beach Party & Raft Up | Workshops & Seminars | Sports Tournaments Theme: Spanish Fly Sounds like it could be fun if I was 35 years younger Lol
  22. Getaway Haven Spa Balcony 14140 Let me start out by the actually cabin was great. The location was not so great. Complaints from us and cabins ahead and behind us. We were right across from the forward service elevators the crew uses. My mistake for not looking at the deck plan. The main issue was between 7am-noon and then about 6pm-10pm. Their was a constance use of the door, every time the door closed it slammed.... like someone leaving their balcony wide open and then opening their cabin door and having being blown shut by the wind. I was told the safety latch (soft close) on the door was broken and it had been for a while. It was "fixed" the second to the last day on the cruise, the next day it was broken again. Our location also seemed to be a hub for parking carts, from room stewards to the butler. Often their was very little room to squeeze between our cabin door to walk around the carts. I joked to our butler and said if their was a fire in our cabin I would get out faster by leaping off the balcony instead of going out the cabin door. The cart location was changed for about two days, then they were back. Hopefully this not the norm, unfortunately the 8 Haven Spa Balconies are in the same area, right next to the service area. We heard complaints about the noise from both sides of the ship. I get it, its a design flaw of the ship, skinny hallways and nowhere to put carts. Maybe we just had bad 12 day period? Untitled.mov
