  1. I have found the best way to check 'release dates' is to go through the CCL/HAL press releases. https://www.carnivalcorp.com/media-center/news-releases?b0360944_field_nir_news_category[value][]=4081&b0360944_year[value]=_none&op=Filter&b0360944_widget_id=b0360944&form_build_id=form-TrgzWN120XknXn6Bmgcf8RYWzMlBMT1fc2IlXDB6ctQ&form_id=widget_form_base
  2. Absolutely! But as OP did not mention the itinerary I just wanted to point out that the preceeding port can be important. As an example, Trans Atlantic from Florida with a call in UK and then onto Le Havre, may be problematic as the traveller has not entered either the EU or Schengen until disembarking in Le Havre. We also don't know how the Schengen area ETIAS would affect this. If it was a Med/Europe cruise with ports in Spain/Portugal/France etc etc, then there would be no immigration problem and only necessary to get permission from HAL.
  3. Nothing wrong with pouring yourself two large glasses from your bottle and taking them with you!
  4. and in this case your port immediately preceeding LeHavre would have an impact concerning immigration.
  5. Thank you for that information. Interesting looking document. I wonder what else it would reveal???? 🤐
  6. If you are not on a cruise then the Navigator App shows today's menu for the ship for your next booked cruise. There is no way, that I can find, to view other ship menus or other days menus.
  7. That is totally unacceptable. Provided that it was clearly specified on the HAL Booking confirmation that the Crew Incentive was prepaid I would have refused to pay again ands told them it was up to them to sort it.
  8. Couple of things to bear in mind....... no direct flights from UK to FLL so you will need to change flights in U.S. airport. This will entail going through immigration and then claiming your checked luggage before handing in the luggage at the airline desk (near to luggage carousels). This takes time and you are after a long flight. You then will need to make your way to the departure gate for your flight to Fort Lauderdale. You will not have customs or immigration in FLL as you will have done it all at the first U.S. airport. So, just collect your checked luggage and grab a cab to a local hotel. We have done this numerous times. A direct flight from UK to Miami (MIA) would save the immigration/customs/baggage check at the intermediate airport, but you will have to do it in MIA and immigration there can be a nightmare. like 2 hours. An alternative for you to look at is flying from Dublin to MIA. You can preclear US immigration in Dublin so when you arrive in the US you just collect your baggage and go to your hotel. We stay in the Miami area and go shopping in Dolphin Mall for the day before heading to Port Everglades. A car service like Larry's Limos will collect you from your Miami hotel and take you to the cruise terminal in Port Everglades. Also bear in mind that you will be doing all this again (but in reverse) for your return trip. To make a connection from FLL to UK will mean at least one change and a long day. We spend the day in Miami (transfer/Uber etc) sight seeing, shopping and then get the evening flight back to Dublin. Much more civilised way to end a trip! Just play around with all the options as the cheapest or shortest flight may not end up being what you expected.

  11. Here is a new one that I have not seen before. NSD is currently in Goteborg, Sweden and will sail tonight to arrive in Copenhagen, Denmark to end a 7 day cruise sequence. 12. Dart station underlined in red and tender spot marked with X in red:
  13. Just going through the current Northern Europe menus and the Striploin is offered on MDR menu on regular nights and 15 oz Pinnacle Ribeye is offered on Gala & Culinary Council nights. Both at $20 +18%
  14. In Europe it is more expensive - 14 days wash, dry and fold is $147 and pressing is $70 p.s. gotta love the way the laundry special offers are listed just under "Renewal of Vows" and "Romantic Voyage" Package. 😍
  15. On the Rotterdam last year, the Master said that we would have good opportunities for Northern Lights Watching (as opposed to Northern Lights shape throwing 😉) while we were off the coast of Norway heading towards Iceland. It was suggested we go to one of the upper decks (I think it was Deck 10 Panorama Deck) and he turned off nearly all the outside lights for our improved viewing experience.
  16. Did you try on the Navigator App? Sometimes it shows on the App and not on the website.
  17. 😁 My original formula was that X = price in USD, therefore (X x 0.5) + (X x 0.18) = 4/5 * Mariner Price. That was a lot of x's so why, why? 🙄
  18. I think they can be used for the original booking or towards final payment. There are no HAL gift cards available in Europe. So really not sure how they work. I was just looking at the 'original currency' statements on the website. Are they available in CAD?
  19. I believe that these two posts give the answer to the question. HIA is an addition to the original booking and transfers and Prepay grats are all classed as "Travel Planning" which are only available in the currency of original booking. It would be awkward crediting USD gift cards to CAD or Euro bookings, so HAL takes the easy way out. Travel Planning Travel Planning items are purchased in the currency of your original booking. Gift cards cannot be applied towards Travel Planning items.
  20. You can pre purchase at any time from booking up to (I was informed by a HAL Agent in UK) 5 days prior to embarkation. If you are not in the US dollar area it can be advantageous to prepay as HAL uses a very generous exchange rate. Prepaid Grats are billed to credit card in the currency of the booking.
  21. For free meals (ie Have It All promo etc) the gratuity is included in the package, so no additional charge. If a 4/5 star 'buys' a speciality restaurant meal then the gratuity is based on the full price. e.g. ($YY - 50%)+ ($YY x 0.18) = price charged to account.
  22. @kazu Just after I posted the method to post pdf, I remembered you are a ipad user. For the post above I opened two separate browser windows and dragged the email attachment from the email into the "Drag files here......." panel. Would that work for ipad? Actually just noticed that posts the data and not the pdf. even clicking on the pdf link opens the data and does not give a download option. 🤔

  24. I just dragged them into the "Drag files here to attach, or choose files...) at the bottom of the "Reply to thread". It is a curse that readers then need to download them, but the positive is that they do not go sideways and upside down like when images are posted. 🤞😁
