  1. Okay, I'm whiney. LOL. And we have some familiarity with wildfires. We don't have air conditioning, usually we have fog.
  2. Cruise with Confidence goes through Sept. 30 if you booked before <I think> the end of March. That is why I didn't take insurance on our California cruise this month. Something else has been extended until April 2023, but I forget what it is. So many dates and programs to try and keep track of. Not a travel agent.
  3. Oh my gosh. It is so horribly hot here. I haven't been in the house much. This is day 4 of 100+ F. degrees, and it has been running 88-90 F. inside, even with the ceiling fans going full speed. Everything is melting. I went to put some cortisone ointment on a mosquito bite, and it was all liquid inside the tube. It is supposed to be a few more days of this. It doesn't even cool off at night, like it usually does. We are just worn out, limp from the heat.
  4. We had a problem at Playmakers, although I guess you are onboard now, Frank. The waiter didn't listen. And he tried to shove our whole dining onto a single tab, even though we both had the UDP. He missed the jalapeno poppers, that DH had ordered. Left the receipt at our table along with the food and went away...never to be seen again. We will be on again in September, and I will be a little more forceful about our UDP credits this time. I didn't even get to try and taste the Campfire Cookie. We were very disappointed with the service.
  5. I* noticed he was from the UK and edited my post. Thanks! I shouldn't have replied, because I don't actually know how it works in other countries. 😊
  6. The 18% gratuity is going to be added when you go to purchase the package. There is no charge when you order a drink onboard if you have the package. I should add that it is that way in the US. I don't know how it works with UK packages. Once we purchase it here, the gratuity is covered, unless you tip additional.
  7. They're fine. As @CAT GIRL posted, as long as the interior components are sealed. There is no box check, as with the eMed tests.
  8. I appreciate the shared knowledge and assistance. As I said, we know nothing about septic tanks. We've always been on city sewer. They have their own water supply up there, but the weird part is...there are no water meters. We pay a yearly fee for unlimited water. Never experienced that before either. Especially in a drought. There are a lot of reminder signs about not wasting water, which we don't. πŸ˜„
  9. Thank you for that explanation, Jim! The septic tank was pumped out about 10 years ago and has received very little use. There are a lot of big trees on the property, so it very well might be the leach field. We looked, and the Roto Rooter guy looked, and we still couldn't find the cover to the septic tank. More research is needed. We actually plan to move to the house for at least 2 years and sell the Bay Area house. 😊
  10. Here is the AirBnB house....if anyone is interested. It is a beautiful home. They just don't handle the guest garbage very well. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/54303523?adults=2&children=0&infants=0&check_in=2022-10-11&check_out=2022-10-16&federated_search_id=ccd32321-7989-44b0-9b9f-0c0504bd7841&source_impression_id=p3_1662090382_qH0Nb39xfMJi1TwX
  11. Oh yes! When I was cleaning out stuff, I found a couple of stickers entitled, "Be Bear Aware!". Number 2 was dispose of all garbage properly. I went over and applied one to the top of the AirBnB house garbage can. It was still on the lid. I don't know if it was the owner or who, but he looked ticked off at US, when he drove off yesterday afternoon, while the cleaners were there. @ReneeFLL That was a wonderful suggestion about photos. But I forgot to take any.
  12. We are back from the other house. Bobby the cat seems to think that there should be some way to get him from point A to B without a car ride. He was very unhappy but settled in now. The trip was a success! The garage is cleaned out, so we can resume filling it up again with house stuff. Roto Rooter has cleaned the main drain. Although the trash and tree hauler seems to think it is a septic tank/leach field issue and not a pipe issue. We know nothing about septic tanks. And I am so disappointed! All of our local Arby's have closed, so we stopped at the one that is about an hour away (on the way home). I always look forward to their sandwiches after the long drive. And they didn't ask, and we forgot to request Horsey Sauce! And then we found out we didn't have any at home. This was such a tiring trip; it was over a !00 F. every day. No AC and moving furniture and boxes. Oh well we will deal with it.
  13. May have been posted, but if so, I missed it. Captain Johnny's cabin on Harmony is very nice! 14. Day 3 doing clean out at our other house in the mountains, and we spent the afternoon with Roto-Rooter All 3 toilets were overflowing, and water was coming up in a shower drain. I do have to commend them for their services! I started calling plumbers at 2 o'clock, unsuccessfully. And Roto-Rooter was able to come at 3PM and was able to complete a main drain cleanout by 5. And the hauling guy is supposed to be here tomorrow at 9 AM. We are exhausted, and this is only the first load, but last for this trip. Congratulations on the new kitten Sue. Lizzie is really cute! Kittens are equally fun and annoying. 😊
  15. Both are eligible for the free tests. If you go to a pharmacy or grocery store with pharmacy, they will fill your 8 free test order while you wait. And it is per person/per month, if you need more.
  16. That is wonderful to hear! I think that some of us that have cruised previously have higher expectations.
  17. I swear @Keksie I am going to take this AirBnB host across the street to small claims court. We spent an hour today cleaning up bear trash from his guest's garbage that they had dragged over here to our house. It included rib bones, medical waste including needles and syringes, diapers, paper plates and cups. We carefully bagged it up. Their trash was overflowing, so I put it in their recycling. I don't care if it doesn't belong. Like the bears don't know what day it is. WM comes on Monday. I am just fed up with this.
  18. We are up at the other house in the Sierra foothills. We are trying to buckle down and get this house (previously my mom's) cleaned out. We have a hauler coming tomorrow to give us a quote. We brought Bobby, the cat with us, and listened to him yowl in his kennel for 3 hours. He is on meds for his hyperthyroidism, so it was better to bring him. He is an inherited cat and lived here for about 4 years before my mom passed away. He has been good. He spent all afternoon smelling and rubbing on things. Used his new litter box. Spent some time in my mom's old room. Fell asleep in our room, where our familiar suitcases are. And then after dinner, he went back and sat in his kennel, and yowled. like he was ready to go homeπŸ˜ƒ. Been here. Done that. We were cracking up. And trying to explain to him that we are going to be here for a few days. It was so funny.
