  1. Standard "single supplement" on Regent is 100%! That is why when a single supplement promotion is offered on a Regent cruise, it is a big deal.
  2. I think the person who mentioned the crowding and running out of food was probably talking about lunch. Dinner has always been empty when we have gone. P.S. agree lamb chops are delicious!
  3. This made me laugh so hard! Have only flown business class on the two trips I've taken in the last year thanks to the included airfare. Next week I fly from Tucson to Okinawa, Japan on my own dime, economy. Pray for me!
  4. Anyone who wants to continue virtually on the Splendor, @cwn has started a new thread:
  5. In case your question is serious, no additional tools needed, just a pen to fill out info! Plain rectangular have self adhesive on the back, and funky white ones you just thread through the rounded hole.
  6. We are on the Splendor Athens to Rome end of October, with pre and post cruise added on. Good thing I can rest when I get home!
  7. Scones every day on every ship at tea time! They are in different places on different ships, but just look for the covered chafing dish or ask one of the servers!
  8. Someone who just came off Navigator posted on RSSC Social Club today if you are on FB.
  9. Definitely do this. Get there before the bus! Just get a taxi from the hotel. I would take the luggage with you.
  10. I call that "being in the capable hands of Regent" mode! Last Spring we did a TA cruise, followed by a week of traveling on our own, then joined a Scenic river cruise with a pre-cruise in Lisbon. Was so happy to get to Lisbon and have someone else be in charge again!
  11. Can't tell you how excited I was to read the title on this thread! Oh boy, Georgia Peach is sailing again! I will look forward to reading with my morning coffee. I was on the Splendor TA last April and loved it.
  12. Correct. This happened on the cruise we just booked. Our TA put a hold on it so that we could book under the Black Friday offer a few days later. I was able to get the PDF of offered excursions (since booking for excursions had already opened) and start planning which ones I wanted. However, that won't indicate if any are waitlisted for your particular cruise, just if they will be offered.
  13. It would be a big help if everyone would review their cabin on Splendor after their cruise on Suite Guru. It isn't hard to do (instructions in very first post), and if you are really stuck on the technology, @UUNetBill will kindly turn a comment on the thread into a review on the spreadsheet.
  14. Someone mentioned recently that they take their newspaper to the library after they are done with it.
  15. I'm the person that had a problem on Deck 9 in April (and wrote a review of our original suite). My cruise buddy and I are booking Splendor again for next year, and know that 717 and 847 are both good suites. Sorry I can't be any more specific.
  16. If you haven't already, check the "Suite Guru" post pinned at the top of this Board. Check deck 8 and deck 9. First post has link to a spreadsheet for each ship.
  17. Yes, we started saying we didn't want the appetizers or only wanted certain ones on our last cruise. No problem!
  18. Forgot to mention that the menu only changes every 2 days. Agree with Pong that looking at the Sette Mari and CR menus in the afternoon is usually how we decide where to go.
  19. Wendy, We were in concierge on Navigator in July/August, and there were binoculars. Found them in one of the cabinets (the one with glasses, I think) near the refrigerator. Didn't notice if there was a speaker. Martha
  20. Hi mj_holiday. This is how we do it. Get seated by host. We love to sit out on the back deck if it is a nice evening. About now they come and ask if you would like a glass of Prosecco and bring water. Wait for the waiter to come over and greet us and bring the menu. This is when they should explain how Sette Mari works, if you aren't familiar with it. Along comes a server with small appetizers (bruschetta, fried cheese, zucchini crisps, parmesan Reggiano, etc.), served family style at the table. Waiter takes your order from menu. You can also ask them to bring items from the buffet when you order. Or you can tell them you will be going to the appetizer buffet yourself. This is when I order wine to go with what I'm having for dinner, either one of the two recommended wines of the night or something else, just like in CR. After ordering we go up to the buffet to get appetizers. Once we are done with appetizers, second course is served if you are having one (salad, soup, small pasta), then the main course is served. If you want everything served at the same time, let your server know (usually they ask). Finally after they clear the table they will bring over some biscotti and the dessert menu. For dessert you can either order from your server, or return to the dessert section of the buffet. Hints: Great place to go if you aren't too hungry one night, as the appetizer buffet can be quite filling and you don't need to get a main. Pastas can be small size or you can ask for it as a main.
  21. I think what I have learned so far is to get a guide for touring Istanbul. Just not as stalwart as @forgap
