  1. All cruise turnarounds are from Oceankaj. July 12 Nieuw Statendam will be at quay c333 (terminal 3) - July 2 it will is at terminal 1.
  2. The Copenhagen Marriott is located by the harbor a little outside the city centre. It is absolutely possible to take the train and walk from Hovedbanegården (Copenhagen Central) - 10 minutes walk - 650m (0.4 miles). It’s a 10 to 30 minutes walk to most attractions - for example 25 minutes along the harbor promenade to Nyhavn - 2 km (1.2 miles).
  3. it is actually not that cold in Alta in March. The average temperature in Alta in March for a typical day ranges from a high of 35˚F (2˚C) to a low of 13°F (-10°C). But looking for the northern lights is a stationary and prolonged stay under the open night sky. On open ship decks it can also feel much colder due to wind. Best way to dress for the cold is dress in layers. Use many thin, warm layers rather than a few thick layers. It will insulate better and allow you to strip off layers if the temperature rise. Also remember to wear more than one layer on your legs. Use water proof and insulated boots and wear warm socks. Wool is best, alternatively good synthetic fleece socks. You can also layer socks. Personally, I don't like shoe grips. In snow and ice, I use hiking boots with a good grip. Use a good quality coat, parka, or jacket. For the coat, the thicker the better,. Can either be synthetic jacket, a wool pea coat, or a down jacket. A warm hat is a must as well as comfortable, warm gloves or mittens. Fingers and hands are very vulnerable to the cold, so keep them covered. If necessary, use a scarf to cover the face.
  4. No. Might be a reposition cruise but not likely. best options for Norwegian fjord in combination with a Mediterranean cruise is still from Southampton
  5. There are not that many Mediterranean cruises from Amsterdam. You will have a greater chance from, for example, Southampton.
  6. Yes, late May and beginning of June is a good time - snow in the mountains and water in the rivers.
  7. Correct. You can see the waterfall from the ship - to the left just before you arrive into Geiranger or to the right just after setting sail from Geiranger. The whole sailing through the fjords into Geiranger takes 5 to 6 hours - I would suggest you are up at sunrise to enjoy sailing into the deep fjord. Same route in the evening but often there is dinner and many activities. Sunrise 04:15 am and sunset 10:45 pm. Entry into Geiranger just at the start of my video and departure at 2m8sec
  8. Definitely spring flowers in southern Norway but there is still snow in Honningsvåg. Hope your cruise is calling Honningsvåg after May 14 so you experience the midnight sun.
  9. Vueling is a Spanish low-cost airline that operates flights to a variety of destinations in Europe. I’m using Vueling from CPH to AGP. Definitely an option for good value for money. You just have to ensure that you are booked with the necessary luggage.
  10. Oslo is the capital and largest city of Norway. As such, it has a wealth of cultural attractions and things to see and do. Some must-see places in Oslo include the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Munch Museum, the Nobel Peace Center, and the Royal Palace. Other popular attractions include the Opera House, the City Hall, and Aker Brygge, a waterfront area with shops, restaurants, and bars. If you have time, you could also visit the Botanical Garden.
  11. Hurtigruten and various TAs have different offers - often with flights included in the price. My experience is also that there can be a large price difference for the same journey on different Hurtigruten web pages (.no, .com, .au, .co.uk and more). Check the price on the various websites - you can either book the cheapest or challenge the local office and try to get the journey for the same price. Havila is still in the start-up phase and has just with a two-year delay put all four of their ships into operation. All Havila ships are new and my experience is that prices are generally lower than Hurtigruten. The route and timetable are exactly the same for the two companies. Havila crews come from Hurtigruten so they are familiar with the conditions along the coast. In general, it is always a good idea to shop around and compare prices from different travel agents before booking a cruise. Have fun comparing prices.
  12. You can purchase three tickets in the app and just show your phone when entering the bus. At the metro you just need to show if asked if inspection Install the app and prepare for purchase. See picture. There might be taxis available - alternatively call - also here you can use an app.
  13. I have no information about the free shuttle bus from Oceankaj to Orientkaj outside the normal cruise season. Bus 164 departs every 20 minutes from the stop close to terminal 1 towards Orientkaj Metro Station - metro line M4 to the centre. (Timetable for Bus 164) There is a kiosk opposite terminal 1 but I doubt it is open. The only option besides Danish kroner in cash is the DOT Ticket app if you have data roaming on your phone in Denmark. Price is DKK 24 (2 zones) for a single ticket - ticket applies to both bus and metro. DOT Ticket App Enjoy the Christmas markets in Copenhagen. Free Christmas markets at ‘Kongens Nytorv’, ‘Højbro Plads’ and at ‘Nytorv’ (H.C.Andersen Christmas Market). And then of course in Tivoli - Entrance fee: DKK 145
  14. There are many factors to consider when trying to determine the best cruise line, such as the destination, the type of ship, the onboard amenities, and the quality of the service. Some of the top cruise lines has already been mentioned in posts above, but ultimately the best cruise line for you will depend on your personal preferences and budget. It's a good idea to research several different cruise lines and read reviews from other travelers to help you make an informed decision. Cruise Critic is a helpful resource when planning your cruise, as it provides a wealth of information and reviews from other travelers.
  15. Which ships is it? MS OTTO SVERDRUP calls at both Cruise Center Altona, Baakenhöft or Steinwerder. As mentioned in previous post you should be able to find information here at cruisegate-hamburg.de
  16. Sorry - FLL - didn’t check my spelling before posting.
  17. I have done am flights out of FFL several times - 11:15am should not be a problem.
  18. I do prefer Norwegian fjord cruises I June. Descent weather - might be rain or cold days - probably not very different from weather in Scotland - can also be cold when cruising the fjord early morning or late evening. Olden is located in a deep fjord - tiny city. Suggest excursion to Loen Skylift it Briksdal Glacier. Bergen, Ålesund and Stavanger are Coastal cities. You can easily explorer Bergen and Ålesund on your own. in Stavanger possible excursion to Lysefjord and Pulpit Rock.
  19. Traveling to Singapore without the necessary travel insurance with full cover for Illness, hospitalisation, treatment, transport home, assault and trip interruption is risky and can, if the accident happens, be very expensive. Insurance conditions and coverage work differently in different countries. It is important that your travel companion is either covered by your insurance or has their own insurance. Since I suspect that there is also a cruise, the insurance must of course also cover this. Some Cruise lines also has specific requirements for insurance coverage - this is from P&O cruises Terms and Conditions “When travelling with us, your insurance must include medical cover of £2 million minimum and cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses related to COVID-19”
  20. I assume that everyone who travels has travel insurance that covers illness, hospitalization and transport home. An amount of USD 30K is in this context a very low amount. I'm sure it will be covered by all travel insurances.
  21. MUC is probably the best airport in Europe for a transfer - not that big and vey efficient. But if your flight is three hours late again you’ll miss your connection anyway.
  22. These are three good suggestions but I would definitely suggest renting a car - car rental in Iceland is expensive though - but so are excursions. There are good roads in Iceland and very easy to navigate. Note, however, that rental cars are not allowed to drive on all roads, but for the areas you mention it is not a problem.

Have you received an invoice from Hurtigruten? If the IBAN NUMBER or SWIFT codes are correct, there is no risk - I have IBAN: N093 5082 05 12100 and SWIFT: DNBANOKK on my invoice from a few years ago. Personally, I prefer to pay by credit card. Ask Hurtigruten to send a link to credit card payment.
