I saw Melanie at a Hippiefest concert in 2008.Referring to great singers still appearing in concerts at old age: Mick Jagger will be 80 this month,Ringo Starr was 83 yesterday,Paul McCartney was 81 last month. They are all still drawing crowds.

Prior to my children being born we went to the Newport Folk Festival many times.For anyone into Folk Music especially from the 60’s and early 70’s I recommend the Festival Songbook.It has lyrics to some of the great songs as well as attendees at the festivals .

TSOTD is from Nassau,Bahamas. The President of a company that I worked for 50.+ years ago had a home there and photos of the island looked absolutely beautiful. Going there one day was something that I achieved in the last decade.

My Singing With Parkinsons just finished our weekly Zoom session . Today we sang Patriotic songs related to July 4. We sang songs written by Irving Berlin,Woody Guthrie and others .It was very moving.

I have a friend who I have known since I was 4 years old.He had throat cancer last year,made a complete recovery and to celebrate he is coming to the east coast to visit me and a friend of his in NJ.

TSOTD is from Breezy Point,NY.We have been there many times especially in a time where I could drink alcohol without restrictions. We have friends living there.The husband of the couple is referred to by residents as being the “Mayor” of Breezy Point. It is a gaited community.Whenever we were there and told a Security Guard that we were there to visit Jimmy…….we were welcomed warmly.

We did .I had great conversations including a cruise conversation.One of the couples just booked their first ever Celebrity cruise on the Eclipse .I have been on several Celebrity ships,not the Eclipse but we discussed cruising and I recommend them to CC.

We just arrived home .Normally we are at these parties 3 hours .Today we were there nearly 9 hours.

I DVR’d it .Many years ago I met George Shea ,the guy who hosted the competition.I do not know if he still does.He gave me his autograph and said that one day he will be famous.I still have the autograph.He was appearing in a NYC play titled Raw Guts and American Know How.

Interesting screen name.When my father came to the US in 1913 from the UK he was called a Greener.

It was storming in Manhattan about 30 minutes ago.Showers are predicted to hit my area about the time that we will be leaving our house. The Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest is on ESPN2 now. Happy holiday to all who celebrate.

He is only two years old ,whereas my next house neighbor has a dog who is 12 and he is used to the sounds and does not really react to it.

We have never been on a cruise that had great food,not even on Cunard.The food has always been great even on Walmart of the Seas.

The condo that I reside in has a no fireworks rule.Anyone caught setting them off will be fined $500.00.Last night for the first time since we have been living here we heard the sound.It appeared to be directly around the corner from us but we could not determine specifically where.

My daughter said that her dog Beuk must have felt like he was being tortured from the sound of the fireworks .

Every July 4 my daughter and family who live 5 minutes from Toby and I have a party to celebrate the holiday.Tomorrow they are doing something a bit different .They have invited two friends who are with the Port Authority Police Department and their families,two friends who are members of the NYPD and their families,two friends who are members of the FDNY and their families,two of my friends who are retired from a Long Island Fire Department and their families,my niece who is an MD and her family,a cousin of my SIL who is an MD and his family ,my wife who is a retired RN and a cousin of hers who is a retired RN and her family. We will be 56 people .
