  1. I'll feel better when I know the ship has left Seward! Leaving Ft Lauderdale Wednesday afternoon. On both cruises. Fingers crossed
  2. We're scheduled on B2B from Vancouver on September 8th. Flying from SoFlo on Wednesday. Supposed to hear if cruise is a go on Tuesday. Not packing yet
  3. I have really enjoyed following your trip, especially the Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire ports. Brought back many childhood memories of annual trip from Manchester to Galway in the summer to visit parents family farms to 'help with bringing in the hay' I was in Dublin for a day last October, can't wait to go back! Mary
  4. @ger_77 https://www.ridecircuit.com/fortlauderdale I use this service in Hollywood. Rides cost $2 per rider (used to be free). I downloaded the app and use it fairly regularly to get to the Broadwalk for my walks. Looks like it still free in Ft Lauderdale.
  5. I went for my annual physical Tuesday and asked my Physician about vaccinations. She recommended that I wait for the "new" Covid booster even though I could get the existing one now. She also said that I really don't need to get RSV vaccine. She is aware that we are cruising in Alaska next month, but said I seem to have a good immune system. I have not had covid yet, at least as far as I know. My DH tested positive for Covid last year and RSV earlier this year. no idea where he got exposed, but he has multiple medical comorbidities and she thinks he should get the vaccine for both before the trip .Hopefully next week Flu shot will be done in the beginning of October. Hope she is correct and I don't contract something on the trip/
  6. @cat shepard Thanks for the video, We have a turtle nest on the beach by our condo, they're expecting the babies to hatch any day (night) now.
  7. Glad to hear you are going for dental eval before the planning for radiation begins. Dental prophylaxis has led to a reduction in both short term and long term side effects. It sounds like a tough treatment but there will be help available so remember there is never a stupid question when it concerns your health. You got this πŸ™
  8. We were in Cartagena in December. DH uses a mobility scooter and was inclined to stay on the ship. finally agreed to join me in checking out the port area. He was very pleased to be able to move freely around the area as there were ramps and wide pathways. He really enjoyed taking photos of the many birds and animals in the area. The shopping area was also low pressure and we picked up some colorful ceramics to add to our collection .It was a most enjoyable couple of hours and if you have a scooter well worth doing, I understand that you are ambivalent at best about using one but please think about getting one to have available on this cruise. Our itinerary was similar to yours and the scooter was no problem in any of the ports,
  9. Just heard that port pilots are going to to ships waiting to enter port shortly,
  10. Local update re Port of Miami. Early this morning a small private vessel hit the Fisher Island ferry resulting in one death and one serious injury. Investigation is currently still ongoing and channel remains closed to boat traffic. Those ships that entered the port before the "accident " are not able to leave until clearance is given. Another of the only in Miami incidents. Especially for those outside the port currently experiencing thunderstorms. I can't imagine trying to rearrange flights etc and parking at the port is crazy!
  11. Agreed we do that also to Hollywood Beach. Taxis are always available and drivers are usually very helpful with luggage and DH's travel mobility scooter. Very efficient service
  12. Thanks for the updates. We're doing this cruise in September as second part of B2B, so am watching for current years reviews/comments. We are planning on Mendenhall glacier so any information you can provide about blue bus transportation will be greatly appreciated . Hope you have a great day today and the weather Improves.
  13. https://legacybox.com/products/vhs-conversion I used this company to digitize some tapes that were returned to me after several years of being "held hostage" by a former friend. They did an excellent job and I now have them on a USB drive although I think I've only watched them twice. I was however able to share them with some family members who has never seen them and for that I am very thankful/
  14. DARE day Dare Day on June 1 is the perfect opportunity for people to break out of their shells and do something different. Yes, not all people like to take risks β€” and it’s this very lack of courage that makes one fall into a comfort zone where even thinking of doing something daring becomes unacceptable. Do you want to continue living a calm and boring life free of all sorts of fun activities? If the answer is no, Dare Day is the perfect time for you to break out of your shell and shock everyone around you. Dare to be different and enjoy it while it lasts D.A.R.E. is a different day in April
  15. This is my life also!! Fortunately he will wear his TV Ears when watching tv.
