  1. Me too, going to Europe next month so decided to go for it. Had my first flight since lock down last weekend and finally decided to get the bivalent vaccine even though I really don’t appear to need it to travel,
  2. The last time I took the relocation cruise, a percentage of cruisers actually disembarked in PE to return home. There is a large over 55 community, The Villages, just north of Orlando and there was a large group of cruisers from there on the ship
  3. I put a beach towel on the floor over the cord at night to help with the tripping issue.
  4. Pilchards in tomato sauce on toast was living the good life when I was growing up!!
  5. I lean my phone against a bowl I have on my dining room table.
  6. Sounds like me, I'm not a beer drinker at beach gatherings and bringing a couple of cans to throw in the cooler and get nicely iced works for me.
  7. Love Maeve Binchy. As 1st generation Irish/English/American her books resonate with me on many levels. I feel like I am part of a community and that is special to me.
  8. I live in Hollywood FL and there is more weeds than in previous years. The city is doing a pretty good job of keeping it under control except when high tide is in the morning hours and it's difficult for the tractors to groom the beach, hasn't stopped people swimming though.
  9. I have a cruise tub also it was very useful last month when I got a last minute cruise. Didn't have to go to the store and risk C exposure!
  10. I am currently dog sitting our cousin's dog and was taking him on his morning walk when you posted this. There is an Argentinian bakery across the street and this morning I stopped and picked up some empanadas on our way home. They make really delicious versions and this is my favorite way to "make" them.
  11. @dfish Good luck with the IRS. I owned a condo in LA which I rented out when I returned to Florida to live. When I retired I decided to sell it as I was in a "making my life simpler" frame of mind. Of course I had to pay capital gains tax on the profits and did so as direct withdrawal from my bank account. three months later DH got a notice from the IRS saying no taxes had been paid.(I had owned the condo prior to marriage but we filed jointly). It was a fairly large amount and it took 2 months to get everything straight with the IRS as my payment was not recognized. even though they could see it credited as DH was the considered the primary taxpayer and the money did not come from his account.!!! It was very frustrating but eventually I got to speak with someone who was very helpful and got everything straightened out. Mary
  12. Several posts were apparently deleted prior to the post from host Hattie. They included a second repost of the sermon by Graham's wife and comments about management of the thread. It seems to me that even if someone is reporting the posts they must contain something not permitted by the rules otherwise they would not be deleted. Hopefully we can let this drop now and get back to the supportive and sharing daily we all love.
  13. This looks like a winner and I have cherry tomatoes that I need to use. Dinner tonight sorted! Thanks
  14. Hi everyone, Now at home relaxing after a busy day with DH. He decided that today was the day to buy a suit for his son's wedding which is in NY in September. He has been trying to get by with sport jacket and khakis but finally realized that "cocktail attire" required a suit!! It was not the easiest shopping experience as he is somewhat difficult to fit and really didn't want to do it but we ended up getting a nice suit and at what I think was a reasonable price. The pants were ordered as they didn't have the color in his size. Should be here next week and then the suit will be altered. Glad that the decision was made. Thanks for all the photos of Hong Kong today, visited before the lease ran out but not by ship. Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays healthy.
  15. Many of the weekender crowd, as you refer to them, are NOT one off cruisers and many of those weekend crowds are frequent cruisers who live locally and cruise once or twice a month. If this was not a good source of revenue for royal I don't think they would be placing re amped freedom class ships on these routes. Getting testing prior to cruise twice a month compared to twice a year is a big difference.
  16. When I was at Coco Cay last month the tram did go to the ship both for pick up and drop off. I actually walked and DH rode his scooter until we reached the tram station on the Island. On the way back the tram dropped us off at the ship, the driver was very friendly and informative and was telling us about life on the Island after the ships leave or I would have got off at the station and walked. We really didn't take the scooter in the sand as DH has difficulty walking and didn't want to swim at the beach. The pool has a walk in area which is much better for him as I can easily assist him. As you are planning to go to the beach club, check with the staff on board re accessibility when you board.
  17. My husband has his own mobility scooter and was able to get it on the tram, there are several that have drop down ramps for scooters and wheechairs
