  1. This interests me immensely ans I’ve only experienced Arts on the Muse. Silver Queen and I loved it for its intimacy, much like a beloved neighborhood coffee shop. We loved rolling out of bed late in the morning, donning a ball cap for the stroll down the hallway (always removed before entering Arts, Mr. Silver), and ordering some sort of a frou-frou cup of coffee along with yogurt and berries (usually a pastry for me 😁) too. It was all so chill and a perfect place to ease into the day while reading yesterday’s NYTimes summary. It sounds as if the space is quite large now, more like a restaurant. So, do you find it laid back and relaxing, or has it turned into the hustle-and-bustle of a city corner coffee shop or diner? Now THAT sounds like quite the pre-dinner cocktail!
  2. Rumor on the street is SS Air going away and will now be handled by RCL. Anyone care to confirm?
  3. That’s how it’s done, Mr. Luxury; hot fries, cold steak. 😉
  4. Looks like fun! A shame they only offered two wine choices as there is so many options one could have in pairing wine with this menu.
  5. Appreciate the overview. Don’t be overly worried about the size of the Nova vs. Dawn though, because ultimately it’s all about the design layout. In my opinion, the Spirit is the worst because of the minimal space between bed and wall mirror stool. When in use, it’s virtually impossible to walk between the two.
  6. I’m a simple guy. If my buddy can drink Folgers, surely the OP can survive with Illy @ 5:30a.
  7. Give her German food a try some day. 🤯
  8. Yes, of course. In fact, they could have made arrangements for said “hot” coffee to be a standing order and served each day @ 5:30a. Amazing what Butlers can do these days. 🙄
  9. I agree. There is no way that Dolcevita Diva’s boss could ever figure this out.
  10. That would be pretty slick and I like how you think! Hopefully that will be the case when we try the SALT program for the first time next year.
  11. In general, yes, very similar. In the past, changes on the Connoisseur List were relatively slow and from what I can tell, remain so. Hopefully other wine aficionados will chime in with their recent experiences.
  12. @ronrick1943, if you do a search and go back to look at posts from this past holiday season, you’ll find the vast majority of folks here who posted were less than impressed. I remember two in particular who are long time SS passengers and both felt it was one of the worst holiday meals they’d ever experienced on board SS.
  13. My guess, < 10%. From most of the people I’ve spoken with who get kick backs, they usually do all the work anyway. They just book with a particular agent because of the kickback.
  14. I was told there was a partial charter (financial advisors) on the Spirit a couple of weeks ago (Greece & Turkey) and wondered if anyone here was on that voyage? Since I haven't seen any complaints of it here in the forum, my assumption is the voyage was enjoyed by most.
  15. Yes No. But, there will be a page of daily specials. Not necessarily. In the past it all depended on whether you were sailing on a classic ship or expedition ship, but based on recent reporting elsewhere here in the forum, it seems it now also depends on who the Hotel Director and dining venue managers are as well. Hard to say what you can and cannot wear anymore.
  16. Attached is the current list by the bottle. My thoughts (from an American pricing perspective) are as follows: Keeping with SS's heritage, Italian wines continue to offer the greatest value overall to passengers. Both white and red French Burgundy are priced fairly with some excellent bargains to be found. French Bordeaux continues to be over priced which has historically always been the case on SS. There are some gems to be found in the Champagne section. All three Spanish wines are priced below retail with two pushing 30% discounts. Those who like California Chardonnay will continue to be sorely disappointed in the boring offerings that haven't changed in at least four years. For those who like the always excellent Leeuwin Estate chardonnay are going to be sad to learn SS no longer prices the bottling below retail as the current price is now two-thirds higher than retail. Happy Hunting! Hopefully the color coding will help folks find the values on the list. And, while I know wine ratings are always subjective, I have included Wine Spectator ratings when I could find them. ConnoisseurWineListSilverSpirit20230721.xlsx
  17. I agree with the above posts and remember from @WesW’s past posts his success in negotiating early boarding on select voyages. Maybe he will share his experience here, but I believe he used his TA to make the arrangements.
  18. Totally agree. I know someone who still has FCC to be used on a voyage in 2025.
  19. Agree. Excellent restaurant. We also enjoyed Les Amis in Singapore very much. I will never forget the langoustine dish I had there as it was the best of my life.
