  1. Agree. We haven’t needed to show a ticket since 2016. Santiago asked for one in 2017, but I just said I didn’t have it and they let me right through to the SS personnel.
  2. Wait… are you saying now that you cared before? 😆 I thought you made your POV on the matter pretty clear months and months ago.
  3. After all the gnashing of teeth over the last month about the latest dress code topic, I do find it interesting the point the message above makes, especially considering La Dame has followed the daily dress code in the past. Could this be the first sign that the new ships (Nova & Ray) will forgo a broader formal night designation for the ship?
  4. SS is about to figure out what % of their passenger mix is “aspirational” rich vs. actually rich. 😁
  5. Now we all understand the dining charge changes forthcoming on Nova & Ray.
  6. Well, no wonder you don’t have room in your luggage for formal wear. 😉 Just kidding, just kidding…
  7. Considering how few SS passengers even know CruiseCritic exists, I imagine there are going to be a lot of ticked off people, like you, when they receive the email or worse yet, not until they dine, and learn their reservation for two @ $120 is not honored and instead costs and additional $200 more.
  8. For those who sailed SS before 2010 and dined in Le Champagne, how much did SS charge for the nightly regional (Burgundy, Bordeaux, etc.) degustation menus that included Connoisseur wine pairings? I can’t remember, unfortunately.
  9. Thx for the update from the other site. I don’t miss the drama over there, but appreciate the informative details you shared. How much you want to bet these enhancements are implemented on Silver Ray in 2024?
  10. You know your stuff! I will say, this 2006 was a pretty special bottle I was given in F on JAL pre-Covid.
  11. Vintage Krug for me and La Grande Dame for Silver Queen would be quite the highlight in La Dame.
  12. Santorini, like Venice, is absolutely dreamy in the evening and early morn when the hordes of cruise ship passengers aren’t there.
  13. Congratulations A Tucson Guy! Hopefully it’ll be easier getting reservations now.
  14. Thx Dolcevita Diva. They all sound good to me! Anne-Mari is our favorite SS Chef followed by Pia in a close second.
  15. I definitely understand your point. Going by Terry’s logic, I guess we should start calling the Minnesota twin cities “Saint Paul - Minneapolis” since Paul clearly has much more “history” being a Christian Apostle and all. 🙄
  16. I only read this forum and totally agree relative to SS over the past couple of years. And, from reports on board, the mix #’s of Venetians to New to SS passengers confirms your POV. Newbies are the lifeblood.
  17. ZQT… since Silver Queen isn’t on CC, we need a double laugh emoji so that you know your meme today tickled both our funny bones this morning.
  18. I’ve sailed with JP too! Didn’t know he was from Colorado though. Nice chap and I do like his voice. But, have you seen his handwriting? Whew doggie; it’s really something to see. 😉
  19. Oh my! Considering how short summer is in the mountains, I’d be sad. 😢
  20. If he’s from Albany, the CruiseCriticverse will go nuts, as in World Cup nuts. And, if Chris is the Hotel Director, I may lose my mind! 😆
  21. Thx! I totally didn’t think of that. Duh! The pics are fuzzy, so I’ll do my best to put the list together for you this week. Stay tuned.
  22. And there you have it, Tunaman. Sounds like you can dine wherever you like on the Dawn without your tie.
