  2. Thanks Roy! I've only posted a few times on the Daily but read it sporadically. I follow your blog also so know your whereabouts! Captain on the Rotterdam didn't mention what's happening with your ship in his announcement at about 12:30 today, but clearly the port is closed to all ships tomorrow. Glad you're safely ensconced in a dry hotel. ~Nancy
  3. Yes, @breakironis correct. Captain did say they tried to arrange an alternate Florida port for Wednesday but obviously weren't able to. People with flights out using FlighEase will be rebooked. Everyone on the ship is getting free internet to use if they don't already have it. We'll keep you informed of any further announcements.

  5. I'm on the Rotterdam now, ending the first segment of a B2B. Captain said earlier he is adjusting our path toward Florida to have the smoothest ride possible. He said he'll keep us updated. I'll post here whenever I hear anything more tomorrow. Fingers crossed for everyone impacted! ~Nancy
  6. I hope Florida catches a break this time with Nicole! I'm arriving at Port Everglades on Wednesday on the Rotterdam and leaving that afternoon on Rotterdam for an 11 day Southeastern Caribbean cruise. The captain announced earlier that he is adjusting our path toward Florida tomorrow in order to get the smoothest ride he can. He did say everything is up to change so of course he'll keep us informed. I hope both ships get out of port in time to make a beeline out of the path of the storm! I'll report anything else we hear from the captain tomorrow. ~Nancy
  7. I made a 3x5 fluorescent colored card that says "I'll Be Right Back" on it. Waiters get a kick out of it, and it's worked every time so far for me!! I use it at the bar too. I'm on Rotterdam right now and have seen people heading toward my table while i'm up getting something and they look at it then keep walking. Can't post a picture of it right now ~ Nancy
  8. Just left Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday. No Verifly lane. Verifly wouldn’t even let me add my cruise. It just went in circles.
  9. To clarify: All the ships have One Step Dance Company. Noordam does have BB Kings unless that’s changed recently.

  11. Exactly! Adds more paper waste but I can’t have crackers with my cheese plate due to individually wrapped crackers? An even larger problem to me is that for every receipt someone or several someone’s then must do an accounting of them all!!! What a waste of valuable staff resources!!! Sheesh 🙄
  12. And today it has the surcharges on the menu on Navigator. October 31, 2022. 🎃👻. Yesterday was the start of another new policy which someone had reported about on another ship, maybe 1-2 months ago. (Can’t remember). They now want you to sign a receipt for all drinks ordered even with the beverage package!! I expressed my surprise and dismay immediately on the “tell us” on Navigator app. The waiter came back a few minutes later and said he had to show it to us but we can just say okay and not bother signing it. Today it wasn’t mentioned when I ordered a beer in the lido but was presented one in Grand Dutch. Cafe. What a waste of everyone’s time. The waiter yesterday didn’t seem thrilled about it either!! I was very polite to him and told him I totally understand he needs to follow the rules of his supervisor. I got a printed note in my mailbox this morning saying that my comment had been forwarded to the appropriate department. 🙄
  13. I wasn’t even able to do anything on the app for this last week I was attempting. Neither add a cruise nor flight would do anything except the endless circling of the waiting sign. Didn’t need it anyway. It worked fine for me in September both for flight to Canada and cruise. 🤷‍♀️
  14. I’m not Marty but I’m on Rotterdam now and the Pinnacle menus DOES have a surcharge listed. $7 for an extra appetizer and $15 for an extra entree. ☹️ ~Nancy
  15. Boarded Rotterdam today. No sign of Verifly. Had to show that I had my vaccination card for Turks and Caicos requirements.

  17. I boarded Rotterdam today. No extra charge for additional appetizers in Pinnacle Grill listed on the menu. What is Rudy’s doing? You can get French onion soup every day at the MDR??!!
  18. We have all paid for those "free" pizzas in our cruise fares! New York Pizza on Nieuw Amsterdam is pretty good if you get extra cheese on it. 😐
  19. I was on a three month trip in 2019 over the tax time. I easily filed for an extension. I had an approximate amount I thought I would owe based on the previous years and paid that. It worked out great. I filed when I got home in June. Extension went to October.
  20. Verifly app has not worked every time I’ve tried for days. Circle just keeps going around and around for both cruises and flights. It worked great for me in September for both my flight and cruise. No requirements of testing for my cruise tomorrow so maybe the app has shut down??? 🤷‍♀️

  22. I’m not surprised by ship to ship inconsistencies on HAL. I have seen it for years but this is a big discrepancy from what Happy Hour prices were on Nieuw Amsterdam the last month I was was on. I got off Tuesday. Our HH price was 50% off any drink!! BIG difference I think! ~Nancy
