  1. I know I saw posts a year or so back but cannot find it. Anyone tell me the closest pillow to Princess one, which are the most comfortable I’ve ever used.
  2. We did the cruise last October and loved it. Lots of good weather but esp over 28 days there were plenty of variations too. we missed three ports (which though not required to compensate, Princess gave everyone 15% of their cruise fare back in credits). We appreciated that the captain chose to stay in Fremantle an extra night to allow a weather pressure system to get well ahead of us rather than go through it! Absolutely loved the cruise and the longer time gave it a totally different feel.
  3. We just cruised Alaska in may (Vancouver return) in a regular balcony and it was the most amazing scenery ever! It would have been a dream in the front one.
  4. That fact will help to counteract the desserts 😁
  5. We have just booked L103 on Majestic. Thanks for your tips. It’s our first cruise on a royal class so looking forward to the experience.
  6. We are looking at booking either L103 or L104 Majestic Princess. My question is this overlooked at all? We have never been on Majestic so I have been trying to find which balconies are covered, exposed to upper decks re privacy etc. Thanks in advance
  7. So I’m finding out. There’s a perfect one going Feb 1st 2024 Cunard one of the queens. But it’s too early! We only just got back from SA on 31 july. And we’ve got granddaughter wedding Feb too. Ideally it would have gone 2025 but serms it will not go til 2026
  8. If I find my cruise that's what we will do. Wanting Capetown South Africa to Australia
  9. I am currently investigating for 2025! Want to fly to South Africa and then sail back from Cape town to Australia. We don't mind which port of Australia as its easier to fly across Aus than to fly back from South Africa! Haven't found anything yet but ill keep my eye open. I'm not sure if you can nominate to disembark a particular port on a world cruise.
  10. Thanks for this info. I did see Cunard we’re going Feb 24. I would be hoping for similar route/time frame 2025. We’re in Melbourne but happy to disembark anywhere in Australia and fly home from there.
  11. Am considering doing this on our next trip to SA (my husband is ex pat) where we go regularly visiting family. Thinking it might be worth combining our love of cruising and ideally doing the return journey by cruise, though if it's not possible we could do the reverse route. I have started researching but not sure if it would be part of a world cruise rather than repositioning etc. Any feedback would be appreciated.

  13. Very sad. We were supposed to sail sydney to Hawaii next month but changed so we could go back to South Africa, which we are just back
  14. I have only heard it done Sydney (or Brisbane) anticlockwise. We just did Syd return last October and loved it. (Syd/Bri/Cairns ……,) we felt it had a completely different feel as it was a longer cruise. Much more relaxed as not rushing to try and get every experience in with two weeks etc 🥰 loved it and would happily repeat. We did our Coral Princess.
  15. You can exchange the mini bar for non alcoholic drinks (we don’t drink alcohol) so we chose what to keep and what to exchange. We chose ginger ale. We sent back all the miniatures plus beers plus coke and got 12 cans I think. We were booked right through as a cruise on a return journey out of Vancouver. But many did B2B. They treated us a B2B too and gave us a whole mini bar set up a second time. So we ended up with another 12 ginger beers. Lol. Shame they don’t do the coffee card anymore so we just bought coffees if we needed them
  16. The day rates are expensive too! Fairmont at airport was $350 for day I think. we disembarked, left our bags at pan pacific hotel bellboy desk ($5 each case as we’d stayed at the hotel pre cruise). We walked round to waterfront station, bought two day passes ($8.65 each as were pensioners) but only couple $$ dearer fir regular. We took ferry over to north Vancouver, awesome little market, coffees, eats etc. then we caught bus up to the movies (bronson st??) awesome complex. Watched the new movie we’d been wanting to see. By now it was 2.30. we walked the 15 mins back down to Canada place, picked up our cases and walked back round to waterfront station to catch sky rail to airport. (Still using our day pass). Our flight wasn’t til 10pm and we could use the lounge from 6pm so we got a nice quiet seat and had a coffee and people watched for an hour then made our way to check in. as a side note we had stayed 5 days in Vancouver pre cruise so there wasn’t any places we still wanted to visit so our plan was to relax before 15 hr flight home. Day cost us say $60 total including movie transport coffee & snacks
  17. It true it could be a different bus, I’ve not had experience with them, just comments on here.
  18. We stayed at the pan pacific fir five nights prior to boarding so used that good court regularly. As far as I know all princess have same menu and choices. We ate breakfast at the buffet every day as we wanted to be on deck or our balcony etc or we’re doing excursions etc. we both eat cereal for breakfast. Apart from a delicious Bircher muesli, they had dispensers with cornflakes, all bran and bran flakes. Plus a good amount of individual boxed Kellogg’s cereals, (including the granola which was one of the best I have had) Also weetbix, Rice Bubbles, wheat flakes, offered. if you really have your own fav could you take it out of the box and put it in your luggage?
  19. Right opposite Canada place is a whole food court which also has a pharmacy that is well stocked with large range of food choices. not sure which ship you are on but we were very impressed with the cereal choices on grand princess in may.
  20. I reckon you’re in with a chance! We were waitlisted for the Oct round aus we did last year and in the weeks prior we scored a balcony, it appears people regularly cancel last minute fir various reasons! Hope Cathryn’s ankle is going ok 🥰
  21. I am far more expert on flying than cruising lol.
  22. Personally I prefer to book my own with the carrier. Research using google? Booking.com? One of those sites. Then go deeper with actual carrier. I check the dates where I can be flexible and save many $$$ doing this. Either side of the date you want to go can save a $1000 many times. That’s enough to get a hotel room with change left over. then I always want to pick my seat. So hegira I fly, I want to know which flight has least passengers so far. So go to www.expertflyer.com and create a free account. then put in your date, flight number etc and it will give you live seating for that flight! If it’s already pretty full, check another time etc. next tip, airlines have seats blocked that you can’t pre select. (Shown with a cross on the map). At exactly 80 hours before the flight, these seats open! So go in fast and Re select your seat. it sounds a bit complicated but it’s not once you go in and check it out.
  23. We had a long time in Vancouver after disembarking (in may). We’d already spent five days exploring Vancouver pre cruise so ended up going to the movies which worked out great. We didn’t want to be worn out for our very long flight back to Australia.
