  1. I've sailed out of Bayonne on Celebrity. Although it looks a bit dodgy getting to the terminal, it's spacious, traffic flows nicely and there's plenty of room for everyone and everything.
  2. I like Bayonne better and agree with satxdiver. Let them have Red Hook.
  3. I did notice that too - no shipping charges now which is awesome. I just wish there was a place we could request SMALL denominations! When we ordered our Swiss Francs, we were give huge, huge notes. I know everything is expensive in Switzerland, but no one wanted to cash those. I'm going to try our WF branch office and see if they can request small bills.
  4. Update: I finally got through to InterContinental and they said they aren't allowing day-use bookings - only 1 full night reservations charged at the full price. Looks like that's what we'll do then - book a whole night and only use about 6 hrs. of it.
  5. I've tried calling them but the call wouldn't go through. I've tried regular IHG reservations and they couldn't connect me to that specific hotel's reservations desk, unlike Hilton who did it with ease. Is there an email I can use to book a day-use room? Any help would be appreciated. TIA
  6. Thanks. I’ve ordered it 3x before and it was worth it. I’ll look again tomorrow, thanks.
  7. I looked twice today and didn’t see it but I’ll check again. I did find out that our ATM limit is sufficient if we decide to go that route. Thanks to all for the help.
  8. Really good tips, everyone, thanks. The problem I have with using ATMs is that you're limited on how much cash you can take out daily AND you only get larger bills BUT, I just found out that Wells Fargo doesn't even sell XPFs. Guess we'll be using the ATMs then. Thanks.
  9. Awesome! Thank you so much for the info and the tip. Really appreciate it!
  10. I'd post this on the So. Pacific forum but there's very little traffic there and I'm afraid I won't get my question answered. I'm confused as to what currency we should have with us for our upcoming Tahiti cruise on the Regatta. I thought we needed XPF but then saw one place in Tahiti said they take Euros. Which is it? I'd rather not buy 2 currencies if I can avoid it. Thanks in advance for the help!
  11. Thank you so much! Very helpful!
  12. How do you book the optional tours? It says in the fantastic link above (thank you so much for that) that you should book them ASAP but not how to do it. ??
  13. Wondering where, and what, the AzAmazing Evening will be on this itinerary: Intensive Italy 11 nights Thanks so much for the help!
  14. In the Medallion, you can also "Hide your location from other guests". Just like on CC - you can hide posts by a specific person. I did this years ago and it's nice to have that capability.
  15. Hoping those of you that are cruising soon on the Emerald will let us know what they did exactly on the drydock.
  16. For sure! DH wants at least a mini and likes full sun on the balcony but 'your' cabin is definitely a good choice! Love how quiet it is in the aft area. Happy cruising!
  17. It'll be strange to be on a Grand Class ship again after the last 4 times on Royal Class ships. Those are great cabins to get, plus there's so much less passenger noise back there too.
  18. Good to see other SAT cruisers! We're looking forward to seeing the Emerald all spruced up next year too. It's been years since we've been on the Emerald.
  19. Thanks for that recommendation. Bought 2 in different sizes on Amazon for less than their website and faster delivery if anyone wants to purchase them in the future. Also, good recommendation to fill them 1/2 full with ice. Since these have a wide-mouth top, I'll be doing that.
  20. I think I'd opt for a hotel day pass if I were you. You'll have about 7 hrs. to wait. We're in the same basic pickle too. Our flight arrives at 5:00am but we're doing 2 days pre-cruise in an OWB in Moorea. We have to find something to do for about 4 hrs. until we can take the ferry to Moorea. We were thinking of hopping in a taxi and seeing if we can do a short island tour to see a bit of Tahiti with a drop-off at the port. If that doesn't work, then we'll take a taxi to the Papeete market and walk around dragging our luggage with us I guess. If anyone has any other ideas, please let us know.
  21. So sorry for your loss. It must've been really overwhelming to deal with everything. Hang in there.
  22. I hope this happens with Princess but I doubt it. First, they'd have to hire more people to "police" the deck chairs, then they'd have to deal with confronting the passengers trying to get their stuff back. Princess has always been reluctant to enforce its rules (dining room dress code for one example). I just don't see it happening however much I'd like it.
