  1. @ReneeFLL Renee & Mike, wishing you an enjoyable cruise to "down under". Pls. drop by with some pics and musings 😘
  2. Personally, I wouldn't chance it, given the Royal's IT performances... What if "it"/IT decide to cancel Emilie's booking??? Better phone and correct it beforehand.
  3. We knew that the ship is not our "cup of tea" before hand, and it didn't "disappoint".... Nevertheless, we choose to ignore "the ship", and focused on the advantages of its unique itinerary. Given the constraints of BUDGET and time, we were happy with the "results". First time for us not in a balcony. As long as you go with very low expectations, and treat the ship as a moving hotel, where you don't spend much time, you'll be OK.
  4. March 2016. For a once in a lifetime trip, we really got a nice taste of Hawaii. 4 islands, with overnights in Maui and Kauai. We rented ahead cars in every port.
  5. Thanks, Bonnie. First of all, hopefully you'll feel better soon and the pain will be gone ASAP. The plan is/was to spend at least 4 days in Miami before the cruise (and may be a day or two after the cruise, since direct flights are not daily), to recover from the jet lag. A stop in Europe will still leave me jet lagged... To a lesser extent, seeing the discussion on the roll call about the hotels' rates made me aware that it is an expensive time to book a hotel in Miami....😢 Thank you, Pat & Jen, really appreciate the kind words 😘
  6. You're in for a real treat [not that the helicopter's was less 😉]. We've done the "sail by" while cruising with POA. A m a z i n g.
  7. I don't remember suggesting this way or another, I think it was entirely discussed on Bella's. No worries, since lots of posters here will be on also on Bella's cruise... If, by some miracle, the flying time from Tel Aviv to Miami will be shorter than 14 hours, I will be there too 😢 😢
  8. Thank you, and thanks to all the posters. More important than the number of pages is the sharing and camaraderie 🌷
  9. + 10, @LucasLikesToCruise @h20skibum, Mark, from the moment you've shared, my thoughts are to your daughter and all your family. Since I'm helping with grants requests in the breast cancer research, this is one of the leading ones in this domain, if you're not familiar with, the Susan G. Komen foundation -- https://www.komen.org/breast-cancer/diagnosis/triple-negative/ 🤞
  10. This hotel looks to me like heaven on earth -- green, blue and sunshine 🌷 [Wishful thinking -- one way cruises to Hawaii year around, like Vancouver to Honolulu, spend some time in Hawaii, and back by ship.....]
  11. I'm using an US-based online cruising agency, and always choose the "Non US/Canada" option. Then my real Israeli address, no problems so far, except Princess, which only allows me to book through an Israeli agent....😢
  12. + 2, 3, 4 @A&L_Ont, @StanleyandGus, @Ourusualbeach, @#55worktoplay + .... Sorry if I forgot someone. + 1 Deb & Andy, @Momof3gurlz
  13. On our 1st cruise post-Covid, we had ~500$ in refundable OBC, accumulated over cancelled and change itinerary cruises. We limit ourselves to the 25 cents, up to 10$ per day. 1st time we won "big" twice -- 152$ & 163$ 😉. I deposited both cash winnings in my on board account, figuring I'll get it back on my cc [converted automatically in shekels, the Israeli currency], along with the remaining OBC. I have no need for cash dollars... On the last day, I went to GS just to be sure that this will be the process, and turns out that I absolutely have to receive the winnings back in cash, since repaying them via cc will be considered "money laundering".... Had I not ask, the winnings were lost. I tried to "plead" my case, claiming that it is plain that I've used my sea pass to play the slots and I didn't bring any "outside" money to "launder" -- to no avail....
  14. First rain of the season is looming at sunrise, just on the eve of a holiday spent traditionally outside [in short -- Sukkōt is the plural of sukkah, "booth" or "tabernacle", which is a walled structure covered with s'chach (plant material, such as overgrowth or palm leaves). A sukkah is the name of the temporary dwelling in which farmers would live during harvesting.....]
  15. How lovely, they'll be a perfect match together, with their "clashing" colors. Moreover, he's such a gentle soul, just like Kenzie 💕.
  16. It say a third of a mile from St. Marco, and 8 mins walk to Rialto. As said, the kitchen clinched the deal, and the apt. seems very airy 😉
  17. So sorry, Mark, that your daughter has to go through Lucy's passing (may she RIP) on top of everything she's going through. Wishing her strength and hopes that this ordeal will soon be behind her.
  18. You "got" me, Judy. As a matter of fact, we're flying out on Valentine's Day, but it was not planed as such. It is very difficult to find direct flights to Venice, and also at reasonable times. No way I'll fly out late evening or very early in the morning -- it's a deal breaker for us. So we had to adjust our stay there according to the flights we found.... Another "requirement" was to find a flat with a fully equipped kitchen (not just microwave and refrigerator), so that DH can "exercise" his talents... Last time we were in Venice it was actually the first time we stayed there and not in Mestre. It was so much better. Early in the morning we went to Rialto market, and, in seeing all this market had to offer, DH declared that his dream is to come back one day, rent an apt and cook from the amazing products on display. Being also his birthday, hopefully he'll get his wish, and me -- some excellent meals... I've found an amazing apt, with a fully equipped modern kitchen - gas stove [a must] + oven. I'm wary about the weather in February, but after Covid hiatus, I'm willing to take my chances. Que sera, sera...
  19. Enjoy every moment!! There is a very nice series of books (Commissario Brunetti) located in Venice by Donna Leon. It was magical wandering the streets and recognize some of the places mentioned in her books. The first in the series was about a murder at the Venice Opera (La Fenice), which was the incentive to see the Barber of Seville there in February next year... Alas, DH would prefer to cut the performance in half....😉 https://www.amazon.com/Death-Fenice-Commissario-Brunetti-Mystery-ebook/dp/B007SIV41G/ref=sr_1_2?crid=16STOFL24GLU7&keywords=donna+leon&qid=1664981200&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjUzIiwicXNhIjoiNS4yMCIsInFzcCI6IjUuMDkifQ%3D%3D&s=books&sprefix=Dona+Leon%2Cstripbooks-intl-ship%2C197&sr=1-2 100% agree.
