  1. Hi Jim - We did exactly the same thing the last time we sailed into Manhattan. Our "Limo Guy" waited for us on a nearby side street, and as soon as we came out of the terminal on the second level, we called him and he drove over and picked us up right where the taxis drop off passengers. It worked out perfectly for us. 👍
  2. So, just for clarification...was the medical problem that was encountered on this cruise really a "gastrointestinal bug", (like Norovirus, etc.), or was it actually "the dreaded C-word"... Covid?
  3. Greg, It might actually be earlier on Dec 1, when we arrive in San Juan, PR.
  4. I think it's a mistake for anyone to think that the "Regent air credit" somehow constitutes a direct "refund" (by Regent) of the amount of money they are paying for everyone's air tickets. The same applies to the "hotel credit".
  5. I once accidentally walked by one of those fitness centers on the ship and they seem to be horrifyingly unhealthy and chillingly dangerous places! I am terrified to even be near one of them and have made it my goal to never be in the vicinity of another one! Most of the people I saw in the fitness center seemed to be profusely sweating and were suffering from sky-rocketing heart rates! A few even seemed to be only "minutes away" from a heart attack! ðŸ˜ĩ To "rescue myself" from those immediate dangers, I quickly sought out the refuge and safety of the Connoisseur Club! I found the lounge to be far more relaxing - and certainly a "safer place"! There were other smiling and friendly folks (just like me) in the lounge, there were many pleasant conversations going on, and there were many cool and refreshing drinks available to us...All gladly and quickly provided to us by very friendly wait staff! Overall, I also sensed a much lower physical exertion and stress level among everyone in the Club! I had the same relaxing experience in the casino, although I must admit that every now and then, I could feel my heart rate go up a little bit, depending upon what the slot machine I was playing on was "doing". But those random moments of "elevated excitement" quickly passed! These are just my own observations.
  6. Iprp - Thanks so much for posting. Please keep the observations and thoughts coming, as your time permits. Our first cruise on Splendor will be this November (less than 3 months from now - Yay!) and we're really looking forward to it! Regards
  7. But Bob...Isn't that the "whole point" of dinner....to catch up on what you "missed" at breakfast and lunch!? ðŸĪŠ
  8. But what I'd really like to know.... is if you sent him back to the kitchen to get you another popcorn sundae?
  9. Portolan - You brought back many good memories (during my working years) of flying many Business Class trips in the upper deck of a United 747 between Chicago and Seoul. What a great "flying machine"! The "made to order" deli sandwiches and the "custom made" Ice Cream Sundaes. Plenty of storage space for a briefcase, and lots of legroom, etc. Comfortable seats. And the staff actually seemed to be "happy" to see you (again)! Those were the "good ol' days" of flying onboard a wonderful "flying machine"! Regards!
  10. Thanks a lot Mike! That will be very helpful and will certainly relieve my "mild concern" about this. I can always count on Regent to "make things right"! I'll get that email (with relevant guest details) off to you this morning. Best Regards.
  11. Hi Mike (and all others). I just got through reserving my 3 specialty dining reservations (on Splendor) at 5PM "Arizona Time". This is for our Nov 20th/23 TA from Barcelona to Miami. I also "THINK" I was able to add our two friends to those 3 dining bookings, who are travelling with us. I use "Think" in quotes because that had to undoubtedly be one of the "Clunkiest" online booking experiences I've had in a long time (actually...since our last Regent cruise when we also had traveling companions with us)! 🙄 I received Email confirmation for the reservations about 10 minutes later...but there was/is no confirmation that the reservations where for the 4 of us. The confirmation Email just said "Dining party of 2" even though our 2 friends were listed as having been added on our website account (under our "dining customization tab") as being part of the reservation. So "fingers crossed". I'm not going to worry about this too much because in the end...I always know that Regent "comes through" for us. I've don the "dining reservations thing" many times...but every time is like "the first time". It's hard to get the "feel" for how this all works. Best Regards to all. (By the Way - I sure like being able to do it at 5PM in Arizona 😜).
  12. Hi Mike. So, to confirm in my own mind...no matter what the current or future "reservation opening time" is...we will all individually be notified (in advance) of that time on each of respective account page/s for each cruise. Correct?
  13. Wow...ðŸ˜ē 4AM for those of us in Arizona and on the West Coast! I better set a second alarm clock!
  14. Does it use batteries or does it plug into the wall? ðŸĪŠ
  15. Sandy, I keep my standards low enough so that they're always exceeded, "no matter what!" I've even been known to drink good single-malt out of a paper cup! ðŸ˜ĩ Best Regards!
  16. Linda - That's an excellent idea. For casual drinking (vice "serious drinking") up on the pool deck, Connoisseur Club, or before/after dinner, Constellation theater...the "splits" would be a great idea to be able to order, without having to waste/open and entire larger bottle. Opened champagne definitely has a very short "shelf life".
  17. Absolutely. But why not ask to have the ingredients for that nightly martini just stocked in your own room's mini bar and you could make that "perfect martini" yourself, whenever you wished?! 😜
  18. Sounds like you made the right decision. 👍 I would have done exactly the same thing! Regards
  19. Thanks Kathy! I've been remiss lately for not staying in touch with everyone on the roll call forum. I'll do better from here on out. We made our "final payment" this morning. Best Regards.
  20. Even when you initiate the call to a verified phone number?
  21. Pappy, all I can think of is that Regent has determined (through their own market studies) that more of their target demographic is attracted by "the glitz"...than those who are "turned off" by the pricing?? ðŸĪ”
  22. I don't think Regent will ever be inclined to pass along any "cost savings" to their customers. Rather...they'll continue to cut operating costs wherever they can (by eliminating all those little "extra touches" that drew us older customers to them to begin with), while at the same time increasing their fares, as well (and as high as the market will bear). Do we really think that the fares would go up "even more", simply because they continued to provide the pleather wallets and pre-printed luggage tags? They're probably assuming (probably correctly) that "the gold's and platinum's" are not going to stop booking future cruises simply because they no longer receive pre-cruise leather luggage tags. And new customers can't "miss" something that they never received in the first place.
  23. I heartily agree! That was my first thought, as well. Why not simply call Regent direct, talk to a "real person", and provide the CC info directly to them. Not everything in life has to be done "online"...Best Regards To All
  24. Thanks a lot for posting this, Vegas. We'll be on the same Splendor TA this Nov/Dec '23, so this was perfect to see the schedule and activities in advance. Getting excited already! Thanks again! Regards.
