I find this surprising. I found Oceania food to be a much better than HAL on the whole. And the Terrace Cafe was a huge difference than the HAL buffet. Even beverages, the ice tea on HAL obviously fountain type. Oceania ice tea tasted like it had been fresh brewed. Specialty coffee is included on Oceania. If I desired a coffee or tea a server was right there to take my request.

OP is not going to find an experience like what they state they desirre on Holland America on any mass market cruise line. To think that they are going to pay less and get a similiar experience is wishfull thinking. Holland America might be a good value though for OP. Oceania, Azamara and Viking I would call real Premium lines but not luxury lines.

As others mentioned for electronics you don’t need a voltage converter. Some hair dryers and curling irons might need voltage converters. You do need plug adapters. You need a Euro plug adapter and a UK plug adapter.

The Royal app is for phones. It is not designed to run on tablets. The Royal app does run on my iPad but only as a phone sized app. It only runs at all because iOS and iPadOS use the same code. Any future Royal upgrade or IPadOS upgrade could break it from running. It is not a fault of the Android or Apple tablets if it won’t run on your tablet. It is Royal Caribbeans decision not to make tablet versions.

They do have cruise packages now. One is $50 for 50 minutes voice and another is $100 unlimited voice. If they don't need data then this may work for OP. Not much data included and that is where they need to be careful and have data off as they could accidentally rack up large data charges. Phones can be using data in the backround and a bunch of people have been burned.

They set up a mobile cell tower that is connected to a satellite. Possibly the same satellite that the internet that provides the ships wifi. I have never used Cellular at Sea so I don't know how the quality compares. I have always had good calls with WiFi calling and FaceTime.

Clear your website data for Cruise Critic. Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data then delete the Cruise Critic data. I was able to log in after doing that on my iPad.

I am now able to log in now on my MacBook and iPad. I cleared my Cruise Critic cookie on both.
