  1. That is the way it is now black background but it asks me if I want to autofill my password for Charles4515. I tap yes and I am logged in. I had to log out to test that because after I logged back in after the upgrade I was remembered stayed logged in. This is on an iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air. The old way it looked different, no black background but I still had to tap to autofill. It was not already filled in. It may work differently on Android or Windows.
  2. The software was upgraded. There was a banner notification on top that an update was going to be installed.
  3. Because the software was upgraded. There was a banner notification about that.
  4. They do have cruise packages now. One is $50 for 50 minutes voice and another is $100 unlimited voice. If they don't need data then this may work for OP. Not much data included and that is where they need to be careful and have data off as they could accidentally rack up large data charges. Phones can be using data in the backround and a bunch of people have been burned.
  5. They set up a mobile cell tower that is connected to a satellite. Possibly the same satellite that the internet that provides the ships wifi. I have never used Cellular at Sea so I don't know how the quality compares. I have always had good calls with WiFi calling and FaceTime.
  6. Clear your website data for Cruise Critic. Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data then delete the Cruise Critic data. I was able to log in after doing that on my iPad.
  7. I am now able to log in now on my MacBook and iPad. I cleared my Cruise Critic cookie on both.
  8. I am logged in with Safari on my laptop. I didn't log in though. I was not logged out..... Was able to log in on my iPad after clearing Cruise Critic website data. (Cookie)
  9. If you have an Alabama drivers license you do not have an enhanced drivers license. They are not issued in Alabama. See post #2 above.
  10. I had a feeling the website needed updating. Thank you for contacting them and reporting back.
  11. You can take the ferry to Hamilton and then a bus to the caves.
  12. Culture comes from technology. Technology is what gives us time and ability to make, music, art and literature. No technology and we would just be animals. I dismissed the quote you made because you are interpreting the lyrics to be profound.
  13. Poets make up a lot of gibberish. What is reality is that technology is what distinguishes humanity from the rest of the animal world.
  14. Yes, I understood you were quoting someone else.
  15. The article has been edited since the original version. Autumn and Winter schedule is also an edit.
  16. I was wondering why you thought the % would be higher on Carnival. You were basing it on actual experience. I have not done Carnival in years. I guess since Carnival passengers are younger the 30% is possible on Carnival although I doubt it is that high. A high percentage of the boomers I know have Apple Watches but they probably are not typical boomers.
  17. Draft 2023 cruise ship schedule link and also attached. October 28, 2022 draft. This is the first draft. There are often revisions. http://www.marops.bm/Documents/Shipping_schedules/2023 Cruise Ship Schedule.pdf 2023 Cruise Ship Schedule.pdf
  18. FYI. Royal Gazette article. https://www.royalgazette.com/tourism/news/article/20221029/occasional-callers-make-up-high-proportion-of-2023-cruise-visits/ http://www.marops.bm/Documents/Shipping_schedules/2023 Cruise Ship Schedule.pdf
  19. I don’t know why you think that. I doubt the percentage of passengers on Carnival with an Apple Watch is much different than the percentage on Celebrity. Both of you are saying many. Many is relative. The answer many passengers are but not most passengers can both be correct. Which I think is the case. I think one thing to look at as far as cruise lines adapting a technology is momentum. There is momentum but I don’t see smartwatches ever being worn by most passengers. Many yes, most no. Right now it is probably 5% to 10%. No way 30% on either Carnival or Celebrity. The watches are being used for purposes beyond timekeeping, to enhance health and safety so I could see 30% wearing a smartwatch someday. I don’t think they will become as ubiquitous as smartphones.
  20. Funny but on the boards the condescending posts are from self righteous people telling people to disconnect or put their phone in the safe when they ask questions about how to use smartphones on a cruise. Some yahoo seems to always jump in with nanny advice. You are on vacation blah, blah blah…..
  21. On the tourism website they list hours for every day. Nothing about it being open only in the summer. https://www.gotobermuda.com/profile/fort-st-catherine/962
  22. It is a shared ride taxi and not expensive. It is a regular car. The taxis want the return fare so they will ask you when you want to be picked up. I give them a time but If you get tired of the beach and want to go back before or stay later than the time there will be taxis arriving that you can take back.
  23. The only beach on St. Marteen I have been to without peddlers is Pinel island. it is pretty nice there with I think two beach bars. You have to take a taxi to Cut De Sac and then a small boat ferries you over. The boat costs I think $12 round trip so the peddlers so I guess don't want to pay that. If you go you would want to prearrange with the taxi to return. Only pay on return!!!
  24. A taxi to Orient Beach is not a hassle. I have taken a taxi there four or five times. The taxis are well organized. I have been going to Kakao or Bikini Beach. I noticed that the cruise line excursions go to those two beach bar/restaurants too. I think those two and some others may have the same owners.
  25. It says they were open daily in the three summer months. Possibly they would not have tours or weekend hours in the off season and the website needs to be updated? Hope there is a reply.
